What I like: • Easy to locate nearby chargers and reserve a slot in many cities. • Payment and session summary features are generally smooth. • The backing of a large infrastructure operator gives confidence that the stations will keep expanding. What could be better: • Occasionally the charging session fails to initiate (“SOC not connected”) or stops unexpectedly — this can be frustrating when you’re on the road. • The wallet / top-up balance sometimes shows delays or unclear history. A few users report stuck funds. • Pricing feels higher in some locations compared to alternatives, which means cost-sensitive users may hesitate. • The UI could be more intuitive, especially under time pressure (e.g., when you arrive tired and just want to plug in). Verdict: If you own an EV and need reliable access to a large public charging network, this app is one of the better options available. Just go in with realistic expectations: it works well most of the time, but not flawlessly yet. Having a backup (other network or method) is wise. It is easy to operate through app. But charging is too costly. 29/- per unit including tax. That quite disappointing. If Tata can decrease charges it will be great experience. Here is exactly why you should avoid it: 1. Trapped Funds: Every other top private player allows you to refund your wallet balance if you decide to close your account. With this app, once your money is added, there is absolutely no way to get it back. 2. Broken Tax Logic: Unlike other apps that calculate your tax at the end of your charging session, this app deducts GST upfront when you add funds to the wallet. If you have an insufficient balance in the middle of a session and need to top up, the tax calculation becomes a mess and you end up paying unnecessary extra taxes just to keep charging. 3. Nightmare Customer Care: You expect a certain standard from the Tata brand, but the support team is completely unprofessional. They offer zero proper solutions and their behavior is totally unacceptable. Overall, this app is a massive frustration. It would honestly be better if they just shut it down entirely rather than trapping users' money with a broken billing system. Avoid at all costs and use other charging networks! ### 1/5 — This is joke in the name of Update *2026-01-18* Asked them to help me find out Public charger in Mumbai as there is no filter available in the app which can simply do the same. They can't help. Asked them to remove charger or at least put RLS so that others can't see it again no action. This is what happens when people think there is no accountability Update: based on your reply, First learn the problem statement that customer is highlighting. Open the app and you end up on USA. ‘Wanna charge your Tesla?’ Drag your map to India - the app will crash. Ok how about QR code scans,wait will it crash? Try it, download it cos there ain’t any option LOVE IT. ### 1/5 — Please don’t download this app!!! *2024-08-05* This app is a joke! I did all they asked to sign up and logged in and then automatically I was signed out. After 100 tries I was somehow able to reset my password and tried logging in but it says something went wrong again and again. The worst part I was able to login with the same credentials on my laptop but what’s the use when I need the mobile app to work on when I am out with my car! Vehicle is ok but never gives claimed mileage. It is giving me 40% of claimed mileage. The Tata Power EZ charge is the worst app. The servers are poor. It takes hours to login and charge. Yesterday I wasted 2 hours at the charger and couldn’t start charging because of the poor app. Today morning again I wasted 2 hours at the charger. I couldn’t charge because of this poor app. I am writing to government to end monopoly of Tata and allow good Chinese and American companies to start operations in India. It is high time to end monopoly of Indian companies like Tata, Reliance and Adani. Or you can provide link system to other charging companies so that we can charge with your valet at any stations available at anywhere. Similarly, you have to give opportunity to charge vehicles from your station to others also. A bilateral policy has to be agreed with all charging companies. Those who are interested so you can avoid installing more charging stations by Tata it self till you become sufficiently having the System. Most places chargers are non-functional and no support is available. It is a very unreliable network of chargers. The best part is TATA does not discriminate other EV cars from charging in it’s station rather it provides equal and fair chance to all the EV cars/bus. Also, it is very easy to use just plug in, add money to wallet and start charging. Just keep in mind lock your car after plugging it in as it checks for Isolation of the car before starting to charge. At first I had issue too but after doing this it is just so easy. It gets connects in the first time. Happy consumer.
