I find they don’t put out all available shifts to everyone as I have spoken to dentists where I got a few shifts and they asked me why I didn’t take the other ones . It would be nice to know the dentist could choose who they want rather than the other way around .

After using this app for a couple months I was recently suspended due to a false rating from a office. That experience had left me to no longer use this app. As soon as you make a complaint about the office, management will side with the office. As an assistant myself I felt they favour office who are bringing in the money for them. Honestly the app is good for finding temporary shift but very toxic at the same time.

I had a really disappointing experience with TempStars. They don’t take the time to listen to your side of the story or try to understand the situation — they just make decisions without proper communication. It feels like they prioritize speed over fairness, which makes it really difficult for professionals who rely on respect and transparency. I expected better support and accountability.

Really slow at responding to inquiries, with wait times as long as 5 days. Addressing other grievances regarding non compliance from employers also slow to respond. Sometimes responses to specific inquiries are not addressing actual issues. Like most apps, you can’t even speak to anyone directly. Just through emails. The current updates DO NoT offer detailed info about ratings. You’re pretty much left in the dark to figure it out. Very frustrating

Very bad management of this app, they don’t deserve to have many professionals bringing money to their tables, putting accounts on hold for no fair reason, they should at least take a course to have an idea what efficient management is.

I recently installed the app to try and find local dentistry clinics. Unfortunately I was unable to login for around 33 minutes. When I had logged in the app was poorly optimized very laggy and bad quality. According to my sources the app was partially developed using AI, Many of the updates have AI used for them. I do not support AI because of its effect on the environment and also how it’ll affect things like the job market.

Toxic work environment. After cancelling a second shift due to safety and professionalism concerns, the office filed a complaint against me. TempStars automatically sided with the office, ignored my explanation, and issued a 6 month ban. The system is one-sided and does not support hygienists.

I’ve been using TempStars for several years, starting when I was a dental assistant and continuing to temp as a DA throughout dental hygiene school. Now, as a dental hygienist, I still use the platform and have had a very positive experience.

I’ve heard some horror stories about temping, but TempStars has always been helpful and supportive whenever I’ve had an issue. I’ve learned that being direct, transparent, and communicating any concerns as soon as possible makes a huge difference, and their team has always been responsive when I’ve needed assistance.

I genuinely enjoy the flexibility of temping and being able to choose when and where I work. My only wish is that there were options for benefits and paid time off. As much as I love temping, I may eventually have to consider permanent employment simply for the security of PTO and benefits. If TempStars ever offered something along those lines for regular temp professionals, it would make an already great platform even better.

Overall, I’m very grateful for the opportunities TempStars has given me throughout my career — from dental assisting, through hygiene school, and now as a registered dental hygienist. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a very bad experience with this app.

I had to cancel a shift due to unexpected personal reasons. I already provided an explanation in the app, but they still reached out afterward asking me to explain again and whether it was a mistake, which felt intrusive.

After the cancellation, I was told my account would be suspended for 14 days (which I accepted without complaint), but it was later changed to 2 months without prior notice. Even after the 2 months, reinstatement is not guaranteed, and they mentioned I may need to complete additional steps like training. This makes the process unclear and unpredictable.

The lack of transparency and consistency makes it difficult to trust or rely on this platform.
