It’s been pretty frustrating this weekend. Also, if you’re watching replay of matches and it stalls on you and you go out of the app, it starts the match all over again. ### 4/5 — Good Quality *2026-08-20, version 10.10.2* I saw there was a deal for $77 a year and i had to check it out. The quality on the lives are actually very solid. I also like how you have the 15 minute match replay’s on there for if you miss a match or two. Have tried it all - uninstall/reinstall, reboot Apple TV, etc. Still with choppy stream and audio/video lag. Fix this - it is not watchable. ### 3/5 — Awful Commentary *2026-08-15, version 10.10.1* The video feeds seem to be the same video feeds as Tennis TV (which is ATP only and no challenger coverage, and more expensive), but there is no way to watch without the horrendous Tennis Channel commentators. They are insufferable. Give me a way to watch matches without them (I like the ambient sound, so mute isn’t a great option). Tennis channel app also has great use of split screen, showing up to four matches at once and allowing you to select which one gives audio as well. The app appears to be slightly less quality in bit depth than Tennis TV (resolution is the same), and this is using a 2G fiber connection. But I am guessing at that because it’s not obvious. The quality of the video feed, at least with a very fast connection, is quite good. Layout of the app is excellent. It gives a breakdown by court, which is much harder to find on Tennis TV. I much prefer the layout and organization of Tennis Channel for watching a current tournament (Tennis TV has every ATP match for past decades and it’s easy to intuitively find those). But since I cannot stand the Tennis Channel’s commentators, I watch via Tennis TV (ATP’s direct service). Unfortunately, the commentators make me hate this app. I wish I could fire all of them (Jim Courier is fine), but that’s a joke, but I really do I could just switch off the commentary. If so, I would be a permanent subscriber. ### 2/5 — 50/50 chance stream works *2026-08-13, version 10.10.1* When stream works, app good. When stream broken, app ripoff. ### 4/5 — Streaming quality improved *2026-08-07, version 10.10.1* After two years away from this app because of constant streaming interruptions, I see a deal for $77 per year and decided to sign up. After a brief learning curve, I securely activated my account on three streaming devices from my phone. So far, the streaming of matches is high quality and, as previously enjoyed, the lack of commentators for early rounds is still appreciated. Also, the previous streaming interruptions which plagued the app seem to have been resolved. While the slams are not covered on the app, which is understandable when giant like ESPN and HBO own those rights, I appreciate that lower level tournaments, i.e., 125s, and Challengers, are fully covered. Also, having three different lengths of replays for singles (full match and two different highlights) is wonderful for catching up. If this keeps up, I will probably renew next year and may even give a higher rating. ### 1/5 — Is a Fraud *2026-06-18, version 10.9.0* Do not pay for this app. It has interface problems, sometimes the tennis channel 2 is not available and you will never watch live grand slams matches as Tennis channel does not have the rights of these events. Looks like tennis doesn't want to invest in this app. Bye ### 3/5 — Lots of Tennis, Terrible Streaming Experience *2026-06-14, version 10.9.0* With every Master/WTA 1000 plus every other tournament there is; player’s interviews and good analysis/commentary from legends of the sport, the coverage deserves five stars. However, the streaming experience and overall reliability of the app is just atrocious. It’s unfortunate because Tennis Channel holds the rights to every event here in the US. Tennis is not a difficult sport to broadcast from a technical standpoint so it’s all about Tennis Channel failing to provide a good consistent experience - the broadcast quality is simply unacceptable. From poor streaming quality, out of sync audio and and constant crashing, the app just doesn’t work. I ultimately decided to add it as a PRIME VIDEO channel - the video quality still bad but at least the Prime Video app is reliable. I really hope Tennis Channel can streamline the experience so we can all sit back and enjoy all the amazing tennis. As for those asking for Gram Slam Tennis coverage, they have no idea how expensive those packages are. And they’re basically standalone events every few months a year so subscribing to ESPN Unlimited and HBO MAX for those events is not that expensive when compared to traditional Cable TV, which besides DirecTV didn’t really offer all courts coverage. ### 4/5 — App is amazing but add grand slam *2026-06-10, version 10.9.0* This app is amazing I love how the highlights are. Unfortunately, they charge an astronomical amount and have nothing to show for it. The content is there but the quality is not consistent. The image is jittery, stuttery, particularly on the “Match in 15” files. Their replays of the finals at both Indian Wells and Miami were a joke in that they forced the broadcast overlay over the matches so you were forced to sit through interviews instead of the actual games. The ATP audio mixing is ATROCIOUS. The commentators are always way too quiet with the action way too loud. The current mixing for the ATP Houston (3/2026) is ABYSMAL….like they’re speaking in the smallest emptiest bathroom that echoes..(and no it is not my audio equipment or my tv). Tennis Channel is just that greedy and sadly we all keep paying for it because they’re the only ones that give unfettered access…it’s just a shame they cannot get smart, creative, talented people on their audio/visual teams OR for the actual layout of the app particularly on AppleTV. It’s pedestrian and quite pathetic for the subscription fee they charge. Hopefully they’ll make improvements. Especially on the UX, the organization, and their audio/visual issues..because as it stands their app/subscription is not worth the price. Find another way to watch these matches. 5/2026-Italian Open Coco Gauff v Sierra. Consistent dropping of the feed. Glitches. Drop of audio. THIS COMPANY IS COMMITING FRAUD by promising a product and NOT delivering on it. They need to be sued for the literal absolutely dumbassery that takes place at this company. None of these dimwits understand how to run a media app. The REASON for their dropped feeds? Because they want to FORCE YOU, a PAID SUBSCRIBER to watch their FREE LIVE FEED(Which is taking up all the resources) so the Paid LIVE FEED drops consistently. They make it virtually impossible for you to watch a live event as a paid subscriber, unless you want to be forced to sit through their forced commercials on their FREE FEED. It is a HUGE RACQUET to get viewership on their FREE feed up. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO TENNIS CHANNEL. TRULY JUST DONT. They are scam artists and you will be utterly angry you wasted a single cent on this terrible terrible inept company and app. (Not to mention they literally have 4 different commentators for this ONE match. 2 on the FREE FEED and 2 on the PAID FEED(where you can’t hear or really watch the match anyway). Not perfect, but 10 x’s better than your ridiculous UI design, although I will admit the latest TC update has improved somewhat from earlier iterations. First Review: Don’t give this app/company your business. Nothing has changed/improved in years. Try watching w/ TV Provider first before paying for a subscription, or only for a month. Personally, I have/would never pay for TC based on the constant issues and poor, blurry, low-resolution picture quality. It looks like a standard definition DVD or 480/720i broadcast PQ and looks terrible on a large HD/4K UHD OLED flat screens. Update: Latest update is a mess. Broke TV Provider connection and after logging back in it constantly ask me to log in when trying to select/watch live stream. Like literally could not identify who was playing if not for the score bug and audio (knowing what each player’s grunt sounds like). It was that bad. On what planet is it acceptable to have such poor video quality on a PAID app? The multi view feature is clutch. I really like the “match in 15” feature as well but the execution, as I said is garbage, rendering it almost useless, because the video quality is so poor. Do better Tennis Channel! And now the app won’t load at all due to some technical error 🙄. Can I get a refund? Geez. You guys need to fix this! Also, pay more women commentators who know the game so we don’t have to listen to some English guy who knows nothing about the skills, only says what everyone could say, what a shot! Or ohhhh what a bad miss. It is ridiculous. A few of the good women commentators thankfully do the bigger matches, but my gosh, I could commentate better than most of these guys. You should be checking which live games are functioning properly and identifying the one with issues so it can be fixed faster. Probably the worst app available amongst all the other services. It frequently crashes. -And even more often freezes. It lags. It makes signing in exceedingly difficult time and time and time again. Within a few seconds, without fail, the picture will start to jump around, jiggle, lose resolution, and Audi will be anywhere from 5-20+ seconds out of sync every time, even after correcting it by jumping forward or backwards 10 seconds. This what $77/yr gets you. Takes all of the enjoyment out of watching tennis. What a waste. And on top of that, I can’t login on another device to test or the website (invalid credentials, even after updating password). Absolutely ridiculous. I love tennis. It’s the only sport I watch, but the TC is terrible, including the interface, trying to watch/find matches, constant talking, and annoying advertisements and intermissions. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2026-08-04, version 10.10.1* This is my second bad review of the tennis channel app for Apple TV. I work from home using a VPN and VOIP because my job requires me to talk to customers for my entire shift. Even with a reliable 500 mbps internet connection, this app is still incredibly glitchy. I can’t even watch a full point without the audio and video stalling! What is the issue? I have read the troubleshooting guides, changed the video settings, deleted and reinstalled the app and nothing helps. It has been this way for years. I really like the clean interface and usability of the app ### 5/5 — A Refreshed Modern Apple TV App *2026-03-08* The Iphone app is great, but where this app and the subscription really shine is the Apple TV app and the intuitive layout to easily find and watch all of the tournaments. The broadcast resolution on the main courts is great and the only ones that could use improvement are the outer courts at night (the ones without commentary and aren’t for broadcast, so it’s hard to complain here — it’s great that there is a feed for all matches)! Also, you get to watch the entire matches without the Tennis Channel’s usual (and very annoying) interviews taking up half of the screen. For the main matches, there is commentary, and it would be amazing if you could turn off the commentary (but leave on the ambient sound). That isn’t offered on any streaming service, so it probably won’t ever be an option. I just don’t like most of the commentary in tennis. The split screen option works flawlessly, and unlike ESPN where it takes a long time to load each different view, this app is instantaneous. The control for which window had the audio feed is also very intuitive and easy. Way to go Tennis Channel! I wish Tennis Channel carried the grand slams as well…watching via The Tennis Channel app is far superior to watching the AO/USO/Wimbledon on ESPN and even better than RG on HBO Max. First off all the app is quick and no lag, simple to use. 2nd the video resolution is better than streaming services. 3rd being able to watch previous matches. 4th no commercials! I get to watch the dancing fans during rest breaks! I had issues at first but after a few days I could use my subscription on my phone and smart tv.
