The free mTBI application offers emergency and first-line responders recent evidence-based tools for the management of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). This bilingual application (English and French) is intended for clinicians (doctors, nurses, health professionals) who work with adults and children who have suffered a mTBI. The application contains readily available information on diagnostic criteria, symptoms and risk factors for medical complications (Canadian CT Head Rule and PECARN), and risk factors for poor prognosis. In addition, step by step recommendations to resume intellectual and physical activities are clearly presented. The application also includes mTBI assessment tools for health practitioners (Rivermead post-concussion symptoms questionnaire, SCAT5, etc.), a list of clinical references and a toolbox for patients. NEW FEATURE : This application provides the opportunity for health practitioners to send tools to help patients resume intellectual and physical activities directly to their phone or tablet, as well as a list of clinical reference for safe medical leave. This application was developed as part of a research project funded by the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ) under the direction of Elaine de Guise, associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal and researcher at the MUHC Research Institute and the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR). This project was carried out in close collaboration with members of an advisory committee composed of physicians, nurses and researchers, all experts in MTBI or emergency care, from several Quebec communities. The Ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux du Québec (MSSS), the Institut national d'excellence en santé et services sociaux (INESSS), the Réseau provincial de Recherche en Adaptation-Réadaptation (REPAR), the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF) were also involved as project partners.
