And now all I get is “request error” when I try to log in. It’s gone downhill big time since initial purchase. ### 1/5 — Awful App and Product *2025-01-06, version 1.2.8* To turn on your light you need an account, share location services, know your WiFi info by heart, cross 2 bridges with a troll under each, and then climb a mountain to reach a remote mailbox where you can mail a letter to request that the light turn on. This is the worst experience ever. ### 2/5 — Functional, but flawed *2025-01-02, version 1.2.8* The light bulb works well, and I do like having the ability to turn it on and off from a distance, however, this app does have a lot of very apparent shortcomings. Firstly, it takes incredibly long to load for no apparent reason. If I’m trying to turn on my light to walk across my room and place a few things down, it’d be easier to just use my flashlight than wait for thirty seconds to connect to the singular light I have Secondly, and maybe most importantly, there are advertisements built into the app, forcing me to look at products that I don’t even want every time I decide to turn on my light. This is scummy, annoying, and far from ideal, especially when using a product that you paid for. Thirdly, the button displaying whether or not the light is turned on is often bugged, showing it in the opposite state. This is more of a minor nitpick than anything, but still. Finally, it seems that, for some reason, the speed of the automatic color changing options are tied to the brightness and saturation sliders as well as the speed slider, making darker tones cycle much faster. I rarely use this option so, again, this is a very small issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I’m not sure if there are better alternatives, since I was given this as a gift and don’t actually know this market well, but I’d encourage those on the fence to check. ### 1/5 — Unprofessional mess *2024-12-24, version 1.2.8* I just loaded up the app to quickly check who is at the front door. 1) Had to log in again because it can't handle multiple devices. 2) Faced with full screen video advert with no obvious way to get past it. Even when it works, it can take several minutes to view a recording. So if you think something may have happened a few seconds ago, you need to wait 5 minutes. The UI is annoying. When trying to scrub through footage the UI is constantly coming and going and just getting in the way. During a daylight saving shift, this completely throws it off and footage cant be viewed until you reset the time. At times it will must stop recording and you only realise days later when you need it (a reboot sorts this). This app is a frustrating convoluted mess which has never been improved. Stay well clear of this brand. I'm done. ### 1/5 — Was good until they inserted those ads… *2024-12-24, version 1.2.8* And all the bugs that came along with them. I never would have bought these smart plugs if I knew they were going to start forcing me to watch ads to turn them on and off. You get an advert for something you’re not interested in on startup. When I try to change the time settings it crashes (this is with Teckin sockets). My light timers have been skipped multiple times, making the automation useless because you simply cannot trust it to work properly. There is also an obvious bug where switching a device directly from the main app screen freezes the entire app, forcing a full restart every time. Basic functionality like this should not be broken in a finished product. That is the whole purpose of having my cameras and installing the SD cards. Now they are useless. I bought a outdoor sensor light from them and registered for warranty the sensor stop working after a month they replaced the light for me. I have a few indoor colour changing night lights for the kids and they have always worked flawlessly and I just bought an exterior wifi plug for my Edison lights in the garden so far so good. I cannot speak on other people experience with this company mine has always been positive and that made in China = it’s cheap is getting old everything is manufactured in China get over it. Once again you this company has always done right by me. The audio from and to the cameras is not the best, definitely could be improved.
