## What is Tasting Notebook?

Tasting Notebook helps you taste wine, beer, and sparkling drinks with more structure, whether you are tasting alone or with a group.

Create blind or open tastings, score each glass, record aromas and flavors with the tasting wheels, add bottle photos, save locations, and compare your notes with bottle information.

Taste together with a QR code
Start a shared tasting and let participants join by scanning the code. Everyone rates the glasses independently. When the host finishes, the group sees the favorite bottle, averages, and the glass that divided opinions most. Individual ratings remain anonymous in the group result.

Understand your own taste
Your personal taste profile is built from your ratings, grapes, countries, aromas, flavors, and structure. It explains recurring preferences and helps you compare future tastings.

Choose the right bottle
Describe or photograph a dish to receive pairing ideas from bottles you have tasted and suitable new styles. Photograph a restaurant wine list to compare the best food match, likely taste match, value, and something new.

Continue in BottleVault
Tasting Notebook uses IT24's dedicated BottleVault app for cellar inventory and wishlists. Send a tasted bottle or an older entry directly to BottleVault, review its details, and choose its physical position before saving.

The app is free to download. Online AI analyses use optional credits, with one credit charged per completed analysis. AI results are educational suggestions and should be verified against the label. An IT24 account is required for shared tastings and online account features, with sign-in by email, Apple, or Google. Bottle photos are not included in account cloud sync. The app does not sell alcohol.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-09-01

Tasting Notebook now uses BottleVault for cellar management. Send a tasted bottle or an older cellar entry directly to BottleVault, review its details, and choose its position before saving.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-14

Version 2.0 introduces an IT24 account with Apple, Google or email sign-in, cloud sync, shared QR tastings, a personal taste profile, food pairing, a wishlist and simple cellar, and AI help for restaurant wine lists. We also improved photo preservation during sync, versioned the AI API for smoother updates, and now show the account email in Settings.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-10

Countries in AI bottle info now appear in the app’s selected language, including older analyses. Saving an AI result compares aroma, taste, grape, and country with your choices. The AI reference stays locked while your choices remain editable.

AI credit prices now refresh from the App Store and appear in the same local currency shown in the purchase dialog.

AI credit packages now show their price and buy button directly through the App Store purchase view, ensuring the local currency matches the payment sheet.

Swedish App Store accounts now show the verified Swedish package prices of SEK 19, 49, and 149 before Apple’s payment sheet opens.

Clearer aroma wheels with petrol, oak, cedar, smoke, and more developed notes. AI bottle info now identifies ABV, grapes, country, and expected aromas and flavors more reliably. Add a country to each glass and search AI insights, notes, grapes, flavors, and food pairings.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-27

New in 1.2: view and buy AI credits from Settings, open a map of saved tasting locations, edit location/address later, and access photo plus AI bottle info directly on each glass.
