## What is tengi?

tengi is the AI video editor and social media manager that turns real footage into finished videos. Built for founders and small business.

Tell tengi about your brand and it writes the shoot: the idea, the video script and the shot list. Read it off the teleprompter with your phone wherever you are. tengi cuts it, adds captions on the beat, and hands back a finished vertical video, ready for reels and shorts. Then post everywhere at once.

What you get:

- A video script and a shot list, written for your brand
- A teleprompter that scrolls over the camera while you talk
- Auto captions, burned in on the beat, in your brand's font
- Edit by deleting words: tap to delete a word from the transcript and the video cuts to match
- Your brand on every frame: logo, colors and fonts
- Ideas for what to post next, and a calendar to put them on
- Schedule to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook. You pick the time. tengi posts it.
- Connect Claude or ChatGPT and plan a whole series by asking

Stop shouting into the void.

tengi is a monthly subscription or a one-off credit pack if you would rather pay as you go. The price and the terms are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings. Credit packs do not renew and the credits do not expire.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.0 — 2026-10-12

Share a brand with someone and choose what they can do on it. Settings now shows who is on each brand.
Podcast clips keep the speaker in frame, and Auto cuts to whoever is talking.
Editing is smoother: grab a clip to move it, hold a handle to trim, and the timeline closes the gap after a cut.
Bug fixes and polish.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-10-05

Content Ideas in tengi:
- Save a reel from Instagram or TikTok straight into Ideas
- Share photos and videos from Photos straight into a shoot
- Works from Shortcuts, Spotlight and the Action button
- Long-press the tengi icon for New shoot, Auto-cut, Save an idea and Calendar

Import from anywhere:
- Files and Google Drive available on every import

Brand Kit:
- Cleaner canvas controls. Colors live inside Text and Captions.
- Separate logo and font uploads

Editor:
- Zoom previews match the final video
- Bug fixes

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-02

Zoom:
- Talking head and b-roll zoom separately. A zoom window punches in the main footage only.
- B-roll zooms as a whole clip, with its own slider.
- Slider goes all the way to fill. Horizontal clips can fill a vertical frame.
- + Zoom greys out and says why when it can't zoom.

Create:
- New shoots say Record and open the shoot plan first.
- Back from the editor or the recorder steps through the shoot plan.
- Empty shoots are actually empty. Edit the title right on the Review.
- Library imports show up as they upload. Auto-cut appears the moment it's ready.

Recording:
- Teleprompter holds one pace to the last line. Change it mid-take, no jump. Pace is set per shoot.
- Recorder and take review show your true colours, look and retouch.
- Second take records sound. A silent take says "No audio detected" with Try again.

Editor:
- Your last edit is saved when you leave. Coming back never overwrites it.
- Caption formatting no longer brings back frames you trimmed.
- B-roll can run past the end of the video.
- Preview plays to the very end, through photos and b-roll.
- B-roll preview: no black tick or sideways frame at seams, no black flash handing back to you.
- Text slots keep your words when you switch layouts.

Photos:
- Every photo door works. HEIC and GIF included. Transparency kept.
- Recaps keep the photos you picked.

Finished videos:
- No black frame at cuts, word deletes or the last frame.
- Never an empty text card.

Smoother.
