## What is Tequila District?

Tequila District is a small social app for people who love tequila.

■ No scores. Just stories.
"How many points is this tequila?" — that is not what this app is for.
The meaning of your pour was never written in an average of numbers left by strangers.
So we removed the scores. What we keep instead is the story:
where you were, who you were with, which bottle it was, and how it felt.

■ Log the pour
Take a photo, pick the bottle and the bar. That's it — a few seconds.
Your pours, the bars you visited and the expressions you met pile up on their own.
One day you look back and find a history of tequila that belongs only to you.

■ Send a Salud!
Press and hold a pour you like and send a "Salud!"
Glasses meeting through the screen, however far apart you are.
The toasts that land on your posts can be replayed, again and again.

■ Keep the night together
Drinking with friends? Open a session and invite them with a code.
Everyone's posts from that night gather into a single card
you can open long after everyone has gone home.

■ Find bars that actually pour tequila
Browse our partner bars, sorted by how close they are.
Walk near one and the app quietly asks if you are starting here.
(Location is entirely optional.)
Search "bar" and bars come up. Search a bottle and the places that carry it come up.
Bars, bottles, people and posts — one search, built only for tequila.

■ Collect the badges
Your first post. Ten bars. Fifty pours. The road you walked stays with you.
Some are rare. Some are hidden and nobody has found them yet.

■ This app is for you if
· You want to talk about a bottle you love with someone who gets it
· You want your regular bar to start pouring good tequila
· You want to find tequila while travelling
· You want a real record of what you have been drinking

■ Drink responsibly
· You must be of legal drinking age in your country.
· Drinking while pregnant or nursing, and driving under the influence, are prohibited by law.
· All posts are made by users. Report or block anything inappropriate from each post's menu.
· You can delete your account from within the app at any time.

Good time, good company, good agave.
Salud!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.6 — 2026-09-19

Add the places you drink tequila.

• Anyone can now add a bar or restaurant. Place a pin on the map and it shows up right away, marked as provisional
• While you type, nearby places appear so the same spot isn't added twice
• Each place shows who added it
• If a place has closed or moved, tell us from its page

Also in this update

• When a brand moves to another distillery, its page shows where it is made now and where it was made before

### 1.9.5 — 2026-09-15

Meet the people behind your tequila.

Every tequila now leads to its brand and its distillery.

• Brand pages: the brand's bottles and how often they are poured in Japan
• Distillery pages: the building, how the tequila is made, and photos from our visits
• The top of a tequila's page shows the brand and the NOM, one tap away from each
• A word from the makers: distillery and brand staff can leave a message for people drinking in Japan
• Makers carry a badge, so a Salud! from a distillery stands out

Also in this update

• New accounts choose a nickname when they sign up. If you haven't set one, we'll ask once

### 1.9.4 — 2026-09-10

Take a photo, and the bottle names itself.

Posting now goes photo, then bottle, then a word. Pick a photo of the bottle and the app reads the label on the spot and offers a few matches. Tap one and you're done, even if you never caught the name.

• "Pick from photo" in the bottle picker: one bottle in front of you, or the whole back bar
• Up to 50 reads a day
• Not in the matches? Search as before

### 1.9.3 — 2026-09-07

Events come to Tequila District.

When an event is on, you'll see it in the top right of Posts, Search and Alerts. Tap through for the event page.

• Pours logged at the venue scroll by, three at a time
• The dates show in the venue's local time — 5pm in Austin reads as 5pm from anywhere
• Brands pouring, with a tap through to their bottles
• At the venue? Start a session with one tap, the place already filled in

Also in this update

• Maps: the town map, your footprints, and a map from restaurant search
• Fixed: the map button failed every time for bars outside Japan. It now opens the place, with directions one tap away in Maps
• Fixed: long titles no longer collide with what sits beside them

### 1.9.2 — 2026-09-05

You can now find bars overseas — 16 cities including Austin, New York and Mexico City. Many have opening hours and phone numbers, and "Directions" takes you there.

Bottles you own now live on your profile as "My shelf", and you can take one off the shelf if you added it by mistake. Posting somewhere private puts your own bottles first.

The shelf scan now shows the photo you took, so you can enlarge it and check the matches against the labels.

Posting now tells you what it is doing.

You can open a participant's profile from a session in progress, and photos taken during a session now appear in the timeline — older ones too.

Fixed member places showing as provisional, and bottle images looking coarse.

You can now see all of your posts from your profile. The date you joined sits next to your name, and you decide whether to show it. Bottles on your shelf are no longer cropped at the top and bottom.

Maps are here. Find bars, browse posts, or open your own profile — each one has a map. You can see at a glance where in town tequila is being drunk. Below the map, the drinks poured in that area line up; tap one and the map moves to that bar, with directions a tap away.

Bottles sold at different strengths by country show as a range, like "38-40%".

Salud!
