## Most critical reviews (9 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — no longer works with latest ios

Please update this app.

### 1/5 — Mr

Unlike Escher who added details to his shapes to create beautiful images this app just makes the shapes. Not Escherish at all...pls add some creative options once the shapes are made.

### 3/5 — Good start, needs more to be great

*2022-08-01*

This app does tesselate! It provides a selection of existing shapes (square, triangle, etc.), and wherever you touch and drag within the corners of those shapes, the app responds by creating a live tessellation (and also shows the repeating pattern in the background). Very nice to see the pattern immediately!

Now, this could become cooler and way more useful (not to mention educational) in the following ways:
(1) allow the end points (say the peak of the triangle) to move. Right now the shape’s points are pretty much fixed in spot, despite all the changes you can make elsewhere. I would call this the “edit” button
(2) an undo/redo option would be nice for quick test runs
(3) create a “curves” button where you press, hold, and drag to introduce a bend in your line. Groovy.

### 3/5 — Damnit

I bought this app thinking it makes tessellations out of your photos.. It doesn't. The description doesn't explain anything. This really just is a app to play with shapes and solid colors. More pics would be helpful, but then again look at me I bought it lol

### 4/5 — Great but crashes on “Export Image”

*2020-04-27*

If you’re curious about tessellations this is amazing. But on my iPhone it crashes when I try to save the image.

Also it’d be nice to be able to save higher resolution, or better, export as SVG (vector format).

### 4/5 — Very good app, needs better description

*2015-10-20*

The main problem with this app is that it is not well described here in the App Store. From the description, it is not entirely clear what this app does. Some more example shots would help this problem.

Let me see if I can describe it. In this app, you choose from a variety of tessellation shapes such as triangle and square. You begin with that basic shape. You then get to change the shape by "drawing" with your finger. It's less like painting and more like drawing with a ruler. (Or, if you like, it's less like pixel drawing and more like vector drawing.) Of course, you do not have complete freedom to draw whatever shape you want because the shape must tessellate. The app does an excellent job of maintaining the tessellation as you draw. You also have control over the colors. It's really quite entertaining.

The main improvement I would request is an "undo" button. It's too easy to add a new corner unintentionally, and without an undo button the unwanted corner is difficult to deal with.

Overall, it's really a very good app. Kudos!

### 4/5 — This is a cool app, does what it says, can we have .SVG vector output, please?

*2015-07-19*

You can have fun with this from the start, SVG output would take it to the next level.
Also it would be interesting to have two alternating shapes like Escher sometimes did

### 4/5 — Fun but could use polish

*2014-11-11*

This is a fun little app to doodle with. I enjoyed trying out all the types of tessellations and trying to make something cool. The biggest problem is that the color picker doesn't let you choose black or dark colors. The flow is a little odd too: it's weird to name your file before you've even started it! Some examples would go a long way too. Overall, I can only take a star off for the color picker bug. Recommended!

### 5/5 — Thank you for the game!

I'm Sean B. and my birthday is coming up. I learned about tesselations in math class and I wanted à tesselations app and this one is very good. I made mountains in shades of blue out of a hexagon. This app is in my top five favorite that I have explored this month. Thank you for the happy app
