You have to wait till your current subscription ends which I didn't realize when I bought a quarterly subscription. Other apps allow immediate upgraded subscription and cancel the old subscription with a prorated refund ### 3/5 — VIP SUBSCRIBERS 1080 view *2026-04-14, version 5.33.5* Why don’t this app 1080 view display automatically? Why do I have to choose it from options when I have paid for ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION VIP? Should be 4K being other platforms are. Displays are now 8 K. For the highest price should be able to display without having to manually adjust it. ### 3/5 — Canceling as soon as subscription expires *2026-04-10, version 5.33.5* I’m a VIP member who previously used the WeTV app. Couple months ago it forced me to upgrade to the Tencent app. Now every 30 minutes I have to login again it’s beyond frustrating. So in order to watch a 45 minute episode I have to login twice. If I hadn’t already paid for an annual subscription, I wouldn’t be so mad. ### 3/5 — Fix the landscape viewing *2026-03-30, version 5.33.2* I like to watch cdramas on iqiyi because it’s an amazing app because they have 4k and amazing cdramas. Usually, I always watch on WeTV youtube instead of the app but sometimes the cdramas come out too slow so I tried out the app. However, the app is too glitchy and half of the screen is stuck unless i turn off rotation lock on my ipad off. Then I can peacefully view my cdramas in landscape mode. Please fix this. ### 3/5 — Meh *2026-03-23, version 5.33.1* I enjoy the content. Just be aware that most if not all of the translations are AI generated. Also… even if you are paying the membership… you still have to pay to watch the Short Series. That’s a BIG nope from me… if I’m already paying… why do I need to pay? ### 3/5 — Ai subtitles *2026-02-26, version 5.32.3* They use ai subtitles for English cc, which honestly isn’t a problems if they actually had someone review the subtitles and make changes, it often mixes up words to describe people so I get confused about the relationship with the mc, or key points to the story that make no sense in translation to what’s going on ### 4/5 — Great app wish it was available for television streaming *2026-02-22, version 5.32.3* I really enjoy this app however I wish it was available on Roku devices so I can stream on my television without the headache of casting from my phone. I love the variety offered and the shorts but it comes second to Viki and IQYI because I can watch those on my Roku tv but cannot watch Tencent without taking extra steps. ### 4/5 — Great Service/Limited Content *2026-02-08* The app is decent. Missing some basic features like a favorite list, control of type of content on home page (please stop showing boy love dramas). Subtitles have to be turned off then on when going from one episode to the next. Very limited content with many big anime not available for the US version of the app - subscribe only until you watch the limited content. ### 3/5 — Good App Gone Down Hill Jan 2026 *2026-01-27* This app has gone down hill recently. Once, the only annoying thing was that it made you re-sign in again every six months. Now the whole experience is glitchy. It spins and spins when selecting an episode. Each time I have t back out and then select again. It is also jumping to the next episode without warning requiring me to back out, go back to the episode I was watching which starts at the beginning instead of where I was so I have to fast forward. There is an update. Hopefully this will fix the multiple problems. ### 4/5 — lovex *2025-12-23, version 5.30.5* good ### 3/5 — Annoying constant “Expired login” *2025-12-09* I’m a VIP member for most of the major online video streaming platforms, each one is worth it, I have no complaints, I gave them all five stars. The reason I gave Tencent three stars is because every 30 minutes the “Login expires, I have to find my phone to log back on to continue watching my show. It is VERY annoying! It’s the main reason I don’t watch many dramas on this streaming service. None of the other Streaming platform Apps have this feature, which why I might not renew my subscription next year, unless this feature is fixed. ### 2/5 — Do not waste money *2025-11-23, version 5.30.0* Do not waste money on this app. They charge you for VIP to watch shows, then charge you for specials and some of the shows. Most of shows wanted to watch found out after paid for VIP that I had to rent them. What kind of company accepts payment for a service, then refuses to give the customer access to said service. I tried to get it back recently. I paid for a month and it hasn’t worked. I tried to cancel when I figured out it wasn’t working. The next day. Guess what? I have a subscription until the end of the month I can’t use. My iPad knows I have a subscription to it but the app doesn’t. No matter what I do I can’t access what I paid for. I am signed in. But it doesn’t let me access vip. So never again will I have this app. Im not really into the torture of watching adds infinitum to get the “free” 24 hours. I can’t pay repeatedly for nothing. App doesn’t sync between devices at all. Apple TV doesn’t shows my watch list & reservations, only shows up the history. Anything that you watch in a different device doesn’t show up in other devices. You should fire your IT people. With so much technology, the less you can expect from this app is to sync properly between devices so you can pickup where you left off. Synchronization between devices is vital, which is why Netflix, VIKI, and iQIYI have gain more market than Tencent & YOUKU. An absolute headache and when something gives me a headache, I cancel it! ### 1/5 — bug city *2026-01-10* bro i just wanna watch my fave show heart signal season 8 (i love u minghao), i even bought vip membership so i could watch in hd ... but yall have GOT to fix yalls bugs and ui issues for context, i have both the phone app and the google playstore app on my projector to watch it on like a "tv" (but its a projector), both are the tencent tv app 1. the app CONSTANTLYY logs you out like randomly after an hour so you have to log in every hour or so and sometimes not even it logs you out mid episode 2. the subtitles are written by AI (allegedly, the app said it itself) AND not even synced properly. on my phone the subtitles sync fine but on the tv/projector app its like 5 seconds early - im ABC (american born chinese) so i need subtitles to enjoy chinese media content BUT i understand enough by myself to know some of these AI subtitles translate very robotically, and doesnt really capture what the original speaker meant to say. so i fear if i had ZERO chinese knowledge, these AI generated subtitles might deliver an inaccurate idea 3. the ui on the projector app is the most wack thing ive ever had to use like why cant you have a cute little settings tab very easily accessible on the screen when i hover to go to things like subtitles and stuff but NOER you need to go through like 500 tabs that all say "episode 2" and then click right to find simple stuff like adjusting the subtitle size or changing the resolution in conclusion can the intern get on this rq for me pls i j wanna enjoy heart signal 8 in peace 💔💔 i hope they pay you well bro thank u ### 1/5 — Content log outs/ told to purchase vip even when I’m already VIP *2025-12-21, version 5.30.5* On episode 6 of the quick little 20min shows and I’ve had to log in 4 different times. Not to mention I’m constantly being bonbarded with pop ups saying i need to purchase VIP even though I literally just purchased it today. So it’s def not expired. The whole app is SCAMMY ### 1/5 — The app doesn’t work *2025-11-11, version 5.29.5* I bought in a span of couple of days two memberships for $16 so I can watch a video I got involved with , they stopped showing after two previews and you’re supposed to buy VIP which I did but did not work. I bought again did not work so I want to get a refund good luck to that . There’s no support no support phone numbers no support email Apple won’t refund and if you want to call them you have to call long distance because they’re in China. Recently though, I have begun accessing it on a Google TV streaming device in our kitchen, and the experience has become quite frustrating. I would get logged out every half an hour or so. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but it didn’t solve the issue. I finally decided to delete the app from my Google TV, and will only use it on my various Apple devices. I’m asian but not chinese so subtitles in English is very important to me. Can you please not cover the subtitles when pausing by showing the number of episodes? Some of us are slow reader and sometimes the subtitles run so fast that l cannot catch up with the dialogue. I am 68 years old so sometimes I cannot catch up. If l pause, the subtitles are overlap by the number of episodes. Because of this issue, If the drama is showing in VIKI l usually watch it from Viki because l can pause and read the dialogue and then continue watch the drama. Either refund me the money or make it available. Update: Just checked the app and it works again. Tai kai xin!!! Have used the WeTV app for about a year, started crashing on me two days ago. Gave it time but no change. Downloaded the new app(this tencent one) and still crashes. Can’t watch any videos.
