Without that, a studio assistant has to stand next to the camera and move the text by hand reading it backwards, and risk being in the camera's FOV. This is a great product but that awkwardness has me now searching for alternatives. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2014-04-17* MacBookPro and iPhone 5s ... On same wifi network. Does not work. Truly. Cheap and VERY useful. However, the iPhone app lacks functionality. It's awkward, and 2/3 of the time, the speed adjuster on the iPhone app does not speed up or slow down the momentum of the text on the Mac app. If they can get this fixed....it will be a gem. Unfortunately it fails to do what it proposes. ### 1/5 — Nope *2020-03-18, version 3.0.1* Just doesn’t work at all Shame, because the app on the laptop is quite good and I would have bought it but without a remote control it’s useless to me. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on it’s own | Waste of money *2019-06-25* This app does not work alone. App launches and the screen is frozen with no functionality. Many others with this same issue. This app used to run independently from other apps and with no connection to the internet after initial download (if you didn’t have access to WiFi for example)....why change the product to work differently in a negative way? Strange. Waste of money. ### 1/5 — Controller doesn't work *2015-10-23* Like other reviewers the Telepromoter controller doesn't work on my iPhones. On my iPhone 6+ it won't even load. I tap the icon but nothing happens. As the last update was in 2011 i wondered whether it hadn't been configured for the 6 so I also tried it on an iPhone 5S. On the latter it loads but it's just an image and none of the buttons work. This app and it's related app Telepromoter version 1.1 are potentially good but are not being maintained. Mr Luke Brody, the developer, is asleep at the wheel. Pity because he has something good here if he'd just keep things up to date. ### 1/5 — DOESNT WORK *2015-10-08* why would you release this, it doesn't work, did you even test it? Such a simple product in that you obviously created it and if you created it it's simple to you, but for someone like me all I see is, your product is a failure. Go back to the drawing board fix it test then do it again! I have the iPad setup in front of the camera on a reflector screen, and the iPhone in hand. The controller lets you speed up and slow down, stop the display. The best teleprompter setup I have tried. The controller is free but I paid for the iPhone app. I am happy with it. ### 5/5 — Works great *2020-05-18* I’m able to control the Teleprompter APP on my iPad and on my MacBook Pro with no issues. I’m using an iPhone XS. ### 5/5 — Works great as advertised. *2017-08-21, version 2.0* The old Teleprompter Controller from many years ago never worked properly. This one however works perfectly as advertised with the new version of the Teleprompter Mac App from the same developer. I'm running this TPController App on iPhone 4s, 5s, 7, and iPad Air (iPad runs iPhone version). I was really impressed at how instant and effortless it was for this iOS App to find the Mac App and present all of the open Teleprompter screens for control. No tech or fiddling around to get it to sync. I just launched the App and there is all the Teleprompter screens ready to select and control. There is an excellent PDF Manual to download from the developers website and the developer has been excellent at responding to my support questions. I have made some improvement suggestions to the developer, but the app works perfectly as it is. ### 5/5 — Great TelePrompTer for a Great Price *2011-08-19* Love the Mac app and the iPhone app is so useful. I have to shoot narrative videos and I can run my own show! I also love that you can edit a script right in the teleprompter window. This app would be absolutely amazing if it would split screen and have a horizontal orientation for the iPad. That would be everything I could need and more! ### 4/5 — Works *2018-08-29* Pros: The app works as expected. I like the fact that I can have more than one project and the mobile app can see them. The app response almost in real time, close enough that most will never see any latency. Cons: After a few minutes I have to reconnect to the project from within the app. I would give 5 stars if the app would just stay connected during my sessions. With no updates to this app for some time now, I’m subject to believe they have abandon this app... Request: It would be nice to set a different speed when going in reverse. ### 3/5 — Works OK *2019-09-12, version 3.0.1* Works OK, and over all it’s quite good. I wish you could have the option to just display the play/pause button. I like to have it on my desk and if the text is going a little fast I can just tap the screen while keeping my eyes on the camera to pause for a fraction of a second.
