Too many ads at start up and breaking up articles. Now you have to subscribe to view more than 20 articles a week - why bother? App and account deleted. ### 2/5 — App Broken *2025-06-06* Since the last update stories keep automatically scrolling down to the adverts at the bottom of the page. Making it impossible to read to read the content ### 2/5 — Woke paper *2025-05-27, version 9.5.1* Lets you comment on but not on black very onesided ### 2/5 — Failed to Send *2024-03-30, version 9.2.3* 1 in 3 posts fail to send, very annoying and surely the techies know this so fix it or tell the users how to avoid the problem. Readers spend time putting together a script only to see it erased. Not a good app. PC version is so much better. ### 2/5 — Only want your subscription *2023-10-24* This was ok at first then all of a sudden it kept showing Premium stories that you couldn’t see until you paid for subscription, then it started limiting how many stories you could see each day . So deleted the app. ### 4/5 — Looks better but reduced navigation! *2023-10-21, version 9.1.0* The latest update (Oct 23) certainly improves the look, but not the feel. Gone is the ability to swipe left and right through articles which means having to go into an article, come back out to Home page, scroll down to the next one, go into it, read, come back out and repeat!!! The BBC did exactly the same in their last app update and have now changed this which has much improved the navigation. Please take a leaf out of their book and react to feedback. What remains the same is the high percentage of typos, repeated words etc. not relevant to the update, I know, but don’t you have proof readers or a QC process?? ### 3/5 — Repetitive *2023-09-01, version 8.3.5* It is a good app for what is going on in our area’s. The issue I have is with the reporters that repeat the sentences over and over again. ### 1/5 — Local news graveyard *2023-06-28, version 8.3.5* There’s no relevant news here, unless you are a local bigwig getting a free ride, no critical evaluation but plenty of cronyism. It’s a shame as the gazette used to be essential reading for Teessiders. Say anything about any of the councils or police in the area breaking the rules and you just ge a message that says failed to send. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press don’t exist with this app ### 1/5 — The sport writing is crap *2023-01-18* The nob sock who writes the sports section isn't even local to the area and he is so fat and lazy that he doesn't even check his work for factual correctness or even basic spelling. Very often it reads like a 7 year old has written a piece. He should be fired along with all the other lack lustre hacks at the EG ### 2/5 — App not working as planned *2023-01-06, version 8.2.0* App is slow to update news and commenting doesn't appear to work. When you click on it, it just says "opps there's a problem and we're writing on it " ### 1/5 — MORE ADS THAN ARTICLES *2022-12-20* The amount of ads on the Home Screen and every article is ridiculous, I’ve just read an article of 4/5 paragraphs and each was separated with an ad. It’s frustrating, the app is the only way I can read the news as I don’t live in the area anymore but I’d rather live in ignorance than see that many ads ### 1/5 — Failed to send! *2022-12-19, version 8.2.0* This most annoying bug has been going on for about 1 year, maybe longer and you still haven’t fixed that, WHY NOT? ### 2/5 — Never able too see comments….. *2022-09-07, version 8.1.2* For as long as I can remember I cannot see left comments due to the oops warning! I can then sign in again to make comments but after a while same again. After writing a few words the page frame disappears below the type line making it extremely difficult to complete the comment. Can you please advise what I need to do to keep the frame open and accessible whilst typing.
