I use this app for general navigation when hiking, biking or driving off-road. The other app I use is GAIA. GAIA has a lot of layers to choose from, and many more choices for waypoint icons, but this app works best for ease of navigation because it shows all the street and road names, names of terrain features and state/district bike trails. The process for updating tiles is faster and easier than GAIA.

Just downloaded and did my first hike. Surprisingly good maps with topo, trail details, features for recording your exercise etc. Offline map access is super helpful. Happy that you can access this in the free version although when the limits kick in I’m happy to pay for the premium of $18 for life (I think) a much better value than $30/year with AllTrails.

Update: After closing and restarting the app a few times, the satellite slider began to function properly. This app is great, btw, and I appreciate the response to my first post. 

Original: Just downloaded the latest update/release and now I can’t view satellite images despite updating the particular maps I’m interested in. Is there a bug that needs to be fixed?

from our tests the Satellite images overlay works fine (in the new version too).
Please check in case the satellite opacity slider on the bottom-right of the map is properly set to see the Satellite images.

Depuis que j’ai cette application je ne me suis plus perdu lors de mes randonnées, il manque juste une alarme pour les sorties de pistes et la possibilité d’enregistrer directement les GPX

Concernant la possibilité d'enregistrer directement en GPX, en fait l'application enregistre dans un format interne propriétaire (plus compressé) mais permet de partager les pistes en choisissant entre KMZ et GPX. Quel avantage y aurait-il à utiliser GPX comme format interne?

Très pratique pour se situer en balade, en pleine nature. Seul bémol, l’utilisation du GPS vide la batterie très rapidement... il est donc nécessaire de fermer l’application tout de suite après s’être repéré...

“Internet not available” when trying to download the maps, while all other resources works well and connection is quite fast.

the app reports "Internet not available" when the access to our servers is not possible (or too slow). If the Internet is properly available in your device, you should check if you have any firewall or other type of internet "control" that stops the access to our servers (terramap.app). The space you have available is for sure enough, our tiles (squares) average size is around 100MB.

Si tu payes pas, tu peux rien faire, et c’est très cher. Même pas d’essai gratuit durant 7 jours…

excuse moi mais l'abonnement 1 an (qui enlève toute limitation de la version gratuite) coûte 5€, franchement nous ne pensons pas que ce soit un prix trop élevé.

### 1/5 — My pro account does not work on the app needed for new iPhones.

I purchased the full app years ago. Early supporter. Now, I’m asked to pay again? Please fix this so I can give you a 5 star. I live in Portland and the tiles to for Portland will not download and that is where I need to go today. That the heck is going on with this new app?

The app will delete your saved downloads if you have not used the app in a little bit. 

So if had downloaded the entire state. But the app updated well when you get out there into the woods you will be screwed.

have you done what we previously suggested (see old comment below)? If you have done it, then it is enough you log in the new iPhone with your GEC Account. In any case, for any issue, please contact our support@globalterramaps.com.

if you enabled the GEC Account on the old Pro app that you purchased, it is enough that you login to the GEC Account in the new free Terra Map and you will get your PRO account enabled.
If you have not done yet please do it, if for any reason you cannot do (you lost access to your old Terra Pro App) please contact our support@globalterramaps.com, send the receipt of your old Terra Map Pro (always available in your Apple Account) and we will enable the Pro using the GEC Account.

Says maps of Australia.. free.   But ALL of the tiles are locked. False advertising!

**Developer response:** Hi,
you can have on the device up to 3 tiles. So if the app does not allow you to download more tiles it is because you already downloaded 3 tiles. To download another one you shall delete one of the previously downloaded or upgrade to Pro. So the app is free and does allow to download any maps of Australia (and the world) for free with the limitation of 3 tiles stored on the device.

Пользовался версией pro. После обновления системы до ios13, программа затребовала обновления. Обновился и потерял платную версию. Теперь мне предлагают снова купить ее. В топку.

if you still have the PRO App installed on the iPhone the Free one will automatically detect it and give for free the PRO inside the Free App.

I upgraded to pro version and never receive email confirmation. The app is good but I can’t use all the features because I’m not able to login.

**Developer response:** Hi,

we are sorry if you are having any problem but you are not receiving any email when upgrading to PRO. You are only unlocking some functionalities.
 Moreover, there is not relation between the PRO function and the login. You can login to the GEC Account and use its functionalities even if you have not purchased the PRO version.

Map may not be accurate when you choose colourful option. The water tower that wasn’t there magically appeared. Just funny and annoying at the same time because I paid for an app or map that isn’t reliable. The map update also fell short of my expectation.

Edit: I was informed that for Canada maps, it uses Canvec and not OSM. Maps are out of date.

Been using TerraMaps for over 10 years and find their maps excellent for off-line use when walking, skiing and kayaking. Loading a gpx file into the maps prior to a trip is easy. You can also record and save your tracks in gpx file format. Excellent app for the money.

Everything is grey on my screen, I can’t see the maps anymore. I’ve payed for the app, and nothing, especially when I really need  the app working… I don’t know what to do.

sorry for the issue, a new version of the App is in approval to solve this problem and should be available by tomorrow. If you are in a hurry, you can try setting your device Appearance = "Light", then close the Terra Map from the background and launch it again.
