## What is Tessera?

Stand in front of a 2,000-year-old house and hear exactly what it was — right where you're standing.

Seventy-three stops in Pompeii, told out loud, working entirely offline.

Inside the excavations there is barely any signal and barely any signage. This guide is downloaded before the trip and then needs nothing: no network, no roaming, no queue at the audio guide desk.

WALK WITHOUT DECIDING
Three ready routes, from one hour to three and a half. The time is measured, not guessed: it counts the real walking distance along the streets, the length of every recording, and the time you spend looking. Pick the one that fits the hours you actually have, and the guide leads you from stop to stop and counts down what is left.

WHAT YOU HEAR
The Forum, the House of the Faun, the Lupanar, the Great Theatre, the Villa of the Mysteries. And what came out of the ground in the last two years: the Black Room, the hall of the Dionysian mysteries, the bakery where slaves and donkeys turned the millstones. Guidebooks printed before 2024 do not have these.

Every story and the entire app are in English, start to finish.

Tessera now warns you when the stories are not fully downloaded. There is no signal inside the excavations, and the gate is a bad place to find that out.

Buying is one step shorter: the payment sheet opens straight away and the download starts on its own.

The map opens closer — the city fills the screen instead of being lost among the fields — and no longer zooms out past the park.

The play button comes back to life after a story reaches its end.

Smaller things: the map returns to the overview when you close a route, two controls no longer share the same icon, and the button that replays the tips works again.
