With forced updates everything is now behind a paywall and the app is basically unusable without buying a subscription. On top of that, nowhere in the app is there any information about their data collection practices, how to submit a data request, etc.; I can’t even find a link to their privacy policy. I’m surprised the App Store allows that. Very disappointing. **Developer response:** Hello Product_19, Thanks for your feedback. Since 2016, TennisPAL was a free app bearing all development and marketing costs. Unfortunately, due to rising costs and lack of support from the community, TennisPAL was planned to shut down in 2023. As a final attempt to keep the community alive, we rebuilt the app with subscriptions as a way to sustain the costs of running the community. It works fine enough, but the moments page is pointless and shouldn’t be the starting page, imo. “Create post” should be more of a broadcast message to those nearby wanting it. **Developer response:** Hello Maximus, Thank you for your feedback! Don’t waste your time downloading this. You are better off looking for tennis buddies on Facebook groups or other groups. Old contacts are gone now too with this update. Delete now!!! While I do understand why it’s a paid subscription, I don’t mind that part of the app because I love to play tennis and I would like to meet people in that process. The app is just not functional for my account. I keep on getting an authentication error thus I can’t use it to chat with people for setting up times. I can’t even look at my own profile and make changes. I tried to delete and redo my profile and it has not deleted the account so I’m stuck in a loop. Like I said I understand why the app needed to change but at the end of the day the app has to be functional for users to use the app effectively. It is a good app before but now it’s not as much which sucks because how could a free app be better than something that you pay for. But you didn’t fix it at all because I just downloaded the newest version and can’t sign up unless I give you the rights to every amount of data I have to give. Gross.
