### 2/5 — Hard to find comics or other specific areas

*2026-08-19, version 8.11.0*

So how to identify and jump to the view that is not digital? How do I find comics? Where is a search feature? How do i see obituaries? By dates, when I don’t know who died?

### 4/5 — Missing daily letters to editor

*2026-07-22, version 8.10.2*

When you publish letters on a daily basis, it feels in the gaps that the reporters have missed

### 2/5 — App load times

*2026-04-08, version 8.9.0*

While the app home page loads quickly, the eNewspaper tab loads very slowly. Sometimes it will fail to load at all.

### 4/5 — Easy

*2026-01-14, version 8.6.0*

Glad we have a digital version of the Tennessean

### 4/5 — The Tennessean

*2025-12-22, version 8.6.0*

The news coverage is good. However, the comics are horrible!!!! Why did you change the comics? The comics are not worth reading. Political pressure????

### 3/5 — Wanted to send this feedback privately…

*2025-11-17, version 8.6.0*

…but the Send Feedback function was inoperable. I’m a subscriber and pop up ads are constantly interrupting my reading. Most if not all are USA Today, which are entirely ineffective. So please stop, or I will no longer be a subscriber.

### 4/5 — Improved

*2025-10-17, version 8.5.4*

Latest update solved previous issue with print option suddenly switching to online version.

### 2/5 — Way too many ads for a paid subscription

*2025-10-03, version 8.5.4*

Honestly, this could be a good app if they would shrink the ad space. Literally 2/3 of your screen is always a flashing a moving add. It’s obnoxious when you are actually trying to read articles. It cheapens the experience and I think is disrespectful to the authors that work hard to product the content people actually pay to read. I didn’t pay to watch ads, I paid to read your articles.

### 4/5 — Tennessean

*2025-09-07, version 8.1.0*

Just stopped working. What is the issue.

### 4/5 — Epaper

*2025-09-04, version 8.1.0*

I like the option to read the paper online but my biggest complaint is getting access of online. When I have air travel and download the epaper , it’s never available offline to see. Why???

### 3/5 — Notifications Issues: Please Fix

*2025-08-13, version 8.1.0*

I stopped what I thought all notifications but I am getting more than “breaking news”. I like the feature but multiple notifications that go beyond that is very disruptive.

I agree with the following reviewers comments:
Abusive with Notifications
Nov 25
青六六次六
Despite repeated requests and inquiries, The Tennessean feels it is necessary to alert people throughout the day with sports related push notifications as
"breaking news" despite them being anything but. Recent push notifications include a lifestyle story about a coach, Vanderbilt football updates, Little League updates - all of which are not breaking news nor top stories. Editors and app programmers should follow the requests of the notifications features built into the app to not abuse customers with unnecessary and unwanted notifications. Not everything is a top story or breaking news.

### 2/5 — Mr Jim

*2025-08-10, version 8.1.0*

Keeps us up to date

### 5/5 — Paper

*2025-07-24, version 8.1.0*

Great paper to read online good content really enjoy

### 5/5 — Awesome Sports Section for High School Sports

*2025-07-19, version 8.1.0*

The best place to keep up with High School sports in the middle Tennessee area.

### 5/5 — Gotta have it

*2025-07-18, version 8.1.0*

With my morning coffee I get caught up on what’s happening in Nashville and of course, get my comics and horoscope. It’s a shame they changed all the comics, particularly leaving Doonesbury off, but the rest are OK.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too many ads ANNOYING paid subscribers

*2026-04-01, version 8.9.0*

I am a current subscriber and a long-term reader of the Tennessean newspaper. When the paper version became unpredictable in its physical delivery, I switched to the Tennessean e-newspaper on the iPad. Now, even though I read the iPad e-newspaper version daily, I am constantly bombarded with distracting electronic META-style advertisements that encourages me to become a subscriber. In addition, I receive other distracting electronic META-Style advertisements while I’m attempting to read the e-newspaper.
NOTE TO THE TENNESSEAN NEWSPAPER. I AM ALREADY A SUBSCRIBER! I already review the advertisements in the e-paper version of your ‘eNewspaper.’ As a PAID SUBSCRIBER I do not need—and should not be subjected to—further distracting electronic advertisements.

### 1/5 — Terms and Conditions?!

*2026-02-20, version 8.8.0*

Absolutely not. To sign up for a “Tennessean/USA Today” account is nationalist technofascism at its finest. First you have to agree to being a legal US resident (to read the paper?), then agree to be tracked, share your information with 3rd parties on the videos you watch, and sign away your first born. No thanks.

### 1/5 — Aggravated

*2025-12-06, version 8.6.0*

Logging onto the Tennessean app takes me directly to US Today which I rarely read. Following my efforts to access today’s edition of the Tennessean, I received yesterdays edition which of course I read yesterday. Too much time spent trying to locate Saturday’s November 6 edition, I closed the app and read the WSP November 6 edition

### 1/5 — Worst app in world

*2025-08-11, version 8.1.0*

Subscribed for 67 years. Won’t let me sign in.

### 1/5 — Privacy settings give no options to opt out

*2025-07-10, version 8.1.0*

Tennessean site scores a 0 out of 10 for privacy options. There is no opt out option for ads and tracking.

### 1/5 — Can’t Access the E-Newspaper

*2025-06-06, version 7.11.2*

EVERY day I have to delete and reload the app on my iPad to access the e-newspaper. If I don’t reload the app, I get just a white page.

### 1/5 — Tennessean eNewspaper

*2025-05-30, version 8.1.0*

This app does not work well. It constantly requires the user to login multiple times and attempts to get the User to “subscribe” when the user is already a subscriber. This update from the previous version is not useful. Moreover, the advertisements are too much.

### 1/5 — Hate this!!

*2025-05-24, version 7.11.2*

I wish to have the old way of getting to the enews of the The Tennessee. Too many steps to get the whole paper instead of certain subjects!!!

Hate It!!!
Sharon Steele

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-05-08, version 7.11.2*

I want the old e edition back!

### 1/5 — The Nashvillean

*2025-04-05, version 8.1.0*

This a newspaper for Nashville, not Tennessee. I’m recent transplant from the Oregon who moved to Memphis. I was hoping to find a good state wide newspaper similar to the Oregonian. This is not on the same level of journalism.

Further, East and West Tennessee are a total after thought. Under interests, you can’t even follow the Memphis Grizzlies—the state’s only NBA team. That’s ridiculous.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Hate app

*2026-05-05, version 8.9.0*

I read the paper to track the baseball standings and I can’t read them with this new app. After 40 years as a subscriber you have modernized right past me. I will stop my subscription ASAP.

### 5/5 — News is good - but need for customer service

*2026-04-20, version 8.9.0*

I need to temporarily stop delivery of the paper. This app does not provide info on how to do that. I even searched in Google (shouldn’t have had to do that) - it’s very difficult to find correct # to call. Google listed # from 2015 that is no longer in service. Please add info on App for people who rely on both the App and daily delivery. Delivery customers have been abandoned.

### 5/5 — Newspaper

*2026-02-08, version 8.6.0*

Newspaper concise, yet in-depth.

### 5/5 — Still a decent newspaper

*2026-01-15, version 8.6.0*

It’s much better than the Tennessean’s website, which is mostly country music blurbs and entertainment news.

### 5/5 — TN

*2025-10-11, version 8.5.4*

Excellent

### 5/5 — Available anywhere every day

*2025-10-07, version 8.5.4*

Much better than physical version. Always available, never wet or misplaced, reduced trash.

### 5/5 — Informative

*2025-08-30, version 8.1.0*

Wide variety of news local, regional, national and global.

### 5/5 — Good information about Nashville

*2025-08-28, version 8.1.0*

I like easy to navigate eNewspaper and the Nashville area news.

### 5/5 — Good Newspaper APP

*2025-07-30, version 8.1.0*

Excellent newspaper, high quality writing and editorials worth reading. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Newspaper

*2025-07-27, version 8.1.0*

Newspaper concise, yet in-depth.
