## What is Tea Cellar?

Tea Cellar is an intelligent tea inventory and brew session tracker that helps you manage your tea stock, scan labels with AI, and remember exactly how you brewed each tea.

Add teas manually or scan the label with AI to fill in details like tea type, origin, cultivar, harvest, and weight. Log every brewing session, save your leaf-to-water ratios and infusion times, and write tasting notes so you can actually repeat the brews that worked.

Whether you drink sencha, gyokuro, puerh, oolong, white tea, black tea, or hei cha, Tea Cellar gives you one place to manage both your inventory and your brewing history.

With Tea Cellar, you can:
- Scan tea labels and extract metadata with AI
- Store tea details like type, origin, cultivar, harvest, form, and vendor
- Track remaining weight and tea stock at home
- Log brewing sessions with grams, water volume, temperature, and infusion times
- Save tasting notes and ratings for each session
- Mark teas you want to buy again
- Get reminded when your favorite teas are running low
- Build a practical rebuy list instead of guessing from memory

Tea Cellar is built for tea drinkers who want more than a simple timer. It is your tea inventory, brewing notebook, and reorder tracker in one app.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-05-11

Fixed a bug where an in-progress brewing timer could be lost if iOS terminated the app in the background (e.g. due to memory pressure) while the user was steeping tea. The active brew session — current steep, elapsed time, per-steep notes and timer state — is now persisted to local storage and automatically restored on next launch, so the user can resume the session via the "Active brew" bar at the bottom of the screen.

### 1.0 — 2026-05-02
