It maybe then would allow for a larger window at the bottom of the screen where the currently teeny weeny Part Arm etc. selection that now need to be ticked to choose, are located. Personally, I thought it was better as it was previously with the buttons. ### 2/5 — Glen B *2026-08-13, version V3.1.0* Always struggled with this app, but the version prior to the latest update seemed to work quite well. However, following the latest update, nothing works. If we set the alarm in the app, then disarm using the panel, it doesn’t update the app, so you still think it is armed. Today, can’t set it at all using the app. Serious issues need addressing quickly. Very frustrating. ### 3/5 — Improved Update but still needs work *2026-08-10, version V3.1.0* Updating/upgrading this to reflect the latest update in Aug 2026 Positive: Swipe left-right function is back for multiple areas so thanks for listening. Having to access the menu for this exclusively in the last release was a real pain. Negative: Font contrast and colours are still extremely dated, and hard to read in low light. Please make the UX less frictional. It should be clear, decent contrast, slightly larger font size (e.g., in menus), and more visually useful. The ability to load an image to represent the area being armed for example is much quicker to recognise. Make more use of visual cues. ——————————————- Previous release (awful): Great job not asking users what they actually need before deciding to ruin the UI. Now you can hardly read the font or buttons, perfect for when you are in a hurry or trying to reset the alarm in the dark. Next you took away the keypad. Again, when it’s night or you are in a rusg and you are trying to punch in your code you can no longer use muscle memory. Finally you drop the swipe action. So now to arm/disarm the second building I have to a) drop list a menu and then b) try to read a tiny low contrast font. Absolutely zero benefit and retrograde UX. I would give this a negative review but 1 seems appropriate. Please do better and reinstate everything you ‘improved’. ### 4/5 — Good but needs dark mode *2026-08-08, version V3.1.0* App is good enough but requires dark mode setting for when arming at night in the dark! Hurts your eyes switching from another app with dark mode to Texecom. ### 3/5 — Upgrade woes *2026-08-05, version V3.1.0* Previous app connection was almost instant, this “upgrade” takes much longer to connect ### 2/5 — Could be better *2026-08-01, version V3.1.0* 1. Biometric login is pointless because you can’t set it to automatically login. You click a button which is the same hassle as clicking login since it already stores your passcode. 2. Automation recipes only alert you in a useful way if you have a single recipe. More than one and you get the same generic message telling you a recipe has triggered but not which one. 3. An advert now dominates the screen with no way to remove it. 4. The number of clicks to part set has increased from 2 to 3. 5. Waiting for the log to display is an exercise in patience. In summary this is an app that would benefit from a good UX Designer. ### 2/5 — Terrible UX *2026-07-17, version V3.0.7* Latest update moves away from mobile-friendly swipe gestures between properties / alarms to a big-screen style of small menus and scrolling. Big step backwards, miss-click the selection menu several times before getting to the right location. Does it feel like it was built in the 2000s? Yes. Does it have other functionality that is useless (ip cameras that need to be configured with a snapshot url, recipes that have no outside integration). Yes. ### 2/5 — Convenient *2026-06-28, version V3.0.7* Sadly after following all FAQ’s, rebooting, deleting app, reinstalling several times, regardless only master user can open app with biometrics. Very very irritating that house owners are always two yet one gets to have the better experience!!!!!! ### 1/5 — WE NEED CRITICAL ALERTS *2026-06-25, version V3.0.7* What a waste of money and time installing this. Why take a good app and “upgrade” to such rubbish? Months on from relaunch, still terrible. ### 1/5 — Needs a well overdue update *2026-06-04, version V3.0.7* This app is very basic, it tells you when you personally set the alarm or turn the alarm off. That’s it. It doesn’t tell you if it’s been set off for any other reason though. So if it goes off at 5am because the battery is low and it’s faulted or someone has entered your property you won’t get a notification, this is not great at all and not handy for when you’re away from home. ### 3/5 — Frustrating bugs *2026-05-29, version V3.0.7* When I log in with a code with access to one area, it loads an "Unnamed Area 1" as the default area, which always shows disarmed, and If I interact with any of the arm/disarm buttons, it has no effect. I have to tap "Unnamed Area 1" and change it to the named area myself to be able to see or set the arm/disarm state. I also have an issue with the alarm panels letting out communication error tones if the app is left open on my phone. ### 1/5 — Worse than useless *2026-05-24, version V3.0.7* The app has been changed and is now pretty much no use at all. As for the home alarm system. It fails repeatedly, constantly asks for an engineer to reset after it false alarms and is now of no use whatsoever due to its constant false alarms. Worst purchase ever. ### 1/5 — Not impressed *2026-05-14, version V3.0.7* Just had a new alarm installed following a house move. Not impressed with the app that only logs in intermittently or the fobs that randomly work. The app takes 15-20 seconds to respond to an alarm change. It’s a much worse version Also there is not ability to turn chime on and off via the app. These problems are significant and creating the idea of continuing with Texecom or not ### 1/5 — Update doesn't work properly *2026-08-08, version V3.1.0* I have 4 issues with this update. Firstly it's trashed my ability to part set our alarm system at night. The new app's part-arm button is forcing the alarm into a full set, meaning the upstairs PIRs are active. Now the only way to part arm the house is to use the keypad which defeats the point of the app. As I found out yesterday from the problem above, the bug that stops the app from alerting me when the alarm is activated is still not working. Useless. Third, the home screen has an incredibly annoying ad for Texecom Guardian. I don't want to pay an additional £9.50 per month to duplicate a service I'm paying for separately that's provided by the alarm company. So this ad is taking up screen real estate when instead I should be able to opt out once & for the home screen to just show my alarm system. Fouth, your app developers should try using it while wearing a pair of glasses that make their eyesight similar to someone who is 55+ & who needs reading glasses. Then the dev team might understand that little buttons & small writing are impossible to read & imagine what that is like when the alarm goes off at 2am. Please fix these problems. Employ / contract a design team to help you with your user experience - it smacks of an app that developers are let loose on without actual designers. ### 1/5 — Advertising their own products *2026-08-03, version V3.1.0* The new Texecom Guardian is essentially an advert taking up a chunk of the home page and you can’t dismiss it. Also personalisation like a photo of your house has gone, and the part arm functionality is more fiddly now. It’s also less reliable and has needed a force quit and restart to arm the system. ### 1/5 — Truly Shocking *2026-07-03, version V3.0.7* This app is truly awful. We have a Texcom System and due to the only place we could put the main control pad the app was the answer to arming and disarming. Well 80% of the time the family gives up and the house is not secured. When it does work and arm, it then won’t unarm when we return and the alarm sounds. The app crashes and only works with perfect signal. I even had a perfect WiFi signal from the house and the app just spiral until I give up and set the alarm off getting to the control panel. Biggest regret of my life going Texcon!! Also why not use the Face ID to log into the app? ### 1/5 — Just terrible *2026-06-28, version V3.0.7* Inconsistent. Thank you for listening to the users and reinstating this. ### 5/5 — Modern update *2026-07-20, version V3.0.7* Great update ### 5/5 — Unreliable app *2026-07-13, version V3.0.7* Only had the alarm approx a year, we changed wi do provider not knowing how much it would cost just for the alarm installer guy to come and take 5mins to charge us nearly £100, this happened again as had to change back so he charged the same again as app dropped out another nearly £100 in two weeks, now the alarm guy thinks as our app has randomly stopped connecting with the panel he has to come again and pay £100 but I’m not doing that, wish we’d never got this Alarm the app has been so unreliable! Refresh made it seem slower and didn’t present setting options on iPad in a way that enabled easy use. A little later and it’s fixed. All functioning well. I still don’t think a security app should ever be released and not work seamlessly. And I don’t love the ui. The update took longer than I expected and I think for all the fixes they made they should have called this version 3.1 rather 3.0.6 ### 5/5 — Where has Face ID login gone??? *2025-11-02, version V3.0.5* So in the latest “update” Face ID no longer works! Can be made as involved or as basic as is needed.
