However, not being able to keep the in-game updates of timekeeping and chat feature of live games is lacking. It would also be great to have the ability to see parents contact information or player profile pictures. It’s always great putting faces to names when you forget them or are on a new team. ### 1/5 — Not one to complain, but… *2026-08-08, version 1.38.0* I am about the last person to complain, but the TeamSnap One capabilities are a major step back. Read the other reviews to see what got lost. Those things were important in actually running a team. I can’t even figure out how to download my roster. Why? ### 1/5 — Original Teamsnap is so much better *2026-08-08, version 1.38.0* Teamsnap One has eliminated most of the functions that made original Teamsnap so great. The new team chat is limited, there is no longer an email option, no alerts, no live chatting, no ability to make rsvp notes for attendance, etc. I am so sad this awful app is replacing Teamsnap ### 1/5 — Downhill *2026-08-07, version 1.38.0* I don’t know who or what was the motivation behind the “upgrade” from Teamsnap to this One app, but it’s worse all nearly all accounts. More difficult to use, fewer features, and overall a downgrade to end users and team planners alike. ### 1/5 — Missing Essential Functionality *2026-08-06* This app feels like it was released before it was ready. It is missing several basic features that are essential for managing a team efficiently, and it will require significant updates before it is a practical replacement for the previous experience. Some of the biggest issues include: * No web portal is available; all management must be done through the mobile app. * Recurring events cannot be edited as a series. Each event must be updated individually, creating unnecessary work. * Players and additional contacts can only be added through the mobile app; this functionality is not available elsewhere. * There is no option to upload media (such as field maps, forms, or other team documents) except within the team chat, making important resources difficult to organize and access. * Several standard features that were available previously are now missing, resulting in reduced functionality. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-08-05* This “upgraded” app got rid of all the features I found useful in the original teamsnap app. I can no longer see player contact information easily without clicking to call someone or send an email. You can no longer send a group email through the app. While the chat is nice it’s not always efficient for some messages. I can no longer view and sync each team individually on the calendar. This is very inconvenient when having multiple kids playing multiple sports. You can no longer enter games or even see teams on a computer which means everything has to be done through the mobile app. This makes it take significantly longer to enter a full season’s worth of games and practices. The more I use the app the less I like it which is why I’m choosing to use a different app even though my club uses teamsnap one. Even free apps are better than this paid one. ### 1/5 — Downgrade *2026-08-02* This app is awful. Team snap original is a lot easier to use (minus all the annoying ads) but this app is brutal. Please fix it so it. Has the same functionality of team snap. ### 1/5 — Too many missing features *2026-08-02* Cleaner interface but so many missing features that were incredibly useful like emailing the entire team. No email option. No desktop/web-based features. No in app notifications. As a coach, lacking way too many features to be useful. Wish we had tested first before swapping over. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-08-01* This is absolutely not great. Everything is more difficult. Importing rosters from the old TeamSnap is a nightmare because the CSV from the old program doesn’t match the new one. I brought very basic information over since it was so difficult. One of the issues I had was the primary contact name CSV output was one value in the old app but now it’s two so I just copied the last name in the first name space figuring the parent could change it. They could not change it, and I could not change it. I created my own player under my account just to test it. I couldn’t even delete the test player I made. I literally had to update the primary contact to another email and then remove myself. I can’t even fathom why the import template wouldn’t be the same as the export template from the old app when they asked everyone to bring their own stuff over. The only option I see to successfully import. Everything would be the individual individually copy each cell in the CSV to the correct import CSV. From an ease of use standpoint, it’s actually more difficult to manage than the old app. I’ve been researching a few other apps and pretty much everything else I’ve seen is better. For a customer service point they are horrible. They’ve assigned a liaison that is supposed to be answering our questions, but I’m averaging 4 to 5 days for any sort of response from them. I’m trying to convince my program to get rid of TeamSnap and go with another one, but if they don’t I’m pretty much to the point where I will personally pay out of my own pocket to use another program or I’ll just find a free one. Right now I’m looking at SportNinja and Spond. I’ve spoken a few times to the reps at SportNinja and generally get a response back in a few hours. Unless I log on tomorrow and find out if they’ve made it possible for me to do everything that I used to be able to do in Team Snap interest in this program anymore. I actually don’t even get the positive reviews on here either I’m an idiot reps writing these things. ### 1/5 — Inferior App *2026-07-30, version 1.37.0* After using the original version of TeamSnap for two years as a team manager I hate this version of the app so much, but was told our club was forced to migrate over. The developer would need to change a laundry list of things to get close to the use and functionality of the old version. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly for team management *2026-07-30* TeamSnap ONE lacks much of the best features of the original TeamSnap app. It is difficult for parents to add contact information. As a manager, I lack the ability to add contact information for other team members. Additionally, while you can bulk schedule a re-occurring practice, there is no ability to make bulk changes (such as for a new time or field number). This means if something changes to a previously scheduled regular event, you must individually change each time entry. It is also frustrating that you can no longer pin messages to the top. It is much less user friendly and takes more work to manage the team with TeamSnap ONE than with the original TeamSnap app. ### 1/5 — Huge downgrade *2026-07-29* This is a massive downgrade from the regular version of TeamSnap. I don’t understand why they created something missing so much of the functionality of the other one. No ability to add assignments, can’t use a desktop to draft emails and add the schedule, schedule updates flood the group chat, the UI is overly busy, etc etc…at the very least keep all the functionality of the original before pushing out something new that is far worse. I really wish our club hadn’t moved over to this platform. ### 1/5 — Horrible Team Management *2026-07-29, version 1.37.0* Read the rest of the one star reviews because no reason to repeat all of that. I will add there is no ability for me to send parents reminders to select their ability for an event or to vote on a poll, like seriously basic team administration function completely missing. ### 1/5 — So many problems *2026-07-27* This app is exponentially worse than the original. 1/ As the team manager I relied on being able to see the parent emails/ player birthdates right in the app so I can register for tournaments. This is no longer visible and I have to click into each parents name to start an “email” them in order to get the emails creating so much extra work. 2/ Scheduling - I used to be able to schedule on desktop which was much faster than app when inputting a 9 month season, this is no longer available. 3/ I can create series of events but I can’t edit or delete a series of events, like I used to be able to. I accidentally put the wrong time and had to manually update 26 instances. ### 1/5 — Horrible experience *2026-07-27* Find another alternative!! If you used the previous version as a coach or administrator, you will be beyond frustrated with the “new upgrade”. Everything is on the mobile app (no desktop version) so you cannot view more than one practice attendance at a time, must load every event individually, cannot sync schedules with other calendars (helpful for busy parents with more than one child playing more than one sport, etc.). Don’t waste your time with this one. Find a replacement solution!! ### 1/5 — Downgrade from Tramsnap *2026-07-23* Was forced to move from TeamSnap to TeamSnap One by my organization. As a coach, I find TeamSnap One very limiting in my communication ability with parents. I can no longer send mass emails and can only communicate to the team via messaging. I needed to forward a hotel booking email that contained hyperlinks, there is no way for me to do so using TeamSnap One. Hyperlinks don’t work in messages. I used to be able to send team emails using TeamSnap. Why would they take that option away? Complete failure of an “upgrade” **Developer response:** Hi and thanks for your review! People intentionally left crossbar, so they could use a more user friendly platform, but then they came out with team snap ONE and it is worse than cross bar. Managers cannot email teams. You cannot see who placed reactions in chats. You can’t even use your computer to do anything with your team. This is the worse sports app. ### 1/5 — Lack of features *2026-08-23* Not having the features like using a web interface is less than ideal when managing multiple teams and clubs. And I feel like it is more time consuming and less user friendly. Not sure the user experience testing was done to the level it needed to be. ### 1/5 — Pay wall *2026-08-18* Gross, how dare you ask me to pay another subscription on top of all the other fees just to see a freaking team schedule of a te I already paid for my child to be on, or the alternative is to waste my time with bs ads to get pass the pay wall. Also when you sync calendars, it syncs all events regardless of the team you want to sync. For example, if I wanted to sing just one of my kids schedules that’s on the app, it won’t let me. It’ll sync kid number one schedule as well as kid number two schedule. This is such a downgrade. ### 1/5 — Don’t do it *2026-08-16, version 1.39.0* So cluttered. No place to upload pictures, files or anything. Everything goes into the chat making it a nightmare to keep up with what is needed to see. Multiple kids, forget it. Use the original team snap. This one isn’t it. ### 1/5 — Awful *2026-08-15* The new version of this app is awful. I used to be able to run the clock in a live feed of games. Now there is no clock and no way to add commentary. It literally only allows you to keep score and add a picture or video. Or, you can live stream if you pay a fee. Awful. Also, you can’t just see contact info.. You have to click into it and it kicks you over to your mail app like you’re going to send an email. You also cannot access this app from a desktop. Terrible “upgrades”. ### 1/5 — Just a giant step backward *2026-08-13, version 1.39.0* I have never seen an app downgrade every aspect of its functionality like this. It’s terrible from a manager’s point of view and it somehow got worse in game. I will be looking for an alternative and will switch away after five years of using TeamSnap as soon as possible. ### 1/5 — More of a Downgrade than an Upgrade *2026-08-13* This app is terrible. Outside of messaging, no useful functionality compared to the previous version. There is no online version available for use either. No player data exports. No stat tracking. No way to email information to people. There is no good reason to switch to this platform whatsoever, especially if you’ve used the regular TeamSnap version or another platform. ### 1/5 — TeamSnap One Is a Major Step Backward for Team Managers *2026-08-12, version 1.39.0* I have used the original TeamSnap platform for several years as both a team manager and a parent. While the original platform was not perfect, it provided practical features that made managing a team much easier, including web browser access for team managers and the ability to communicate by email. TeamSnap One feels like a significant step backward. Web access is now limited to club administrators and directors, which means team managers are expected to enter schedules, tournaments, practices, locations, and detailed event information through a mobile app. Entering that amount of information on a phone is inefficient and unnecessarily frustrating, especially when it could be completed much faster and more accurately with a keyboard and web browser. Communication options have also been reduced. Previously, I could send emails to the team in addition to using chat. Now, I appear to be limited to the built-in chat feature, which is less flexible and not always appropriate for detailed team announcements. I opened a support ticket about the lack of browser access. TeamSnap’s proposed solution was for the club to grant me a higher level of access than I should need as a team manager. That is not a reasonable solution. A properly designed platform should provide permissions appropriate to each role, not require a club to grant excessive administrative access so a volunteer can perform basic team-management tasks from a web browser. TeamSnap One may work well for players, parents, club administrators, and directors. However, for team managers—the volunteers responsible for entering schedules, organizing tournaments, sharing information, and handling much of the day-to-day administrative work—the experience is extremely poor. The people doing most of the work seem to have been given the fewest practical tools to do it. I have worked in IT for more than 25 years, with experience spanning application development and design, systems administration, systems and network architecture, cybersecurity, IT operations, and technology management. From both a user-experience and security perspective, I am genuinely surprised that these limitations were introduced as part of a supposed platform upgrade. Removing useful functionality, forcing volunteers to perform administrative work from a mobile device, and recommending excessive permissions as a workaround are not improvements. Had I known the club was moving to TeamSnap One and been aware of its limitations before I agreed to be a team manager again, I would have declined the role. Team managers are volunteers, and the platform should make their responsibilities easier, not create additional frustration and unnecessary work. Someone from our club indicated that the organization was required to move to TeamSnap One, although I have not been able to confirm whether that is true. If clubs still have the option to remain on the original platform, my recommendation is simple: do not migrate until TeamSnap One is actually an upgrade. In its current form, TeamSnap One is not an upgrade. It is a less capable product that makes team management more difficult for the people responsible for doing the work. If someone from TeamSnap would like to reach out, I would be happy to walk them through these issues from the perspective of an experienced team manager, parent, and IT professional. A successful upgrade begins with understanding how customers actually use the product, preserving the functionality they depend on, and making their work easier rather than taking essential tools away. ### 1/5 — Absolutely Horrible *2026-08-10* Who makes a new app that is less user friendly and has less features and options than its previous version. This in no way is an upgrade but a significant downgrade from the previous version. However, it would be nice to have an option to pull in the Apple Calendar subscriptions with an option to keep them separate if desired. I find it helpful to color code the family calendar per kid so I can distinguish who has practice or games on which day, but the current format combines them and they cannot be easily distinguished if the club names them similarly. But I do enjoy seeing all calendars together in the same view of the app! I can easily update the schedule, live stream their games, and chat with the team. I’ve used the new poll feature for parents to sign up for weekly snack duty! The practice plan content for both sports is great.
