When I click reply, it leads me to the app but does not show me the messages to reply to. Even when I toggle all the given applications on the dashboard, I cannot find or send a message. This is extremely frustrating and makes me not want to use the app with how difficult it is to use. I should be able to easily eeply, but the message is nowhere to be found. ### 1/5 — Extremely Unreliable *2026-08-16, version 7.97.0* Taskers often don’t show up, are underqualified despite their claims. Task rabbit will attempt to take your money when they fail to honor their agreements. The app quoted $25 an hour. But after fees and more fees the total was over $85. For almost $100 I could have just done this myself in 15 minutes. Will never use this app again. Absolute ripoff. Oh also I was matched with 3 different people because the taskers kept canceling for seemingly no reason. ### 1/5 — Crooks/ charges without getting work done *2026-08-13, version 7.97.0* I’ve been charged with up to 200 dollar fees and still haven’t had someone to come do the work I need to get done. A worker can tell you they’re coming one hour late then tell you again they will be 30 more minutes late not considering how long they’ll take to find parking. After the task was completed they put the task took two hours. When I contested them they said that the tasker had a badge on their profile that said two hour minimum. I didn’t know I had to look for a badge. It also let me submit one hour for the task. If there is a minimum two hour, then it shouldn’t let me put one hour. Then I would have known it was a two hour minimum. I had to spend $265 on hanging on mirror that took 15 minutes. There is no customer support either, so I will not be using this platform again. ### 1/5 — Overpriced *2026-08-09, version 7.96.0* This platform takes advantage of both taskers and clients. They charge fees that are more than double the price of the task and minimum hours are hidden from view or in drop down menus or small print. Neither do they follow their own policy that all fees should be disclosed in chat. As a first time client I was grossly overcharged for a task and support was unwilling to adjust their invoice. They did offer a discount on my next task but discount will not cover the absorbent fees when used. Disappointing service. Do not recommend for anyone trying to economize. ### 3/5 — App itself fails at communication *2026-08-08, version 7.96.0* There’s no communication from the app. I recently booked a tasker and I found out today the tasker rejected it. There was no email. There was no banner notification. No notification even in app. There was a small message at the bottom of the chat that I needed to select a new tasker. But nothing highlighted on the task itself. The task was still active one minute and the next it just disappears. The Tasker came completely unprepared with a dead drill battery and had to use my personal tools. He mounted the TV crookedly and spent most of the time struggling to correct his own mistake, then billed me $170 for the extra time wasted. Absolute nightmare of an app. I live in Bournemouth, and there is literally ONE single handyman available in the entire city on this app. I created an account, posted the job, sent pictures, and explained everything. The guy said it would take 2 hours, accepted the job, showed up and then realized he couldn't actually do it. Up to this point, fine, people make mistakes. The real scam starts here. He canceled the job through the app, leaving me stranded. Since there are zero other handymen in Bournemouth on TaskRabbit, I contacted customer support. To their credit, I got connected to an agent in 5 minutes. But their response? "Our handymen are experts, so you must have bought the wrong product." Are you serious? The cupboard I bought is directly from the company that supplies and installs them for brand-new housing developments(I live brand-new house). When I called out their ridiculous excuse and pointed out that there’s no one else in Bournemouth to fix it, they dropped the bomb: They charged me £56 for a "1-hour call-out fee" just because their "expert" showed up. I waited 3 whole days just for a guy to walk into my house, say "I can't do this," and steal £56 from my bank account for doing absolutely nothing. This is nothing short of a modern-day scam. They offer the LOWEST quality labour on the market. You will need to call a minimum of 3 “traders “ to get the job done, and yet it will be poorly completed. Please do not download ### 1/5 — CUSTOMERS BEWARE *2026-08-19, version 7.97.0* If you have any moral compass you should be informed of the following information that can be verified via a simple internet search and the Facebook group, Taskers Nationwide. Task Rabbit has an active Class Action Lawsuit for deceptive billing and fees. In the past customers would go through the entry process and right as they were about to pay they saw that they were being charged an EXTRA 30% of the bill per hour for a convenience fee for customer support. It often bumped up the hourly rate to $15hr. So, if you hired a $40hr tasker you were paying $55hr. They had to change that to disclose it upfront. The result was fewer gigs were being booked because no one wants to pay unreasonable bottom line prices. People started booking the $20hr side gig college students and the like who are not serious. That is why you see all the 1 star reviews about unreliability and professionalism. To add insult to injury they have now hidden taskers who have higher rates even if they have over 4yrs all 5 star reviews and over 400 jobs—like me. Make no mistake, I’m not a disgruntled tasker whining because I am not being booked. I have researched the lawsuit and accessed the full docket and monitored FB groups for the past 5 months. This is happening to a lot of longstanding Taskers. Where ethics come to play: Instead of charging a one time flat rate to book that is reasonable so that the business model remains intact, income flow and livelihood of single parents, people without degrees, and other groups who rely on it can survive, they opted to keep their extra $ per hour and do away with us to clear space for cheaper taskers to show up in the queue to retain a steady booking total. FURTHER unsafe practices and I have this in writing: “We do not require customers to verify their identity.” Meaning, anyone can steal your card and use it. You might get your money back, but the culprit has received free services. It is also dangerous because we enter unknown people’s homes. I brought this up and they said if we got into a situation to contact customer support through the app instead of suggesting 911. Calling 911 might be hard to do in the middle of being assaulted. This is not the same as ordering an online product. People’s lives are involved. Yet, we have to do a background check and upload our ID. The CEO is aware and there have been thousands of complaints filed with customer support. Nothing done. Draw your own conclusions from the above. Do your research. We used Task Rabbit to hire cleaners to help or handy-workers. We will not support a company who chooses greed over hardworking people’s lives. ### 1/5 — Unreliable Taskers *2026-08-17, version 7.97.0* I have had taskers cancel right before a task has started multiple times for the same task. The system does not allow you to rate a tasker that cancels nor is there any penalty to taskers that cancel. The biggest issue is that I never get notified when a Tasker cancels my task or simply doesn’t show up. The only way I find out is by opening the app and checking manually, which shouldn’t be necessary. What makes this especially frustrating is that I have notifications turned on for both email and text, yet nothing ever comes through on either channel. For an app built around scheduling and reliability, failing to send these basic alerts is a serious problem. Unless this gets fixed, I’m seriously considering deleting the app. Timely notifications about cancellations and no-shows are the bare minimum I’d expect, and right now the app just isn’t delivering. ### 5/5 — Apartment Cleaning *2026-05-14, version 7.90.0* Best App ever! I’d book another tasker. They’d cancel, too. I saw on a discussion forum on Quora that many others have had the same issue. I’m giving this app one more try.
