## What is Tavern Schnapsen?

A 400-year-old Austrian card duel, taught at the table instead of a rulebook —
illustrated across two full themes, with rival bots who actually play like
people.

FREE TO PLAY
Download and play in full: every rule, both illustrated themes, two of the
three rival bots. A short ad between hands funds it. A single $4.99 purchase
removes the ads for good and unlocks the Expert opponent and your full career
stats.

THREE RIVALS, THREE PERSONALITIES
Pip plays it safe and makes mistakes you can punish. Mara takes real risks and
will occasionally overreach. Vale plans ahead and knows when to close the
talon — not just three difficulty numbers.

TAUGHT AT THE TABLE
A guided first hand introduces the rules in context: when to exchange the
trump Jack, when to declare a marriage, and when to close the talon to reach 66.
An optional turn guide explains what is legal and why as you play.

ONE DECK, TWO ROOMS
Switch between Riverside Tavern (a four-colour deck: red hearts, amber
diamonds, green spades, black clubs) and Midnight Parlor (classic red and
black) mid-match. Same rules, same rivals — only the light changes.

NO TRACKING, EVER
Play offline, without an account, analytics, or an ad network. House ads are
bundled with the app itself; they do not track you. Purchases and purchase
restoration are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Schnapsen (the Austrian variant of Sixty-Six) is a public-domain trick-taking
game — a 20-card deck, 5-card hands, and a real decision on every trick: follow
suit or trump, hold the marriage or declare it now, gamble on closing the
talon or play it safe. If you already know Bezique, Pinochle, or Skat, you'll
be at home in an afternoon.
