### 3/5 — +stars 4 <Wired

*2025-09-28, version 8.0.2*

4th star if you can delete Wired. It's like a breath of stink.

### 4/5 — 5th star if you can delete Wired

*2025-09-21*

5th star if you can delete Wired. It's like a breath of stink.

### 3/5 — Good but Bad

*2025-03-29*

I wanted a tech focused news feed and this on comes close. The problem is there is no way to curate the feeds to try and get rid of biased or political content or context locked behind a pay-wall. (Can Wired really be considered a tech publisher at this point?!). With better feed management, this would be a great program.

### 2/5 — And now plagued by paid sources

*2024-12-14*

Most of the best tech news one can get through your app come from The Verge and Wired… now with The Verge under a new subscription scheme (or racket), I’m pretty much locked out from tech news. Please consider adding a very helpful option on your app the add or suppress sources; a place where one could turn off Wired and The Verge, and keep the free services on, for starters.

### 2/5 — Not bad

*2022-01-02*

Cant find any way to remove feeds and that leaves a lot of junk in there that only gives you a headline while putting the rest behind a paywall.

### 3/5 — Not able to control which source you want

*2020-02-01*

Too many news source and I cannot customize it myself.

### 4/5 — Very nice, but make it easier to add favs

*2019-07-11*

The app is nice and clean but initial setup of your favs is laborious.

### 3/5 — Good but

*2019-03-19, version 7.3.4*

It’s doing a good job à giving access to individual sites but there is no way to aggregate the result in one unified view.

### 4/5 — Good app and fun to use but

*2019-03-06, version 7.3.4*

It’s all good but they should optimize it for the new iPad Pro 11 inch. (Different aspect ratio)

### 5/5 — Just.... Perfect Now!

*2018-06-02*

All this app needed was iPhone X support... now it has it! It’s official! I’m hooked!

### 5/5 — Très bonne appli

*2018-01-03, version 7.2*

Cette appli regroupe plein de flux en provenance de site techno des US, et cerise sur le gâteau vous pouvez importer des flux de vos sites préférés si ils en proposent

### 4/5 — This app is a beast!

*2017-12-06*

Within seconds I realized this app was made for me. The brutally intuitive design instantly answered some major complaints I've had about other news apps. I literally went to my phone's home screen and deleted an entire folder filled with now useless tech news apps.

• For those who complain about having to open Safari to read full articles, I am sure there's plenty of hoops to jump through to legally get full-length articles displayed - and it'd probably mean more ads or a higher premium. For 2 bucks to remove the already unobtrusive ads, this is a steal!

• Also, using Safari means I can open the article in reader mode (Safari's night mode) - which for some dumb reason - other iOS browsers don't have this feature. Yes, I know you can use smart invert, but in many apps it inverts images too.

• I cannot overstate the ease of use for this app. At any time within the app, with one tap (or swipe) you can view the long list of major tech news publications. You can switch from list to thumbnail view. You can add favorites, etc.

It's brilliantly simple. Stop reading this stupid review and go download it before this app blows up and the developer charges for it. I'd pay 5 bucks for this app, easy.

### 3/5 — The font

*2017-11-30, version 7.2*

I recommend developers to add SF font display for main text, Georgia is excellent but lack readability on iPhone.

### 3/5 — Lacking in support

*2017-11-12, version 7.2*

Used to love this app, but lately it's lacking in updates, crashes a lot on iOS 11, isn't optimised for iPhone X and ads keep appearing when i paid to remove them. Would recommend just using the native iOS News app unless these issues are addressed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not very customizable, articles require subscriptions

*2022-09-04*

Feed fills with articles that require a subscription, and cannot remove them from the feed (Wired for example).

### 1/5 — ADS keep appearing after purchase.

*2021-10-21*

Every time the developer updates the app the adds reappear. This is totally unacceptable and should be fixed. I shouldn’t have to restore my purchase constantly. My guess is this breaks App Store rules and so I will be reporting them.

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2020-01-08, version 8.0*

The app used to be good but lacks updates. I paid for the Ad free version but it keeps showing ads so have to restore purchases however keeps asking to pay again emailed support a number of times but no response.

Update after a long long time the app has been updated. Unfortunately the restore purchase still fails to work so I’m still seeing ads even though I have paid not to

### 1/5 — Fraud ad pop up

*2019-07-28*

The ads have been getting worse in this app, more frequent. Today the app passed along a fraudulent ‘you phone has been compromised ad.’

Yep delete.

### 1/5 — Good Concept, Poor Execution.

*2019-07-06*

The widget is trash; Constantly has to be reset. The settings in the app do not stick.

### 1/5 — Don’t purchase

*2018-10-04, version 7.3.4*

Purchased the app in order to remove ads. Every day have to restore purchase; contacted the developer, no response. Would rate 5 stars because app feeds all the tech news into one place.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2016-08-30, version 4.0.2*

I recently downloaded the app but haven't been able to open the app at all.

FYI: I am using iPhone5s and if this is fixed, I would happily rate a 5 star for this app as I support its cause.

### 1/5 — Crash n BURNT

*2014-09-24, version 3.0*

Crashes crashes n more crashes....😡

### 1/5 — Dr

*2014-09-20, version 3.0*

TechPort doesn't work with iOS 8
You couldn't make it up.

### 1/5 — doesnt load articles past a certain time

*2014-07-14, version 2.4*

the app only loads articles that are on the first page of a feed. it doesnt let you go any further back than that.

useless without such a needed feature for a newsreader.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best tech news app

*2025-01-12, version 8.0.2*

No fuss tech news app

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2024-03-17*

I would like to see all the channels in a single feed. I’m not sure if that is possible. Also how does the Feeds portion work? I don’t see an option to add sources to feeds. Overall the app is awesome. Very happy with all the sources of tech news that are available in a single place. The app has dark mode and reader mode as well. A single in that purchase removes ads. I’d be willing to pay for more features.

### 5/5 — One of the few apps I still love

*2022-05-08*

Thank you to the creators for not exploiting the app with a bunch of ads

### 5/5 — Great App but get ads after purchase

*2020-10-27*

This is a great looking app with all the big tech sites. My only issue is even after I purchased the app to remove ads, I still see ads if left open on the background. The only way to remove ads again is to kill the app and re launch it.

### 5/5 — Best App ever..

*2020-09-18*

Not ready for iOS14, widgets missing

### 5/5 — 기대 이상

*2019-07-30*

### 5/5 — Nicely done

*2018-11-25*

Great app. If you want to keep up with Tech news, this is the THE app to use.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2018-08-13*

Has everything a tech head needs. It could replace three apps with all the useful info included.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2018-07-16*

This app is absolutely amazing great format and smooth transitions. I’m very curious to know what application you used to make this app , as a new app developer I’m lost for words for this app!

### 5/5 — Best RSS

*2018-07-10, version 7.3.4*
