## What is TermPlainly?

TermPlainly is a plain-English document explainer for iPhone and iPad. Upload a lease, contract, NDA, offer letter, or other document and TermPlainly produces:

• A short TL;DR of what the document actually says
• Important dates, dollar amounts, and obligations
• Unclear or vague terms that may be worth a second look
• A section-by-section translation into everyday English
• Suggested questions to ask a lawyer

TermPlainly is informational only, not legal advice. TermPlainly is not a law firm and does not form an attorney-client relationship with anyone who uses it. For any legal decision, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.

How it works
1. Pick a PDF or DOCX from Files — iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Mail, or any app that exposes files to iOS.
2. Or tap "Scan a document" to use Apple's built-in document scanner — it detects the page, auto-crops, and corrects perspective before you confirm. No raw photos.
3. TermPlainly uploads it securely, analyzes it, and returns results.
4. Your raw document is deleted from our servers within 24 hours.

How analysis works
TermPlainly uses Anthropic's Claude large language model (Claude Sonnet) to read your document and produce the plain-English summary. The model output is generated text and may be incomplete, miss a clause, or occasionally misread a term. Always verify important details against the original document before acting on it. Anthropic does not use TermPlainly traffic to train their models.

Pricing
Consumable credit packs, purchased through Apple's App Store. A short document costs around 1–5 credits, a long contract around 15–30. Credits never expire. There is no subscription.

Privacy
No accounts. No email or phone number. No ad tracking. Anonymous usage analytics only (no document content). Your document is processed solely to generate your requested analysis and is never used to train AI models. Read the full privacy policy at https://has-deploy.github.io/clearterms-website/privacy-policy.html before first use.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-05-19

Stability + UX improvements:
• Subscription management surfaces a Manage Subscription button.
• Anonymous analytics is now toggleable from Settings.
• Various copy + reliability fixes.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-05-05

Bug fixes and reliability improvements.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-04-30

Internal: paywall analytics instrumentation now captures purchase outcomes (success / cancel / failure with reason). No user-facing changes.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-04-25

1.0.2 — analysis reliability + privacy clarity

• Long documents now finish reliably. Previously, analysis of multi-page contracts could time out at the gateway and surface a "failed" message even though the analysis was actually still running. The app now waits politely for the result and shows it when ready.
• Improved purchase reliability on iPadOS 26 — credit grants now use Apple's StoreKit 2 transaction verification directly, which fixes a sandbox edge case where a fresh purchase could fail to apply credits.
• Added a clear "How analysis works" section to the app description naming Anthropic's Claude as the underlying model and noting that AI output may occasionally miss a detail — please verify against the original document.
• Onboarding analytics now help us understand where new users get stuck. We do not collect document content, names, emails, or any identifier you didn't give us — anonymous events only.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-04-23

Small maintenance update to enable credit-pack in-app purchases.
