I know everything is about data, but you already forced me to download an unnecessary app to data harvest. It kept failing so I reset my password and didn’t have any problems after that. Currently the app simply swaps the selected runner with the one at the top of list. 3. Project a runner’s finishing time based on most recent 5K split instead of using the overall average pace. Whenever I tried to look up information for any runner it says the participant has not started yet (even though that’s not true). Several friends said they weren’t able to track me on the app either. Not sure what went wrong, but the app seemed to malfunction with tracking! I tried several times and never received anything. I had to update my payment information. I thought this was something in the App Store application since I had just recently updated my Apple wallet. Next thing I knew they were charging my card for this app that’s supposed to be free! There was no alert for notification of that fee. This is pretty sleazy. ### 1/5 — Unprofessional & Poorly Designed *2024-11-02* There are so many missing best practices in modern app development. Why does a premier sports event have such an amateur lousy app? There are many basic usability and accessibility problems like illegible colors, teeny type size, no text control, no meaningful errors. The app is nearly unusable unless you login but it doesn’t say that. You also can’t use a VPN which is a security red flag. The App was good in 2023 but even better in 2024. The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) presented interesting data about the races in general and the specific performance of our 3 runners before, during and after the races. The AI presentation was a masterpiece in my opinion, a former statistician. I sent TCS information to our friends after the race to help them to analyze their performance. Outstanding work TCS!
