Terra is a barcode scanner that goes beyond the label. Scan a food or personal care product to see what's in it, how it was made, and better options. FOOD SCANNER & INGREDIENT CHECKER Scan any grocery barcode for a full ingredient breakdown and an overall score. Terra also uses ingredient logic to flag pesticides and processing aids that may have been used during production, the things that often never make it onto the label. ANIMAL PRODUCT SOURCING DETAILS Terra digs deeper than the carton: • Country of origin • Feed type • Living conditions • Certifications • Antibiotic and hormone use • And more PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT SCANNER Scan skincare, haircare, and other personal care products to see ingredient-level risk scores. The Common Concerns section weighs each product across three areas: • Allergy & immunity • Birth & fertility • Cancer & genotoxicity It's all research-backed, with sources listed right in the app. LOCAL HEALTH & FOOD MAP Find clean food and water near you with Terra's map of: • Direct-to-consumer farmers • Farmers markets • Health food stores • Water refill stations Get hours, contact info, social links, and everything else you'd expect from a map listing, built for people who like to shop local and shop healthy. But actually the core feature of the app is completely free to use. Even an app that is already made is not free to maintain. There are storage, hosting, business, and ongoing development costs. Pricing is clearly shown in the App Store listing. We are a small team and either have to rely on ads or subscriptions to stay running. We chose the subscription model. ### 4/5 — “Top” is lackluster *2026-07-21* The “Top” tab is lacking in choices. If it’s going to be hidden behind a paywall it should’ve more accessible. It does not make sense that we can scan for personal items such as shampoo but there is no way to find them in the “top” tab. Maybe make it searchable and not limited to pre selected categories, or simply add more categories. For example there isn’t a cheese category. Other than that the app is super sick. ### 5/5 — God Bless this App *2026-06-30* the only app you should be using in the grocery store, Yuka isnt this detailed ### 5/5 — X-Ray vision for food *2026-05-14* This app is a huge win for people that want to actually KNOW what they are putting in their bodies. I understand that the majority of people are ok with poisoning themselves with fast food, hostess, and mainstream soda. But for the people that want to know what fuel they put in their bodies, this app is the way to go. I love belong able to scan my groceries and get a deep look at every ingredient and what affect it has on me. BONUS! I love the water feature that makes it super easy to find pure water. Can’t wait to see what the develop team does next! **Developer response:** Thank you 🙏🏼 So awesome to see Terra providing real value for people. If there are any other feature ideas you’d like to see to help you make good food choices, send us a message! ### 5/5 — What would I do without this app!? *2026-05-14* I am obsessively scanning everything at the grocery store and around my house! I love that this app doesn’t just rate products, it actually breaks down the ingredient list and explains what each ingredient is, why it’s used, and how it’s processed in the body. I’ve not seen an app out there that can do this! The metabolic impact section has been super helpful in spotting seed oils, additives, and added sugars without spending forever reading labels! I basically live on the road, so the water fill station locator has honestly been a lifesaver for finding places to refill my water jugs each week. 10/10 recommend this app if you’re trying to become more aware of what you’re putting in your body and want to live a healthier lifestyle! ❤️🍄‍🟫 **Developer response:** Thank you for such a thoughtful review. We are truly grateful for you and everyone who uses the app. So happy you’re loving it 💚 ### 5/5 — Refreshing *2026-05-14* This app is so cool bc it packs some of the best features of other apps into one. I was an early user and it just keeps getting better with every update. Love the brand owner and water machine locator. Those are what I pay attention to most. **Developer response:** So happy you love Terra. We try to take the most valuable information and place it front and center. We will continue to improve and add features. Thank you for using the app! ### 1/5 — The app doesn’t work and makes you pay *2026-05-12* Complete waste of time. The app doesn’t work no matter what you do. They also make you pay and you can’t use it if you don’t pay them **Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for the feedback. The app is fully operational, and we explicitly list our In-App Purchases on the storefront so users can choose how they want to use our features. The free version provides a ton of value and insights with zero ads. We are completely independent. It’d be awesome if we could offer everything for free, but maintaining and updating an ever expanding database comes with costs. We are continuing to improve the app and offer a free trial to anyone wanting to test out the premium features. Please contact our support team at support@getterra.app so we can help troubleshoot any specific technical issues you are experiencing. ### 4/5 — Dope app *2026-04-18* 31 y.o male from Atlanta working in the food industry. I love the app and making a lot of use of it since I live in a sort of food desert. I wish it was more nuanced with some products that aren’t food though. I’ve actually found myself using the app for products that aren’t foods more often than not. To find paraffin free body wash for example. I think it would be cool for products are not listed at all if there was a way to add them to the list to be researched or add them somehow. similar to how some products need descriptions or more info and I have the option to take a picture to fill in the void. It would just be open for any product that would fit the into the category of ethical or healthy. I’ve had the app for a few weeks and am generally loving it! Thanks! **Developer response:** How awesome! We will be expanding into non food products. You’re free to scan them, but fair warning, no app testing has been done on any of them yet. Looking to roll that feature and several more out in the coming months. Really really appreciate the feedback!! ### 5/5 — Learning about my food!! *2026-01-27* Amazing app, I love to read about what the ingredients or additives are and what they do to our body! Why are these in our food?! Terra helps me feel good about knowing what I’m eating and feeding my child!! **Developer response:** Thank you! So happy you’re having a good experience with Terra 💚 ### 5/5 — Helpful *2025-11-07* This app has helped me shop for healthier options for my family and I. The free version functions amazingly but I definitely recommend the premium for the easy to understand in depth details about the ingredients in your food! **Developer response:** Thank you for using Terra. The number one goal is to educate! ## Frequently asked questions about Terra ### What is Terra? Terra is a barcode scanner app that provides detailed insights into food products.
