Something went wrong. Leader try again later.” This has been an issue for months with no resolution. And my login is correct as I can login on the website with the same credentials. ### 1/5 — Same banner stories for 2 years *2025-09-09, version 4.9.6* The app has had the same stories in the top banner for 2 years, like they got rid of the person who knew how to update it and nobody can figure it out, haven't noticed yet, or the staff was entirely replaced by AI. Speaking of which, the stories now appear to be almost entirely AI generated. I used to like CNET for my tech news, but it appears to be irrevocably broken now. ### 2/5 — Outdated version *2025-07-18, version 4.9.5* Every time I click on an email it opens with “you’re using an outdated version”. So I update to the newest version but I keep getting the same “outdated version” message. For example, here are the first five stories in my “latest” feed: - Top ISPs in Butte, Montana (I don’t live in Montana) - Todays NYT crisis hints (I don’t do crosswords or visit NYT) - Todays NYT sports highlights (I don’t follow sports) - Today’s Worldle hints (never played, don’t care) - What is ChatGPT (seriously?) - Best auto insurance deals (ugh) - Travel tips for adventure over 60 (I’m nowhere near 60) - Today’s best Amazon deals (more ads) The app doesn’t show anything useful or interesting, but it does really, really, really want me to install a Safari extension so they can monetize my browsing. Got me so confused and zoned out that I simply deleted all CNET apps because I don’t have the time to think about what will be in the coming months lol ### 1/5 — No longer updating *2026-08-03, version 4.9.10* I have been an avid follower of CNET over many years. I really looked forward to reading the latest tech news every day. It was always the CNET app that I went to for the latest updates and product reviews. Unfortunately the daily updates have stopped. I've been online trying to solve the issue even to deleting the app and reinstalling it - to no avail. I've tried deleting the app and waiting for a few days (I so missed it in this time) and again reinstalling but again no joy. I'm in the UK so I wonder whether this has anything to do with it now? Tried removing the app and reinstalling with the same issues. App support option just goes to the actual website, which has updated articles.
