## What is Tentacles?

Tentacles turns voice notes into private, on-device AI-written summaries and tasks you can act on, without sending your data to the cloud.

* Voice notes. Record notes and ideas, then get transcripts using on-device speech recognition.
* On-device AI. After a one-time model download, summaries and task extraction from voice notes run on your phone (offline).
* Notes and tasks. Browse recordings, read summaries and key points, and track action items in one place.
* Privacy by design. Your data stays on your device, not in the cloud.
* Apple CarPlay. Record from the car; processing stays on your phone.
* Import/Export your notes with support for Obsidian.
* AI Agents. Hand off tasks to local agents to do the work for you.
* Extras. Offline AI chat for follow-ups and a simple focus timer for deep work.

Who it’s for:

If you want modern “assistant” help but prefer your ideas, voice, and notes to stay out of the cloud, Tentacles is built for that workflow: speak once, keep everything on-device, and pick up summaries and tasks when you’re ready.
