## What is Tend?

Tend is the app for the whole of your home. Not just the boiler and the gutters — the school run, the grocery list, whose turn it is to feed the dog, and what everyone is actually doing on Thursday.

TODAY
Open the app and see the day. Everyone's events with the time and who they are for, the plans you are working through, and the household's lists. Tap a person's face to see only their day. Tap a child's and you get their screen instead: their jobs, and what they have saved up.

ASK TEND
Describe something at home in plain words — a stain, a noise, a job you have been putting off — and get a straight answer and a plan you can actually follow. Tend knows your house: how old it is, what is in it, and what the weather is about to do to it.

LISTS
Groceries, packing, errands, the running list of things nobody remembers. Shared with the house by default, so anyone can add to them and anyone can tick them off. Or make one just yours — a private list nobody else in the household can see, not even to know it is there.

PLANS
A plan is a list of steps with an end. Tend writes them, you work through them, and the app keeps what you saved doing it yourself.

KIDS
Jobs, and something to earn for doing them. Your household picks what that something is called — gems, stars, points, dollars, stickers, or a word of your own — and every screen follows. A child can ask to spend what they have saved; a grown-up says yes or no from their phone. A child can never spend it themselves.

A SCREEN IN YOUR KITCHEN
Any spare tablet, laptop or old monitor can show your household's week as a board of notes: everyone's days, the jobs still owed, and anything anyone has pinned up. It takes about a minute to set up and it needs no account of its own.

When nobody is using it, it shows your photos, the weather, what is still to come today, and a fact about something one of your kids is into. You tell Tend what they love, Tend writes the facts, and you read each one before it goes up on the wall.

THE HOUSE ITSELF
Appliances with their ages and manuals, reminders that arrive before something becomes a problem, recall alerts, and a score that tells you honestly how the house is doing.

SHARE IT
Invite a partner and everything is the same on both phones. Add your kids as people, with their own colours, without giving them accounts.

Tend is free to use. Tend Pro adds deeper AI answers, Google Calendar sync, and giving a job to someone by name.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-03

Tend has the rest of your home in it now.

Today opens with your family's actual day — everyone's events, with the time and who they are for. Tap a person to see only theirs.

Kids get jobs and something to earn for doing them, and you decide what that something is called: gems, stars, points, dollars, or your own word. They can ask to spend it; you say yes or no from your phone.

Lists are shared with the house now, so anyone can add and anyone can tick off — or make one just yours that nobody else can see.

And you can put Tend on a screen in your kitchen. Any spare tablet or old monitor shows the week as a board of notes, the jobs still owed, and whatever anyone has pinned up. It pairs in about a minute, and when nobody is using it you get your photos and a fact about whatever your kids are into.

Everything you already had is where you left it.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-29

Talking to Tend feels different now — in a good way.

• Chat, redesigned. Answers are short and conversational, and when there's real work to do, the plan arrives as a folder — steps, costs, and materials tucked inside, ready to check off.
• Tend stopped writing walls of text. It asks at most one question, and only when the answer actually changes the plan.
• Tend Pro now says what it actually does. Every insight opens into the whole picture — the reasoning, the DIY verdict, the cost range, and the pros who do that work. That was never a paid feature, and it no longer claims to be.
• Sharing your home with someone is free. It should not have been behind Pro.
• Notifications now ask permission properly, so the choices in Settings actually take effect.
• Launch screen sizing fixed on some devices.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-24

Tend opens somewhere new.

The app now lands on the Tend screen: your home's Pulse and a place to ask anything, side by side. Ask a question, see what's worth knowing, or just take in how things are doing at a glance.

Your Home Pulse, now in three parts. The single score becomes one ring split into what matters: Care, Spaces, and Projects. You can see where your home is thriving and where it needs a little attention, with the next best thing to do always in reach.

Projects, start to finish. Describe what you want to tackle and Tend builds a step-by-step plan, with tools, materials, and a rough cost, then walks you through it. Finish one and watch your Pulse rise and your Money Saved grow.

A warm refresh throughout, in light and dark, with the middle tab now simply "Tend."

Calm by design, as always. Tend shows you what's worth knowing, never more than you need.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-21

- Sign in with Google now works reliably.
- Care Plan is here: open the Care tab and tap "Grow my plan" for a year of home care, spaced so no week feels like a second job.
- Performance fix: resolved a background refresh issue that was using extra battery and data.
- Polish across Worth Knowing, Milestones, the quick-add menu, and the splash screen.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-20

Tend has a new look and a new heartbeat.

Meet Home Pulse — one living score for how your home is doing. Complete a task and watch it rise. Tend always shows you the next best actions to raise it, so you're never guessing what your home needs.

A warm redesign, in light and dark. The new Rooted look — Paper by day, Evening by night — with five clearer tabs: Home, Care, Ask, Spaces, and Pros.

Tend now speaks first. Optional notifications warn you before a freeze, heat wave, or storm reaches your home, and nudge you when care is due. Never more than a couple a week, always with the reason, always your choice.

Point your camera at any appliance. Tend reads the label, identifies the unit, and files it in Spaces with what it needs to keep running.

Sign in with Apple or Google — new accounts in two taps. And a Sunday digest that arrives only when there's something worth knowing.

For everyone who subscribed to Tend Pro in v1: you get everything new, included, forever. Thanks for being early.
