TeamSink was created out of a need in the marketplace to assist team coaches and administrators in finding more games against other teams, whether a scrimmage or a sanctioned league. Not only does TeamSink fill a void in the team management software landscape, but our vision is also to make our application a multi-sport platform for all types of teams, leagues, and organizers to use. TeamSink is a community sports platform that focuses on connecting teams and game officials (RefereeSync) to do the fun stuff: play! Through a simple onboarding process, each team can be added to our platform to search for other teams to play. To make a game happen, our algorithm matches teams of equal levels and has value-added features to include referees and/or match officials. Our platform will offer any coach or administrator convenience and ease of use for the teams they represent. All teams that use TeamSink can easily onboard, define their team’s ability, find a referee, and be matched with a team to play. RefereeSync is an added application within TeamSink that allows individual referees, umpires, and game officials to sign up independently of a local assignor. Any referee with the proper credentials will instantly be available to work once a team decides to use a referee. Our easy onboarding allows a referee to offer their services in minutes. Our research has found that experienced referees are often busier and more demanding while inexperienced referees are being left out. This ultimately results in beginner officials leaving the craft due to inactivity.
