## What is Tethers?

Tethers is a calm, private relationship tracker for the people who matter most.

Life moves fast. Months pass before you realize you haven't called your college roommate, caught up with your mentor, or checked in on a friend going through something hard. Tethers helps you stay ahead of that drift, not with pressure, but with a gentle nudge at the right moment.

Organize by closeness
Put people into tiers — Inner Circle, Close, Regular, or whatever makes sense to you. Each tier has its own check-in rhythm. When it's been too long, you'll know.

Gentle nudges, not guilt
No streaks. No scores. No shame. Just a quiet daily reminder when someone could use a "hey, thinking of you." You set the pace, one nudge a day or five, whenever feels right.

Log the ways you actually connect
A quick call. A long catch-up in person. A birthday text. Tethers tracks how you connect (calls, texts, in-person visits, or anything else) so the picture of your relationships stays accurate over time.

Add birthdays and Tethers will quietly surface them before the day arrives, so you're never sending a late message again.

Relationship insights
See how your year looked: total check-ins, who you reached out to most, connection patterns by type, and which relationships might need a little more attention. Honest, useful, never judgmental.

Your data, and only yours
Tethers stores relationship data on your device, with optional private iCloud sync through your Apple account. No Tethers account. No third-party analytics or tracking. Your relationships stay private.

Tethers isn't about optimizing your social life. It's about not losing the people you care about to the noise of everyday life.

Relationship updates and check-ins are now more reliable when storage is temporarily unavailable. Tethers also preserves notification and Shortcut check-ins for a safe retry instead of losing them.

Widget check-ins are now safely preserved until they're saved in Tethers, including when several are logged close together. Contact linking now explains optional private iCloud sync more clearly.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-24

Tethers 2.0 adds smarter, private on-device message ideas that read the notes you choose, remember the drafts you keep, and stay grounded in real context. You can also add a personal Day That Matters for each person, alongside birthdays, with gentle annual reminders. This build also improves reminder reliability, widget and Siri check-ins, import safety, and relationship-state consistency.

### 1.9 — 2026-06-06

Version 1.9 refines Tether's daily relationship view with cleaner people cards, improved contact actions, smoother outreach suggestions, updated settings panels, and a refreshed app icon. It also removes unused photo-enhancement experiments and includes reliability fixes across sharing, reminders, widgets, and exports.

v1.8 comes with a brand new, calmer look, an enhanced (still private) logic for on-device generated Message Drafts, as well as bug fixes and general improvements
