## What is TasteLens?

Stop guessing. Start matching.

TasteLens scans any restaurant menu and instantly ranks every dish by how well it matches your personal taste profile — not generic reviews, not other people's opinions. Just your food, your way.

BUILD YOUR TASTEDNA
A few quick dish match-ups — pick what calls to you, and TasteLens builds your TasteDNA: a taste fingerprint that's completely yours. Want more control? Fine-tune it anytime with detailed sliders for heat, richness, bold flavours, adventure, texture, and sweetness, plus dietary needs and favourite ingredients.

DISCOVER YOUR PERSONA
Based on your TasteDNA, TasteLens gives you a dining identity — Fire Breather, Zen Plate, Umami Hunter, Globe Trotter, and more. It's the food lover's personality test you didn't know you needed.

SCAN ANY MENU
Point your camera at any printed or digital menu — anywhere in the world. TasteLens reads it, identifies every dish, and ranks them by your match score in seconds.

EVERY DISH, PERSONALLY RANKED
Each dish gets a match score and three personal reasons why it works (or doesn't) for you specifically. Favourite ingredients get flagged. Dietary conflicts get filtered out automatically.

TASTELOG
Every scan is saved. Rate dishes after your meal and let TasteLens learn what you actually loved — your taste profile refines itself over time with Dynamic TasteDNA.

TasteLens works at any restaurant, anywhere. No sign-ups required for restaurants. No menus to pre-load. Just point, scan, and eat well.

What's New in 1.2.0
New dish artwork — every dish in your taste quiz now comes with illustrated artwork, so building your TasteDNA feels as good as it looks.
Share your persona — generate and share a proper TasteLens card any time, straight from your taste profile, not just when it first appears.
A smoother start — onboarding is quicker and more consistent, with a clearer path from your first taste quiz straight to your first scan.
Plus a refreshed look throughout the app, and a number of behind-the-scenes fixes for a smoother, more reliable experience.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-29

Version 1.1

- TasteDNA reimagined — now maps 8 dimensions of flavour: heat, richness, acidity, umami, sweetness, bitterness, adventure, and heartiness. Your matches just got dramatically more accurate.

- New personas — 10 completely rebuilt taste identities that feel genuinely you.

- Food Mood — tell TasteLens what you're after before every scan, with an optional budget for mains.

- Richer preferences — add favourite proteins, carbs and flavour bases, plus ingredients you love and want to avoid.

- Much faster results — dishes appear almost instantly, with scores filling in as we match to your TasteDNA.

- TasteLog redesigned — Eaten and Explored tabs separate confirmed visits from menus you've browsed. Tap 'I ate here' to move an Explored scan across.

- Complete menu coverage — every dish on the menu now gets scored, not just a subset.

- Bug fixes and performance improvements throughout.
