## What is TB Slideshow?

Pick your photos, and your iPhone becomes a photo frame.

More than a simple slideshow: faces are detected and kept whole, and portrait and landscape shots are combined to fill the screen. With slow motion and a different transition each time, it stays interesting even when left running.

FACES ARE NEVER CUT OFF
Faces in each photo are detected on device, and the crop is centered on them. When several photos share the screen, each one is scaled so no face is pushed out of its frame. Photos shown at the top of the screen get extra margin so faces stay clear of the Dynamic Island.

PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE, BOTH LOOK RIGHT
The app looks at the orientation of your device and the shape of each photo, then decides whether to show one photo large or arrange several together. Landscape photos on a portrait screen, and portrait photos on a landscape screen, are grouped so nothing has to be cropped away.

LINK AN ALBUM, AND NEW PHOTOS COME ALONG
Import a whole album from the Photos app. Once linked, every time playback starts the app checks the album for newly added photos and imports them, so there is nothing to do after a trip.

AS MANY AS YOU LIKE
Keep separate slideshows for separate purposes, such as "Travel" and "Family". Each one keeps its own display time, layout and other settings.

FINE CONTROL
- Seconds per photo (1 to 30)
- One photo at a time, or several arranged together
- Transitions (fade, slide and more, or random)
- Slow motion effect on or off
- Play only photos that contain faces
- Shuffle and repeat
- Show date and clock, and battery level

PHOTOS ARE COPIED INTO THE APP
Photos used for playback are copied into the app's own storage. Playback never breaks because you reorganized your library, and never stalls waiting for an iCloud download. Each photo is resized on import to a size suited to the screen, so storage stays modest.

POWER SAVING AND FACE FRAMING (IN-APP PURCHASE)
An add-on for long playback. It dims the screen during playback, stops transitions and the slow zoom, and ends playback automatically after a time you choose. It can also be set to apply only while the device is running on battery, keeping full brightness whenever it is plugged in. The same purchase unlocks Face framing: photos containing faces can be shown as a close-up, or slowly move from the whole photo to the face and back. It is a one-time purchase, and Restore Purchases brings it back on a new device. Everything related to playing your photos is free without it.

PRIVACY
Photos and settings stay on your device. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no analytics or tracking of any kind.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-15

- Added "Movement" to Face framing. Choose how the zoom travels: Even (a constant speed), Follows the face (keeps the face in place), or Random (chosen per photo).
- Fixed photos turning black, or staying too small, after returning from another app.
- Fixed playback not resuming after returning from another app.
- Fixed Face framing continuing to move while playback was paused. The playback controls now stay visible until playback actually resumes.
- Fixed album import showing a count higher than the number of photos in the album, and imports appearing to stall.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-13

- Fixed an issue where the list of slideshows could appear empty after updating the app.
- Added "Face framing", included in the same one-time purchase as Power Saving. For photos containing faces you can choose a close-up, a slow zoom from the whole photo to the face, the reverse, alternating, or random.
- Power saving now goes further: a slightly longer interval between photos, lighter image loading, and face analysis is paused.
- Revised the defaults for newly created slideshows. Existing slideshows keep their settings.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-12

The "Auto" setting for Power Saving now follows the power cable instead of iOS Low Power Mode.

- While the device is plugged in, playback keeps its normal brightness.
- Unplug it and playback switches to power saving (dimmed screen, no transition effects, and it ends after the time you chose).
- Plugging or unplugging during playback switches it right away.
- The Power Saving screen now shows which of the two is in effect.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-04

- Tap the date and clock during playback to move them around the four corners of the screen. The position is remembered for next time.
- Choose the text size of the date and clock from three sizes.
- Choose how they are arranged: the date under the time, or beside it.
- Fixed an issue where importing photos from an album could stall partway through.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-28
