## What is TennisCut?

Two hours on court becomes two minutes of rallies. TennisCut watches your match with AI that runs on your phone, cuts out the dead time between points, and hands you clean highlights before you leave the club.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Set your phone on a tripod at the side of the court.
2. Play. The AI marks every moment the ball is actually in play.
3. When you finish, watch a video of rallies only, then pull out the point you want and share it.

KEY FEATURES

• Automatic rally detection
The AI marks every point while you play. A full session becomes a short video of rallies only.

• Remote control
One phone sits on the tripod as the camera, the phone in your hand becomes the remote. Scan the code, then watch the live preview from inside the court, start and stop recording, and change zoom and quality. The camera phone's battery and free space show up on your screen too. Either phone can be the camera or the remote.

• 4K and 60 fps recording
Shoot at 1080p or 4K, 30 or 60 fps. HDR survives from capture through export, so your video looks right everywhere.

• Ball Trajectory
Watch the path of every shot drawn over the video, in three trail styles.

• Coach Eye, free for everyone
Step through a point frame by frame and check your contact point, footwork and racquet path.

• Video Insights
Every rally listed with its length. Jump between points, sort by longest, and export the one rally you want on its own.

• Live scoring and session recap
Keep score as you play, tiebreaks included. Finish with a recap card showing duration, rallies and serves, plus heart rate, calories and distance from your Apple Watch. Share it as an image.

• Everything stays on your device
All processing happens on your phone. Your videos never leave it. No internet needed for the analysis, nothing to upload, nothing to wait for.

• Shared in seconds
Send a single point or the whole reel to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or your coach. Export in 16:9 or 9:16.

WHO IT IS FOR

• Players who record their practice or matches
• Coaches who need review material fast
• Creators posting tennis clips
• Anyone who wants to actually watch their own game

### 3/5 — Accuracy is not reliable

*2026-08-25*

It’s a nice app with good UX, but the rally detection can be totally off sometimes. I haven’t tested it out on the court yet, but I had some small existing footage which TennisCut seemed to detect well. But then I also tried a video I downloaded from YouTube (called “Pure Alcaraz from the front row 2026)” which was a practice session between Alcaraz and Fritz in the AO, and I clipped 5min of their practice set and TennisCut only found one rally in it which is totally wrong. I tried cropping out the crowd too, and still it came back with really bad detections. Why does that video give TennisCut so much trouble? It’s really clean hitting and the camera is well positioned…

It’s not clear what makes its detections be completely off like that - it’d be good to know so we can set up our footage better.

**Developer response:** Hi Benjamin, thank you for the detailed feedback, it truly helps. TennisCut is tuned for footage you record directly with your phone: a stable camera behind the baseline, slightly elevated, seeing the full court. Videos downloaded from YouTube are often problematic for several reasons: heavy compression that blurs the fast moving ball, camera movement and panning, low courtside angles like that front row view, and format or codec changes introduced by downloading and clipping. That practice video combines several of these, so detection struggles even though it looks clean to the human eye. If you record on court with the setup above, you should see much better results. For more details on ideal footage, write to us at info@tenniscut.com and we will gladly help. If it works well for you, we would really appreciate an updated rating.

### 3/5 — Good idea raw execution

*2026-06-29*

Decided to record a match with TennisCut. Really liked the idea - SW definitely needs a good competition.

Unfortunately all the points in the final video start way too early - a person bounces the ball a few times, maybe do a re-toss. Then all the points without exception cut short, maybe about a second or two. So frustrating.

Even worse, I was not able to get the full footage to see the match myself - this is just inexcusable and should not happen - my camera app would’ve done a better job.

Updated the rating from 1 to 3 stars for developers response. If they keep going on this would be a great app

**Developer response:** Hi Alex, thanks for the detailed feedback, and for liking the concept. Honest reviews like this are exactly what help us improve.

First, the part that frustrated you most: unless you chose to delete the original, TennisCut keeps the complete, uncut recording on your device, and you can open, watch, or export it right from the app. And if you did delete it through the app, no need to worry: the recording stays in the Recently Deleted album in Photos for 30 days, so you can recover it from there.

You're also right that the points start too early (the ball bounces before the serve) and end a beat short. The automatic cut isn't perfect yet, and we're actively improving it: trimming the extra footage before the serve and leaving a little more room at the end of each point. In the meantime, you can adjust the start and end of every point yourself with the rally editing and trim tools inside the app, so the cut you want is already within reach.

Thanks again for taking the time. We hope this clears a few things up, and if your experience has changed, we'd really appreciate it if you'd reflect that in your review and rating.

### 4/5 — Well made

*2026-03-02*

Well made app but should at least allow one import and analysis so I know it actually works.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We offer a 1-week free trial so you can test the import and record features.
We hope you'll give it a try!
