### 2/5 — Players ??

*2025-08-13*

Just found this app , haven’t been able to play anyone else other than AI. Would love to be able to play actual players like other on line doms games

### 4/5 — Texas 42 HD

*2023-05-20, version 5.3*

Enjoy playing this game but not when my dominoes are revealed before they are in my hand when drawing. Not fair that opponents can see what dominoes I’m drawing.

### 2/5 — Texas 42

*2022-08-22, version 5.3*

I threw a trump the player next to me did not throw a trump, my partner threw a trump and the guy next to him did not throw a trump. On the next hand I threw a double 5 knowing my partner was the only one with trumps when the the guy to my left threw a trump taking the hand. So yes the game cheats.

### 3/5 — Locks up

*2021-01-28, version 5.3*

Love playing this game, but have constant issues with it locking up

### 3/5 — Texas 42

*2020-06-20, version 5.3*

A beautiful game and a real shame that u prefer the outer to win all the time . I get junk every hand and my components get lay downs ! Sad Sad ! love playing 42 but not !! With this handicap
Don’t understand ! You are treated this way after paying for the game , my left side and right side players gets a handful of high numbers every time : I very seldom get a double and very low if I get two dominos that matches, I am done ! I like a challenge but like to get a decent hand to work with some of the time! Please send refund !

### 4/5 — Best 42 App, but not perfect

*2020-02-15, version 5.0*

Of all of the Texas 42 apps, this one has the best game logic. One place it could definitely improve however, relates to a partner’s play when count is added early in a hand. For example, twice when the opponents get high bid, then lead a low trump, I have played a count domino in hopes my partner had a high trump. Both times my partner had high trumps, but played lower ones instead, thus forfeiting the count we should have won.
I agree with others who suggest the shuffles seem not to be purely random, but overall, this is the best 42 app I have tried.

### 2/5 — Texas 42 Single player

*2018-12-08, version 4.3*

I must admit that I am not pro status playing 42. However, I have played enough years to know the auto shuffle is not truly random. For instance, at least 80 to 90% of the time the single player opponents will always have the double to each other’s off.

The default player Phillip will win his bid some 90% of the time. It would be like two partners glancing at each other’s hand before bidding.

The only real good I see in this App, it is good for teaching new players. Otherwise, it is a waste of time and money.

### 2/5 — Is not worth it

*2018-11-03, version 4.3*

Don’t waste money on this. It is rigged against your team no matter what hand you play.

### 2/5 — Quality has slipped

*2018-08-16, version 4.3*

I have been using this app for years. Recently, play by my AI partner has slipped, such as making silly bids. I had been impressed by the how well the AI played, but not so much lately. Has negatively affected my interest in the using the app.

### 2/5 — Idiot Partner!

*2017-06-03, version 4.3*

My partner is an idiot! The game is rigged against you. I want a new partner, or maybe I'll simply delete the app!

### 1/5 — Can't connect

*2016-01-01, version 4.2*

I can never play a multiplayer game. It won't ever connect to other players. Frustrating.

### 4/5 — 42

*2015-09-12, version 4.0*

Good game
Has a glitch when you play hello doubles and does not recognize doubles as a trump

### 4/5 — Good, but….

*2015-08-06, version 4.0*

One issue to be aware of is that they didn’t make this app a dual platform app. I paid $2.99 for this app on the iPad..and have discovered I have to pay $1.99 for the same app on the iPhone? Mmmm, not a good way to garner good gaming will. $2.99 is expensive for a game with simplistic graphics that need a bit more polish.

### 1/5 — Players ??

*2025-09-06, version 5.3*

Just found this app , haven’t been able to play anyone else other than AI. Would love to be able to play actual players like other on line doms games.
Is there anybody in there???
Love the Phillip Jay Fry opponents. So futuristic 🤙

### 1/5 — Texas 42

*2023-12-04, version 5.3*

This app has multiple problems with the programming/ algorithms…
Any player with experience will catch the mistakes.

### 1/5 — Congratulations

*2023-07-13, version 5.3*

This version is a double dealing piece of crap just like your other game

### 1/5 — Makes critical errors

*2020-06-16, version 5.3*

I have been playing 42 for 50 yrs. I really like this version, except for the lack of a low boy game. However, it occasionally makes a mistake on rewarding the trick. Also, computer partner bid 36 once on fives without having the double five.......duh.
I enjoy the app tho and still play it.

### 1/5 — Multiplayer

*2019-03-25, version 4.3*

Multiplayer will only work for a short time. Disappointed, could have been a good app.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2018-08-18, version 4.3*

I just purchased this app, its hard to get through a game without the screen freezing! Plus hands are not placed randomly! I've played 42 for 60 years. Don't waste your money on this game!

I tried to write a review, but this kept coming up. Th game is not at all random. I keep getting the same dominos. And something that infuriates me is the draw for last bid. Many times I have had the highest count, but the game gives last bid to someone else. I have also had the bid when my partner has last bid and he will overbid me, sometimes without a double to his trump, unbelievable!

### 1/5 — Bidding terrible

*2018-01-04, version 4.3*

My computer partner bid 35 in fours trump and did not even have double four or six four

### 1/5 — Blah!

*2017-05-09, version 4.3*

Horrible, deleted it from my iPad.

### 1/5 — Horrible! Rigged

*2016-10-26, version 4.3*

This game is Texas 42 in name only. I've been playing 42 for decades. Luck plays a huge part in being successful.
You can't win when one side virtually gets key doubles at least seven times out of ten! East - West will be dealt the trump 1, trump 2, trump 3 around seven of ten deals! Trump 4 is maybe six of ten times! By trump I mean the double of these suits.
If I were playing craps or poker and this happened, it would be shades of the old West. Gun smoke, etc.
The only way to get a barely even chance is to play the bones face up and base your bid accordingly.
Too bad, graphics are nice. Setting player styles is barely useful. No in between settings and whatever I have tried so far doesn't seem to have any effect. North bids and plays horribly and with no consistency. Too bad since it claims to be developed by a Texas A&M Aggie, hence the maroon colors.

### 1/5 — Shady AI

*2016-02-01, version 4.2*

The one star is only because it won't allow a no-star rating. This is pathetically rigged garbage. I am not totally convinced that even when I get first draw the AI doesn't still manipulate what I get. I rarely get any good hands to work with, and the AI clearly knows what every player in the game has. It's ridiculous. Absurd. Fix it.

### 5/5 — Great Game

*2022-03-31, version 5.3*

I probably spend too much time on this game. But it is a great way to relax. It keeps you from getting bored in a day when you’re at home with nothing to do. Especially when you are an old fart.

Old University Professor Joe Boy in Beautiful Colorado,
with plans for more Fun before going home! We have traveled much of this earth. But my wife and I still have not seen everything! So we are looking for other places to visit. So give us some enjoyable places that you have visited!

### 5/5 — My Experience is Great

*2020-06-15, version 5.3*

You can't expect a computer game program to never make mistakes. I have been playing 42 for about 42 years, and I have tried every program I have found. To me, this is BY FAR the best of them. Yes, I would say about 1 game in 20 my partner seems to make a fairly obvious playing error. Then again, a human partner might also make errors. The opponents rarely seem to err, but one would tend to notice that less. I have had and continue to have so much fun with this app that I can only rate it five stars. However, there is one important issue: it's supposed to work over the Internet, which would allow my son and I to be partners; but I have never succeeded in making that work. It would be really nice if that did work. I want to end on a positive note. This is a brilliant app.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2020-02-07, version 5.0*

Excellent game! The reviews that speak negatively about the game are very wrong.

### 5/5 — Texas 42 HD

*2017-11-17, version 4.3*

This is the only game I have on my iPad. Very enjoyable to play. I enjoy the bidding process, playing nello, and I like the way the score, the trumps, and the points earned are displayed. I sharpen my skills every time I play. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys playing 42 , nello, or splash.

### 5/5 — Best 42 App

*2017-02-09, version 4.3*

Well designed and authentic to the real game. Competitive levels are nice. In other apps your partner is liable to miss nuances, but this app knows when to throw count and cover 10-counts. Haven't used the add-a-player feature yet.

### 5/5 — Still like the game.

*2015-09-16, version 4.0*

Player to Left wins bid with 84 and goes nello doubles. He leads 1-4, partner plays 4-4, I play 0-4 thinking we just set him. Wrong. Partner wins trick. Partner actually had 3-4 and should have been forced to play it, but wasn't. Not sure if similar to previous review.

### 5/5 — One small issue...

*2015-07-22, version 4.0*

Love the game, but would love to have one text correction. When I bid in fives text says "five are trumps" instead of " fives are trumps" and it niggles at me! I know it's ridiculous, but please could you fix it? It is only for me; the text is correct when the other players bid in fives. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Love the app, have one request

*2015-07-13, version 4.0*

Great app. It brings back tons of memories of family gathered around my grandparents table playing late into the night.

The only thing missing for me relates to scoring. Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems that the only scoring/winning system is by marks. Would love to be able to opt for playing a game for straight points to 250.

### 5/5 — Good but minor issues

*2015-05-03, version 3.1.1*

I love 42 and this is overall a good version, easy to play and fun. The only issue is there is never anyone online to play against. Playing single mode is fine, but I would like to play against real humans.

### 5/5 — Add Sevens?

*2015-03-04, version 3.1.1*

Love this game. How about adding sevens as an option along with nello and splash/plunge?
