*2026-01-14*

*2025-09-09, version 1.9.31*

### 4/5 — It compiles LaTex documents well, and shows errors. But there are a few issues

*2025-07-25, version 1.9.31*

Theres three issues that I found to be a little annoying so far:

1. When closing a document, it always automatically compiles the document. This means I have to wait for it to compile while I am exiting that document. From a user interface perspective, that doesn't make sense. If I am finished with the document, I don't want to wait to compile it. It shouldn't ever really automatically compile unless I explicitly request it.

2. I cannot export the error output log. It just doesn't work. There is a button, and a sharesheet, but nothing gets exported when selecting any apps to share it with. It doesn't even copy to the clipboard.

3. Another issue is that after compiling a document successfully, I want to export it as a PDF. Sometimes that button is just not there in the export menu. Then later it appears. I guess it shouldn't be there if there is no PDF to export (or maybe grayed out instead?) but if I have a working document, it should be there.

### 3/5 — Good overall but the error log file output does not work

*2025-05-24, version 1.9.31*

Good overall but the error log file output does not work

### 4/5 — The best latex app

*2025-03-19, version 1.9.31*

This is the best latex app available that compiles it within, with a fairly decent UI as well. Nevertheless, file integration is very far from elegant, to put it gently. It is cumbersome to access files in an intuitive way. Integration with iCloud is far from seamless, and the Dropbox legacy integration showing up is a little bit upsetting. I would definetly pay a suscription, as with overleaf, if the app turned really pro

### 2/5 — Customer Support is Awful

*2024-11-09, version 1.9.29*

I have been using this app for years and have grown to depend on it. Recently, though, I have been unable to export files from it. I got on the company's web site and had to sift through many levels until I finally found a way to contact them. When I did, I received an automated response saying---in effect---that they were probably too busy to help me, but in order to do at all so they required me to provide something called a screencast and gave me a link to a site that supposedly would help. This---and the links I found at this site---were, for the most part, applicable only to either Windows or MacOs, whereas I am using an iPad Pro. Sorry, but customer relations for this app is very poor.

### 2/5 — Bundles download

*2024-09-25, version 1.9.27*

There are lots of issues with the server while trying to download the bundles, every 2 minutes it is indicted errors whit the server.

### 4/5 — Best TeX iPad App

*2024-08-27, version 1.9.27*

I’ve used half a dozen TeX apps for iPad, and this is my favorite by far. Everything I usually do on my Linux desktop works here (except some very unique and rare font stuff), so I can move files between my iPad and computer easily.

I have a few, minor gripes. There’s a weird shortcut from holding down the space bar, which is super annoying. I’ve never needed the shortcut and frequently need to type multiple spaces, which I can’t figure out how to turn off. The app isn’t great in split-screen mode, where the error report will pop out and take up most of the screen, but also hide the button that hides the error report. I have trouble keeping it in the editor-only view as well, so on half an iPad screen, it will try to display three windows. Ideally the compiler errors would just be a little red number at the top of the editor when in split-screen. Also I want to be able to use vim in the editor, but that is asking for a lot haha.

### 4/5 — Super App - mit zwei kleinen nervigen Einschränkungen

*2024-08-08, version 1.9.27*

### 5/5 — I hope it supports ctex.

*2024-04-21*

CJK is old style.

### 5/5 — Bester LaTeX Editor

*2024-03-28*

Macht bitte immer weiter so!

### 3/5 — Doesn't render BibTeX properly for IEEE files in Local Typeset

*2024-02-24, version 1.9.26*

It would render it in the display. But when you export, the [1] and [2]'s just become [?]'s. Keeps fooling me and causuing me issues.

Also, can't share the PDF output to other apps. It just generates it somewhere only God knows.

Also, the downloading of bundles is obnoxious. I have to keep turning the wifi on and off for it to progress. Once it fails, it just stops until the connection is reset.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unsure who does TeX this way

*2026-05-10, version 1.9.33*

I’m really confused exactly who writes tex files in the manner that this program is expecting. At best, it’s absurd. It doesn’t connect with external systems, file structures, or cloud services at all (even though it says it does), it doesn’t allow the importing of previously made Tex files, and it expects a *file* when you attempt to link a *folder*(???!!!). It clearly intends to be completely self-contained and limited almost entirely to itself. The rest of us write for analysis and dissemination as a primary purpose… but apparently users of this program write in Tex as if it were a personal journal, always starting from scratch and creating for the authors eyes only. For $29.99, there should be full file system functionality and the ability to import Tex files and edit them on a major cloud server.

### 1/5 — Expensive and useless

*2026-02-18, version 1.9.33*

I bought this extremely expensive piece of programming to help me typesett Latex files on my ipad. I am a student studying maths and really needed that facility. This worthless piece of programming wont open a file unless it creates it itself

### 1/5 — Not support Chinese

*2026-02-13, version 1.9.33*

When I use “\usepackage{ctex}” it will report an error: “engine not supported”. The app claim that it support Chinese, but it does not support indeed. Cunning developer!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t display the pdf output

*2025-08-24, version 1.9.31*

It compiles and show the pdf on the side but doesn’t generate it automatically and the option to export the file doesn’t work for the pdf! I searched much and there is no help to find out how to solve this issue!

### 1/5 — No Biber support

*2025-06-13, version 1.9.31*

This is not a working latex compiler : it does not support the widely used and often necessary Biber bibliography backend. I'm therefore unable to produce bibliographies and references.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever doesn’t do what it states

*2025-04-22, version 1.9.31*

Awful app. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I bought both this iPhone and iOS version and the MacBook version. And neither works. And they won’t give a refund either even when requested within 24hours of purchase. Despite the fact that it can’t render files which has structure format or anything more complicated than 1 page document. Waste of my money. Save your money and use something else. No customer service either.

### 1/5 — Limited functionality

*2025-01-14, version 1.9.30*

Basically, you can’t add packages. So, if texifier does not have the package you need, it’s useless. Defeats the point of using LaTeX. Disappointing that they don’t care about fixing the problem.

### 1/5 — Overpriced for its functions

*2024-09-20, version 1.9.27*

Bought this app specifically for its package support. Except it doesn’t work, at all. Only two servers, one not responding, the other one unable to complete a single package. Embarrassing.

### 1/5 — Insuffisant

*2023-10-06, version 1.9.21*

### 1/5 — Bad

*2023-07-21, version 1.9.21*

I can't undo my writing

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Write LaTex technical documents and publish to pdf

*2026-06-28, version 1.9.33*

Texifier is a fully-functional application for writing technical documents using LaTex, a coding language for writing highly specific text formatting. I would say it is a great entry level LaTex app. Its main advantage, in my opinion, is that it is ready to use right after installation without complicated compiler installations or online account setups. The app is easy to use for composing articles, theses, dissertations, etc. and publishing to pdf. It is not much help with LaTex, but LaTex is not easy to use in the first place. My biggest complaint is file organization conflicts with the sandboxing on iPad iOS.

### 5/5 — Super handy

*2026-03-11, version 1.9.33*

If you’re a Latex aficionado, this app is very convenient.

### 5/5 — Muito bom

*2026-01-28, version 1.9.33*

Excelente

### 5/5 — Best on-the-go LaTeX app

*2025-07-10, version 1.9.31*

Easily the best app for writing LaTeX on the go, with an excellent desktop counterpart available as well

### 5/5 — Works as indicated

*2025-06-30, version 1.9.31*

Perfect of offline use. for online I prefer Overleaf. I would like to able to directly edit overleaf projects and sync.

### 5/5 — Worth the cost

*2025-03-23, version 1.9.31*

I’m pleasantly impressed by Texifier. Coming from a desktop VimTeX / XeLaTeX setup, this has all the features I’m used to and more. The on-the-fly typesetting works better than any other editor I’ve tried.
Some things such as SVG include don’t work as they ordinarily require a shell escape, but easy to work around (save graphics as pgf instead).
I’ve never spent this much on an app before, but being a lifetime license I had little hesitancy. It turned out to be unequivocally worth the cost. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Very good app for latex writing

*2025-01-30, version 1.9.30*

I like it works on folders from both iCloud and files app.

### 5/5 — Need to be improved

*2024-12-25, version 1.9.29*

Text selection needs improvement and undo feature is sometimes broken

### 5/5 — Very good

*2024-12-24, version 1.9.29*

The only true LaTeX typesetter for the iPadOS

### 5/5 — Hervorragende App für LaTex mit iPad

*2024-06-21*
