DJ Player Professional had its (support) flaws but at least it - did not stop and restart mid song - did not never finish analyzing music - did not crash repeatedly out of the blue because OS - refuse to track or read into a media file - did not distort the sound output so bad good sound hardware was not helpful - misidentify the difference between purchased from store music or subscribed to music - cost fifty dollars but require my per hour (I am talking many hours weeks months) to figure out why things didn’t work like before as the evolutionary app it had been because there was never a need to say ‘is DJ Professional Player worth it?’ - did not have so many bells and whistles it wasn’t a DJ music media player and it was not talent it was bells and whistles often poorly implemented (ok that is not the total fault of this particular app but just to note the other offerings out there - what were you all thinking? ) To sum it up I will find my way back to a slightly more expensive hardware solution that isn’t constantly dependant on the internet being attached and forever broken coding that by definition is a security risk to all of its neighbour apps whenever and however the littlest glitch in the coding doesn’t want to get along just because…algorithms. ### 2/5 — Works a lot worse than DJ Player Pro did *2026-02-14* I’m not sure why the developer decided to rewrite this app to be cross platform (including web browsers?) It’s less stable, widgets feel “off”. And the library browsing/previewing is unusable. In DJPP it was very intuitive and quick to use live. I’ll keep using DJPP till it stops working or Tau catches up. Judging by the progress in the release notes I worry it’ll be the former. ### 5/5 — Fantastic DVS Support *2026-02-11* This app has some great improvements over DJPlayerPro. I also really appreciate the updated business model. As a vinyl DJ who prefers to use an iPad instead of a laptop, I really appreciate the DVS support and there were a few bugs from DJPlayerPro that I really appreciate being squashed. ### 5/5 — 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 *2024-12-20* 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ### 1/5 — Too many bugs... *2024-09-04* To be fair, the creator has a Discord acct set up for chats about issues and bugs. And I believe he is trying to fix them. But as of right now, the platform is unusable. Too many display issues. Library search malfunctions more than it works. The wave forms often do not display correctly. Beatgrids are not displaying on the beat. Too bad DJPP is already discontinued. That was a great platform by the same creator, but this one is def not ready for public consumption. It is not reliable for DJing.
