It’s so frustrating to have to reenter your card details for every payment. Then the one time you have your card ready to do it, it offers Apple Pay???? It doesn’t even allow for auto fill of card details… Lots of work and one update would sort it to make it so much better! ### 1/5 — Apple Pay hardly works. *2025-12-17, version 1.8.7* Once in a blue moon the Apple Pay option will work other than that you will have to put your details in manually which is annoying. ### 1/5 — I wish my school would switch *2025-12-11, version 1.8.7* This app is incredibly basic, and yet somehow seems to only function properly half the time. There are constant issues with it connecting, the Apple Pay feature only works if you close and reload it multiple times some days, and often parents are left stranded with no way to pay for lunches and clubs due to outages. Apple Pay works intermittently (not worked for months now), was told it was being fixed. Adding a payment doesn’t always update, I’ve had to phone the school on multiple occasions due to financial anomalies! All round terrible. I use it through necessity, not choice. Then if it isn’t I have to type in all my card details (AND EMAIL!) every time! Then there’s the fact that there have been multiple times I can’t book my child’s lunches for the week because the app just will not work. Lastly I have found that I can book the week’s lunches but if my child changes his mind and I try to change an option it will make me pay again! Clearly haven’t had any user experience or real world use. Sometimes the app is down. Spurious bookings. Confusing menu structure. Why show the dinner booking days with option to bring lunch? Just don’t book that day! As a software developer myself I’d be embarrassed to be a part of the team who shipped this in its current state. The developer needs to sort out the numerous problems with the app from accessing it (crashes immediately) to glitchy functions. Dreadful experience, no way to save card details and always have to quit app and relaunch to get Apple Pay option…. That’s when it loads at all. Hate using it! ### 1/5 — Absolutely awful App *2026-01-13, version 1.8.9* Schools really should use this themselves before forcing parents to use it for all payments and communications. It’s quite possibly the worst app I’ve ever used and is absolutely not fit for purpose. Making payments is arduous and near on impossible. Apple Pay has been made available once in 6 years. The other times I have to manually input card details, which is a pain because I have to dig out my card. The major problem lies when it’s for a larger payment and you have to authorise the transaction through the bank. It’s actually impossible to complete and click that you’ve authorised the transaction due to how the app has been coded. The only option is to cancel and try again the following day and hope you don’t need bank authorisation. This app and company is a complete shambles and schools need better vetting of services they outsource. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Does the job *2026-03-29, version 1.8.9* But could be better, Apple Pay shows only sometimes. Card details don’t save so you have to input card details on a weekly basis. I’ve had to reinstall the app a few times because there are no dinner bookings are there it only shows messages , notice board, term calendar in the dropdown. ### 4/5 — Useful but mildly frustrating *2023-10-15, version 1.8.5* My child’s school uses this for payments. It gets the job done and is simple to use. However, the UI needs some love from a designer. Also, it would be very helpful if it used iCloud Keychain so it can store my card details; currently you have to type all card details every time. ### 4/5 — Great app. *2018-06-23* First I’d like to say thanks to the developer and I can see potential as it gets more widely known about. We’re on version 1.7 so I guess this is a relatively new app. Me personally am only interested in the messages and timetables but the school my child goes to only use the message feature at this time but I guess they will explore other features later. The only improvements I’d like to ask for at this moment is: 1, a message notification on the icon sat on the desktop to alert me of a new message. I have to open the app to check for new messages. 2, when you open up messages it goes straight to the bottom where the new messages are sat. ### 3/5 — Poor app *2025-05-16, version 1.8.6* It started off being a great app but now I can’t even open the links the school post ### 3/5 — When paying for your child’s school meals and trips is suppose to be made easier! *2025-03-30, version 1.8.6* Wouldn’t it be helpful if you could get into the app? It keeps saying error with server connection but no matter what server it is connected to it still doesn’t work. This is after the app signed me out once again. Nothing easy about this system especially when the paying options are different every time you go to checkout ### 3/5 — Apple Pay…. 🤦🏽‍♂️ *2024-12-20, version 1.8.5* The app is okish, the main pain point is payments, it shows up sometimes which is great!, but majority of times you gotta go around to go get your card details to complete the transaction; and by murphy’s law, when you are going to do a transaction and you have your card ready, Apple Pay appears. It would be great if they fix that. ### 3/5 — Notifications *2024-12-11, version 1.8.5* The app is good however notifications sometimes take until the next day to come through which means I miss things. A message was put on at 13.19 yesterday and I didn’t get it until 4.30 today… ### 3/5 — Needs Apple Pay consistently! *2024-11-14* The app is good in itself, whilst a bit clunky in some areas. The main frustration is payments!! Sometimes Apple Pay is there (very infrequently) and most times it’s not!! Why it isn’t consistent - who knows?! If Apple Pay is not present the app has recently started asking for additional details when you enter card details, such as email… which you then have to type in. Surely this could be pre populated from the account? If Apple Pay can’t be consistent, surely a lodged card would be a good solution!? The necessity to repeatedly enter card details makes the UX very poor. The type of parents that use this app are busy, needing to book breakfast clubs etc. Whilst the app is set up for some basic functions it could do a lot better to assist. A bit disappointed - particularly so after having got out of bed to grab a card to book breakfast club, only to find Apple Pay has miraculously appeared this time! Imagine my shock! This must be the 3rd time it has been available this year 🤷🏼‍♀️ ### 3/5 — Oddity with Apple Pay *2024-06-05, version 1.8.5* A bug that needs fixing. You have to sigh out and then back in for the option to pay by Applepay appears. Sometimes you can use Apple Pay and sometimes only card payments come up.
