### 4/5 — It is nice tool

*2026-07-05, version 1.6.3*

Like this tool, it’s not perfectly accurate but it’s good enough to monitor and it’s too bad Taylor does not make it anymore. I have 3 Taylor’s and they should all have this tool . Sad to see it not available anymore

### 4/5 — Needs an Alarm Clear

*2026-06-15, version 1.6.3*

I think the app needs to give the user the ability to clear an alert/alarm after they see it

### 4/5 — Handy tool

*2026-03-27, version 1.6.3*

The humidity sense seems about 4 to 5 percentage points high but the battery indicator is a very useful tool.

### 5/5 — Taylor Sense -A must have!

*2026-03-24, version 1.6.3*

I have owned several Taylor Sense units for several years now and find them to be extremely useful. They are easily fitted as replacement battery modules on Taylor acoustic electric guitars. I have found the Taylor Sense units to be highly informative and reliable. Information relayed to a simple to use app, includes relative humidity (logged hourly) with low or high humidity alarms, battery status in addition to knock sensing. For those who use their preamplifier’s frequently, the ability to check battery status at a glance is incredibly useful in addition to the peace of mind afforded by being able to monitor correct storage conditions for your prized and valuable instrument.

### 5/5 — It works!

*2026-03-14, version 1.6.3*

I was having issues with it for the first six months I used it. The reading was always 10 points higher than the room hygrometer and even the hygrometer I had in the guitar case. The folks at Taylor looked into it and were able to recalibrate it remotely after I shared my account info with them. Seems to be spot on now, and as such, is super helpful to maintain the guitar in a healthy condition. Keeping it at a consistent level of humidity and temperature without sudden wild swings of either will keep it playing and sounding great. Which is why I chose a Taylor in the first place. The tone and playability can’t be beat.
Two years later - the TaylorSense is definitely worth it to keep track of your guitar’s environment. Better than guessing!
Updating March 2026 -- this is well worth installing. A small investment in your investment in a fine instrument.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-01-24, version 1.6.3*

In the winter it’s too dry and in the summer it’s too humid. This app helps me monitor and track humidity to keep my Taylor in the environment it’s meant to be in. Great app, no regrets.

### 5/5 — Actually Works

*2026-01-20, version 1.6.3*

Consistently reads within 2% of my permanent hygrometer setup. Which finally gave me confidence that my band room had any kind of stability and in where all the other guitars in my room were at. WORTH IT!

### 5/5 — Works Very Well

*2026-01-20, version 1.6.3*

I brought my K-12 in for a refresh and had the Taylorsense module installed. It works great and I am happy to get a reading of humidity in the guitar right on my iPhone.

### 4/5 — Almost There

*2026-01-19, version 1.6.3*

Please show the current humidity level of a device in the list of devices (next to their names) and I’ll up my rating to 5 stars! I don’t want to drill into a device every time I check the humidity levels, I have lots of guitars!

### 4/5 — Pleasantly Surprised

*2026-01-17, version 1.6.3*

I purchased one of Taylor’s Custom guitars that came with the TaylorSense system installed. I had read several reviews about how inaccurate these were. So I did my own testing for several weeks comparing both temperature and humidity to my hygrometer/ temperature gauge. Kept in the same vicinity, the readings have been consistent. I’m quite happy about that. The only issue that I’ve experienced is an intermittent disconnect with the Bluetooth connection. When this happens, I have to toggle the Bluetooth on my iPhone and disconnect/ reconnect the battery on the guitar. Also, contrary to other reviews I’ve read, I don’t see any power suck - less than 1% every few days. Too bad Taylor discontinued these. I’d get another for my other Taylor.

### 5/5 — Awesome tool to have.

*2026-01-14, version 1.6.3*

I love being able to track the humidity and temperature of my GS Mini. I get the peace of mind that I’m adequately protecting my investment.

### 5/5 — TaylorSense

*2026-01-09, version 1.6.3*

Very accurate and helpful device to monitor your investment in a Taylor acoustic electric guitar. Measures humidity, battery life, temperature, and any impact incidents that might damage your guitar. I’ve had it fir about 4 years and it is an excellent aid to guitar health!

### 5/5 — Great investment

*2025-12-25, version 1.6.3*

Great investment for your pride and joy. It monitors your guitar humility before it becomes critical.

### 4/5 — Great Solution but battery doesn’t last long

*2025-12-16, version 1.6.3*

TaylorSense works well and makes monitoring humidity much easier, but it would be better if you could recharge the battery.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-12-09, version 1.6.3*

Fantastic tool for monitoring temp/humidity of your precious Taylor guitar. 😊🤘👍

### 5/5 — Essential

*2025-12-06, version 1.6.3*

Essential for guitar health. Love it

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-12-01, version 1.6.3*

Quick and easy diagnosis. Battery life indicator lets you know if you need to change the battery before a gig. No more losing your feed mid set or wasting battery because you change it out with power to spare. I love it.

### 5/5 — Convenient humidity monitoring

*2025-11-17, version 1.6.3*

The installation was easy to do during a string change. The sensor matches an independent humidity monitor that I used before the TaylorSense unit. The app is very convenient with the current and 3-day time-average humidity values reported. The notification of high or low humidity is a great reminder of when to put the guitar in its case with humidity maintenance pouches to protect the instrument. I’m very pleased with the sensor and the app.

### 5/5 — Taylor sense

*2025-11-15, version 1.6.3*

This product is excellent. It helps keep track of my battery life humidity temperature without even having to open the guitar case. I wish Taylor would go back to offering it as a product.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor Connectivity

*2026-01-30, version 1.6.3*

Worked okay the first year. It would display random impact incidents reported. Then connectivity pretty much dropped off. I’m lucky if it will connect once every six months.

### 1/5 — Poor standard

*2025-11-15, version 1.6.3*

Don’t even get a battery dead notification when your battery runs out. That’s how poor this app is.

Developers of the app show no sign of being capable of fixing issues or even bothered. It’s a poor showing on Taylor’s reputation.

There’s a z in all dates in apps which spoils the user experience. Been like it for a year.

The temperature is set to Fahrenheit and the description bellow it talks about Fahrenheit safe ranges. In the uk we use centigrade so a user has no idea what is the safe temperature range.

App is very barebones, it doesn’t link anything to your guitar registration at Taylor so you need to input everything again.

The Taylor sense unit is great but let down by app developers.

### 1/5 — Very poor

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-10-26, version 1.6.3*

This is a fairly useless app. I have all notifications turned on but never receive an actual notification for low battery or low humidity. I have to open the app to monitor the guitar which somewhat defeats the purpose.

### 1/5 — Update

*2017-03-31, version 1.0.2*

The update appears to have broken the tuner.

### 2/5 — Awesome if it would work

*2024-08-06, version 1.6.3*

I love the idea behind this. I can go in and check on my guitars and see the humidity, temp, and battery level, but it doesn’t push notifications to my phone. I have to open the app to get alerts. I’ve had multiple times that it tells me (after I’ve opened the app) there has been an impact when no one has been in my house to even possibly touch the guitar. I have it on 2 guitars but I won’t put it on any of my others because it just is worth spending the money for something that isn’t reliable. I love my Taylor guitars, but this product is a disappointment.

### 2/5 — Great idea, but sadly terrible execution

*2023-02-05, version 1.6.3*

I would love to love this app but it's just so bad. It constantly loses connection with my guitars. Right now it hasn't been able to connect to one guitar for over a month, yet my other two taylors are connected. Batteries are brand new Duracells, app if fully updated. Also it's so darn slow. It takes forever to load the daily humidity and temperature data. Taylor makes phenomenal guitars but terrible apps.

### 2/5 — Was Working Fine Until…

*2023-01-22, version 1.6.3*

The app was great until the last update. Since then, I am never automatically connected via Bluetooth whenever I’m near my guitar. It always shows disconnected. I have to manually remove the battery and reinsert to get connected. Never had this issue until a couple of weeks ago ago when the new update was pushed out.

### 2/5 — Battery Life

*2022-11-13, version 1.6.0*

I have used the TaylorSense battery box for about 3 months now. I have relied on the battery life indicator to give me the assurance that I would make it through a set. Twice now I have lost battery power during a set. More than when I didn’t have the app! My battery will typically die when the app shows 65-70% battery life! I called Taylor to help figure out what is happening and they said that that was normal. So now I change my battery at 70%. The TaylorSense instructions don’t mention this at all. They say change it at 10%. This is a major flaw in the app and should be changed. The battery indication was the main reason I bought the device and now I don’t feel much better off that before!

### 2/5 — Display Issues

*2017-04-09, version 1.0.2*

I just downloaded the app and purchased the h/w.

The telemetry function work great, displaying humidity etc.

However the multi track function, although promising, is useless because the screen formatting under the Song Tools section doesn't allow any user input, and therefore you get stuck and can't do anything with your song (I assume the save function is there as well). We

### 5/5 — Piece of Mind

*2026-08-30, version 1.6.3*

With all the technology used when are band plays having info on my guitar specifically is very helpful. Guitar not getting picked up? Battery is fine. Check the cables and the switches.
Michigan weather fluctuates. Knowing the humidity helps me care for my instrument.
I like this app and use it regularly.

### 5/5 — Taylor Sense -A must have!

*2026-08-04, version 1.6.3*

I have owned several Taylor Sense units for several years now and find them to be extremely useful. They are easily fitted as replacement battery modules on Taylor acoustic electric guitars. I have found the Taylor Sense units to be highly informative and reliable. I have noted that the humidity readings are higher (6%) than all other humidity sensors I have within the room but this could be due to the retention of moisture within the guitar itself.

### 5/5 — Excellent

It takes the mystery out of when to change your battery!

### 5/5 — Makes Sense

Love the Bluetooth integration with my phone

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-06-04, version 1.6.3*

I like how I can review my Taylor condition when it is in its case. Great app to help keep it well humidified and safe.

### 5/5 — Does what it's supposed to do

*2026-06-02, version 1.6.3*

It does what it's supposed to and has consistent results.

### 5/5 — Super tool

*2026-05-09, version 1.6.3*

Excellent

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2026-04-23, version 1.6.3*

Love having a alert for when humidity gets low in the winter - or if someone bumps my case.

### 5/5 — Great way to care for your guitar

*2026-04-15, version 1.6.3*

I have used Taylor Sense for about 2 years now and it is a great product to help you take care of your guitar! Definitely recommend if you don’t want to have to worry about your battery dying or your guitar getting too dry.
