There is no advice on how to return to a 2D view once the application has changed to a 3D or angled view. Also the location doesn’t always work and the app needs to be reset to overcome this. The fewer items you have turned on the better it works. For instance the location will cut out if you have 4 items turned on. 
Hiking trails and summits with bus lines and bus stops.  So turning off two of the 4 helps.
