But it gets glitchy as it speeds up and level 10 amps up in speed very suddenly and exponentially in my opinion. Things just drop all of a sudden and messes up my flow. ### 3/5 — So close… *2026-04-15* It’s almost perfect. But for me I like to play Tetris to relax and I really really like to have a fixed level mode so the speed stays constant. It’s not relaxing when it speeds up. Add to that, like other reviewers have said, the speed jump in this app is ridiculous it gets so fast so suddenly :( Would personally pay more $ for the same app with a fixed levels mode option. Please add this 🙏 ### 3/5 — Decent Tetris app *2026-04-07* This is the most simple and clean Tetris app I’ve found so far. The game plays really well for basic gameplay. There are some issues, like no setting to turn off sound effects (really??). There also seems to be an issue with tetromino distribution. I’ve started games with things like 4 back to back 2x2 blocks. It would also be nice to have a save tetromino option if you choose. I know it isn’t an OG feature, but it would help a lot with the distribution issue as I mentioned. There’s also an insane speed jump at 90 lines cleared. First, and other people have said this, there are no options to turn the sound completely off, and the clicking of the blocks is pretty distracting. Second, the controls are a little weird, and some delicate maneuvers are impossible to pull off because the moment any piece makes contact with another, they lock into place. When the pieces start moving faster this becomes an even greater issues because you literally cannot react at all in time to rotate the pieces before they lock in place. Other than those things though, this game is great, and absolutely worth it! ### 2/5 — Too simple *2026-01-04* The game feels like it’s 50% finished. You can’t save a block for later use, graphics and sound are very, very basic. It’s clean. It’s not full of bloatware. And it’s Tetris. The only complaints I’ve got are about the lack of polish. For example, there’s no animation for eliminating rows. Also, insta failing at the top with no grace is a bit annoying. A lot of other apps handle that a bit better. But yeah- it’s what I wanted. I don’t want any bloat! However 3 things could really be better: 1. there is no way to save a high score against yourself. You just start over. 2. as with all touch screens once the level gets fast with no haptic response you cannot accurately move or rotate the pieces. 3. Also in all my Tetris playing this version really seems to have too many of the same piece in a row. Perhaps it is truly random and not adjusted to human perception of fair, but it can be frustrating waiting for the Tetris to fall. All that said, it does what it says. NO incessant requests for reviews. Does it reset your level to 1 if you close and reopen it? Yes. This is exactly the behavior you would get if you walked into the arcade and put a quarter in the machine. If you want to play with the sound completely off, put your phone on silent and detach headphones. If you want sound effects but no background music, go in the settings and uncheck music. Hate the color scheme? Change it! Want to play with buttons instead of swipe? You got it. The only option I would add is some kind of continuous mode where the speed stays constant and the level gets pushed down - like a pez dispenser - so that I don’t have to feel anxious about losing. I mainly play while processing trauma if I’m away from therapy and have a painful flashback. Developer: your app is worth more than $0.99!
