Although I am bummed as it used to auto scroll with the text which was really nice and helpful. Hoping there is a fix for that soon. It works exactly as needed for those following Professor Horner’s original plan. I would LOVE, and likely pay for, the ability to customize the plan. I use an alternate plan in which Group 10 is Acts, Romans, and Hebrews. Would be sweet if a user could define (1) how many groups of books, (2) the books to include in each group, and (3) which book and chapter to start with in each group. Understand: this is a request, not a complaint! The app does exactly what it purports to do, and does it seamlessly. Thanks! ### 5/5 — I love this app *2021-05-13, version 1.3.1* In 2015 I began using Dr. G. Horner’s Bible reading plan. I loved it and could really see how the different scriptures commented on each other. It was also at a time when I was struggling to really understand the OT and how it intersected with the NT. Fast forward a couple of years and a difficult pregnancy and pretty severe post-partum depression had left me in a rough spot. I found this app and now I can listen to my ten chapters or read my ten chapters and not worry about losing my book marks or being too distracted! Thank you!!!!! I highly recommend!!!!! I’ve looked everywhere. This app is very simple to use and does exactly what you need for the Grant Horner Bible reading plan: it tracks your daily readings and shows a history of all your readings and shows all future readings. This app also supports “endless” reading. Every app I found in the App Store that utilizes this Bible reading system stops after 250 days or one year; and you cannot continue your reading plan after that. The. Bile translation used in this app is a good translation - English Standard Version. ### 5/5 — Excellent Bible Reading Tool *2019-08-24, version 1.2* One of the most appreciated features of the Ten Chapters App is all of the current day’s chapters being available as one continuous reading and/or audio experience. The option to manually set the day made migrating from a previous App effortless. I began using the bookmarks with the Professor Grant Horner Bible Reading System in 2010. For the past several years, I’ve used an App with an interface which required manually advancing the chapter upon completing each reading. It was a wonderful convenience which provided the option to use the iPhone as my primary Bible. I used the feature-loaded Logos App for the ESV Bible text. In a future version of the Ten Chapters App, an option for an auto page turn would be an excellent enhancement. Currently, the last few verses of Acts are hidden by the recording controls. ### 5/5 — LOVE THIS!!!! *2019-06-08, version 1.2* This is the app that I have been looking for. Other Bible apps have too many advertisements and distractions. The Horner System is such an encouragement and the way I recommend everyone read the Bible if they are able. This app allows me to read from my phone and I can even play the audio and read along! Keeps me focused!! This app however is more enduring, allowing for continued use after day 250 (the point at which every Bible Chapter has been read at least once). I have been looking for this type of tracker for years. I am glad I found it. Just wish there more selection of translations and to highlight scripture. ### 4/5 — Really like the app, but... *2018-08-19, version 1.1* I really like this app, and it has helped me stay more on track at times when I don’t have my Bible with me. However, the trouble I have with it is that when you close the app, it defaults back to the first day. I don’t keep all my apps open continually-especially at times when I need to conserve my battery. As I get farther along with my reading, this will mean that I have to advance many days to find my last reading place. I don’t know anything about apps or building them, but is it possible that there could be an update to allow an option to go to the latest day read (like Kindle) or to jump to a particular day, and to keep track of what days have already been read? (So I’ll know at first glance that I’ve already read day number 687 and should now be on day 688.) The number of days available in the app seems infinite, so the longer I use this plan, the more useless the app will be. ### 5/5 — Still the Best *2026-05-03, version 1.3.1* Though it’s been a while since this app was updated, it’s still the best I’ve found for use with the Grant Horner system. If I could request one thing, it would be a dark circle to indicate completed readings instead of the faint check mark. There are mornings and evenings when these old eyes of mine have a bit of trouble seeing it. However the audio version on that app is computer generated. This audio version is either human or the best computer generated audio I’ve ever heard. The fact that it speaks the scriptures is just icing on the cake. Really helps me control the system better. My only question is what happens after a year? Can I keep going with this app or will I have to switch to another? Also being Catholic I sometimes read the other 7 books, but that is my issue. If I miss a day, the app just waits for me to return. I like that I can have it read aloud to me and that I can adjust the reading speed. I can pause and reread a section. I can adjust the font size. I’ve been having trouble keeping track of the chapters I’m on. I was using a different app that had Professor Horner’s plan but it was dated from when you started and would keep updating every day even if you didn’t check off the reading. I miss a lot of days so I would have to keep scrolling back to the day I’m supposed to be reading. I love how this app is so simple and lets you do the checking and moving forward as needed.
