## What is TeachMe Colors 1?

Learning should feel like play.

TeachMe Colours 1 is the first in a series of 3 early learning apps designed to help young children discover colour through simple, playful activities. Created for toddlers and preschoolers, it introduces 11 colours through touch, repetition, art, and music.

With five engaging activities, parents and carers can guide children through colour recognition step by step while keeping the experience fun, relaxed, and age-appropriate.

Features:

Male or female speech
Automatic Colours/Colors spelling based on region
5 interactive learning activities
11 colours to explore
Finger painting with save-to-photos support
Music activity with 2 instrument choices

Activity 1: Discover one colour at a time
Children focus on a single expanding circle, helping them learn each colour name without distraction.

Activity 2: Compare colours side by side
A new random set of 4 colours appears each time, helping children notice differences and build recognition through repetition. This is particularly helpful if your child has trouble differentiating between certain colours.

Activity 3: Paint Pictures
Children choose colours from the palette and paint familiar objects such as a hat, flower, balloon, fish, and teddy bear. This helps connect colour words with real-world objects, such as Red Hat or Yellow Flower. It also helps children recognise that multiple colours can be connected to objects such as White Balloon, Pink Balloon or Blue Balloon.

Activity 4: Free Drawing
Children can finger paint freely and create their own colourful artwork. Drawings can be saved to Photos to share with family and friends.

Activity 5: Music Studio
Children explore colour through sound by tapping musical colour keys. Simple tunes and nursery rhymes can be played using combinations of the 7 colours available and either of the two different instruments. An example of this is given within the app.

TeachMe Colours 1 is designed around play-based learning and guided interaction. Every child learns at a different pace, and the activities are flexible enough to support both first-time learners and children ready for more confident colour recognition.

Developed by Nigel Green with the support of his wife Elizabeth, who has a background in Early Childhood, and inspired by hands-on learning with their young grandson Eli.
