This small update is an important bug fix that addressed some unusual behavior on the iPad and iPad mini displays. The app now also works correctly on macOS 26.

With the new QR code exchange, TeXitor leaves the cloud behind: formulas, reaction equations, or entire editor contents are displayed directly as a QR code and scanned by another device in seconds – with no account, no internet connection, and no detour through email or chat. TeXitor 2.0 — LaTeX & Typst (offline)
A quick summary up front: 1.0.6 was a pure LaTeX formula app built on KaTeX/MathJax. In 2.0, it has grown into a full dual-engine editor with native Typst integration.

Major New Features

• Typst as a second formula engine. Alongside LaTeX/KaTeX, there's now a full native live preview plus the Alchemist package for chemical skeletal formulas and structure drawings — the Typst counterpart to mhchem.
• Snippet library (S1–S10). Ten freely assignable Typst code snippets with their own thumbnails, which can either be generated automatically from the live preview or imported directly as PNG/SVG.
• Undo/redo. A full undo/redo system with up to 100 steps, including shake-to-undo and smart grouping of rapid input into a single step.
• Dedicated keyboard toolbars per engine. Separate symbol rows for LaTeX ({} brackets, \sqrt, \ce{} …) and for Typst (() brackets, sqrt(), ce(""), even a skeletal-formula template as its own key).
• Expanded thumbnail import. Now accepts SVG files in addition to PNG, which are automatically rendered and cropped.

New Legal/Structural Additions

• New "Open Source Software" screen with license information — made necessary by the inclusion of Typst and the Alchemist package.
• TeXitor is now international. The Settings, Help, and Legal sections are now labeled in English instead of German, with an eye toward the app's international presence in the Store.
