### 4/5 — Great Update

*2026-05-06, version 6.5.4*

Please consider adding a spot to tracking shoe mileage, i.e shoe name, miles accumulated.

### 4/5 — Great app but unable to reach developer

*2025-07-24, version 6.5.4*

I’ve loved all the features that this app has after a month of subscribing, and the price is totally reasonable, but I tried to reach the developer regarding an issue with walks being tagged as runs and was unable to get a response. I can only give 4 stars in good conscience as a result.

### 4/5 — What happened?

*2025-07-14, version 6.5.4*

What happened to the confetti when you hit a personal best? It doesn’t show up anymore. It’s a simple feature but I really enjoyed seeing it.

### 3/5 — Seems interesting, but paywall

*2025-03-05, version 6.5.4*

Should probably have a free trial so you can explore the features (even just a few days), most functionality is behind the subscription (which isn’t outrageously priced, should just be able to see if the app works for you before committing)

### 5/5 — Perfect running log app

*2024-11-22, version 6.5.2*

I’ve used Tempo for a few years now and love it. It syncs with my smart watch automatically, and keeps track of an amazing variety of data - route maps, distance, speed, cadence, heart rate, totals by week month year etc. if the watch hiccups it’s easy to correct the recorded data by hand. There is literally nothing about this app I do not like, and I am fairly picky. Fantastic piece of software, at a very reasonable price.

### 5/5 — Lovely app

*2024-11-02, version 6.5.2*

This is a terrific running app. Its map has - bless the lord - distance markers unlike many others, and it does splits and segments beautifully. Plus it has all the stats and analysis you need.

### 5/5 — Perfect running app that keeps improving

*2024-10-17, version 6.5.2*

I’ve used this app since 2017 & they keep updating it with features that are actually useful. Not useless features just to say they have something in it. It also has a beautiful user interface. I love that they added a way to import your own workout training plan.

### 5/5 — Suggestion

*2024-10-12*

On top left of the front page instead of days for the cumulative time (last 365) could put it in hours
Thank you

### 5/5 — Why no iPad version?

*2024-09-25, version 6.5.2*

I like the app and have been using it for several years. I’m curious as to why no iPad version, even if it was just a bigger iPhone display? All of the data seems to be available as somehow I do have an older version on my iPad, but now it refuses to update as it isn’t available.

### 5/5 — Best widgets for runners

*2024-09-19, version 6.5.1*

I pay for premium (multiple years) and it’s by far the best app to create a decent run stats widget on your Home Screen, love it. Would love exactly the same but for cycling stats, would pay for another app subscription just for that! Please consider

### 2/5 — Needs a better workout builder and connected planner

*2024-09-14, version 6.5.0*

Reading that the app had the capability to build WorkoutKit running workouts and a planner sounded appealing to me. Upon closer use of both tools, they fall flat.

The workout builder works with the standard set of WorkoutKit rules. However, it arbitrarily limits maximum power alerts to 240W. While building up interval workouts, each interval takes a number of inputs. If a mistake is made in entering data in an interval there is not a way to edit it. One must delete and re-enter the interval details again.

If you manage to successfully enter a long and complex interval workout and want to modify one thing about it, you’re out of luck. Delete and start the tedious task of selecting and entering all the values again.

Assuming you get workouts built to your liking, the next step is to plan them out. The workout planner is a glorified CSV. You pull out a separate spreadsheet and fill in the weeks long details using the provided syntax. Once imported in the app, it displays the information back at you. It makes no connection between the plan and the workouts built within the app. This is a large gap in functionality.

The app looks interesting for looking at personal running stats, but needs a bunch more work to get the workouts and planner in a workable and symbiotic way.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2024-09-14, version 6.5.0*

Great app!

### 5/5 — Super ap

*2024-08-24, version 6.5.0*

I’ve used this ap for maybe four years now, and it keeps on getting better. It’s a fun and easy way to monitor every significant facet of your run. Awesome app.

### 5/5 — It just gets better all the time!

*2024-08-05, version 6.5.0*

I’ve been using Tempo Pro for many years and the updates amaze and inspire me.
Would love it if it would calculate total elevation gain as the app I use during runs and hikes doesn’t send that info to Apple Health. I can always add it in notes from the other behemoth running app; but having it on the first page would be fun. A feature for then graphing total elevation and seeing time instead of distance in the cumulative graph would be cool too. Maybe surprise me with those updates?
Love the update that lets me graph similar runs depending on how I tag them. Trail runs, pavement, usual route, low heart rate, etc. My favorite app for seeing what I’ve done and what I’m doing now. The update of the colors and layout is a work of art! First place I look after a run.

### 5/5 — Awesome app! Better than strava

*2024-07-04, version 6.1.0*

Love the colors

### 4/5 — Good strava alternative

*2024-07-03, version 6.1.0*

A little pricey and don’t forget to aggregate your data or else it will only show average mile times in PRs.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Good app, but basically abandoned

*2026-06-16, version 6.5.4*

The app is good but feels pretty much abandoned. There haven’t been updates in a while, and there are bunch of bugs that have been unfixed for at least a year.

1. The cumulative graph doesn’t switch properly when running or walking are excluded, requiring one more switch between week/month.
2. The goals don’t sync to Watch properly. My watch is still stuck on last year’s goal.

I’m ok with supporting indies with a subscription but this app is clearly abandoned.

### 1/5 — Was a great app, seems like it’s no longer supported

*2026-02-14, version 6.5.4*

Unable to reach the developer after multiple weeks/months of reach out. Tag function no longer working, data does not sync accurately anymore for workouts. Unfortunately had to cancel subscription as a result

### 1/5 — Is this app still being supported?

*2025-07-23, version 6.5.4*

Have not seen any updates recently? Is this app still supported or has it been abandoned??

### 1/5 — Can’t import old workouts

*2025-02-18, version 6.5.4*

Looks great, but tried to import old workouts and now the app constantly crashes.

Tried to email the developer but didn’t hear back.

### 1/5 — Not able to sync my watch

*2024-01-12*

My Apple Watch & iPhone are both updated with the latest OS, but the tempo watch app doesn’t sync with the iPhone and I keep getting a “iPhone out of range” message!!! Please check this

**Developer response:** Hey there, wrong channel to ask for support. I would appreciate if you could email tempo@indie.sh with more info. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Junk app

*2023-10-11, version 5.0.0*

Practically the entire thing is locked behind a suvscription.

### 1/5 — All the features are behind the paywall

*2023-09-28, version 5.0.0*

The app is very pretty, the features it promises seem quite useful, but the entire UI of the app is completely littered with the text “🔒PRO” and greyed-out buttons. The free version is extremely bare-bones. The developer is obviously entitled to paywall the entire app if they so desire, but potential users should be aware of this limitation.

### 1/5 — This only gives you walking/running data not ALL WORKOUTS

*2023-01-02, version 4.2.0*

Highly dissatisfied with this app, it only looks at running/walking exercise and nothing else, which is completely useless for those of us that incorporate other types of workouts.

### 1/5 — Only works with Apple watch...what a joke!

*2021-08-11, version 3.3.4*

Only works with Apple watch...what a joke!

### 1/5 — Health data access

*2021-02-15, version 3.3.1*

When I click on the orange button to give access to the health app it doesn’t go to the next page, please update the app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Used it for years

*2026-05-08, version 6.5.4*

Great app. Has helped me keep on track.

### 5/5 — Love tempo

*2026-02-02, version 6.5.4*

This is a great app for Walkers and runners. It’s easy to use and keeps a record of runs and walks. I use it daily.

### 5/5 — Best Running app

*2025-08-07, version 6.5.4*

I have Strava and TrainingPeaks and the COROS app and others, but (granted they all do slightly different things) this is the most important running app for me. This is my “source of truth” for running.

### 5/5 — Quintessential Training App

*2025-07-26, version 6.5.4*

I use other running apps as well, but I use Tempo to help me in my ultramarathon training (100 miler!) to get a better picture of my overall training distances and weekly average paces with the Cumulative Graph and Intensity Calendar. I also like the “per-mile or per-kilometer” and “per-segment” breakdown of important stats like cadence, pace, vertical oscillation, ground contact time, power, etc. This helps a lot with the varied terrain and areas I run. If I could request two things, I would appreciate a category for each mile / kilometer or segment that shows elevation gain and a grade adjusted pace option for weekly averages, as my routes have a lot of elevation gain.

### 5/5 — great app, small bug

*2025-05-23, version 6.5.4*

I love this app, the only bug that’s a bit annoying is that my cumulative section can’t filter out walks and hikes when I just want to look at running mileage.

### 5/5 — Tempo makes every run count

*2025-05-20, version 6.5.4*

Essential tool for all who
strive to identify as a runner 🧡

### 5/5 — Should be so much more popular than it is

*2025-01-19, version 6.5.3*

This app is amazing. I love the calendar view, and the cumulative graph view - no other app I’ve seen offers these features, and they are such a good way to view, long-term training trends. Then the workout views are as good as apps like HealthFit. I only wish it was available on iPad as well, and that it would take care of syncing workouts to Strava and I would fully switch over from HealthFit.

### 5/5 — One of the best interfaces for workouts in health app

*2024-12-27, version 6.5.2*

Really enjoy interface to health data related to my running workouts! Happy to support development and enjoying using it! I like ability to create custom tags and view history by each tag.

### 5/5 — Great app for runners!

*2024-12-24, version 6.5.2*

I’ve used this app for a couple of years now. It’s just fantastic. You can tell this is designed by a runner. All of the important data points are displayed so well. Love the fact that my data stays private and not sold off. Thank you so much for this app! Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2024-12-16, version 6.5.2*

This is a great app; it stores all my running data in one easy to navigate format, is easy to access and has been a great tool for me for a few years now. Would recommend.
