It does one thing (case conversion) extremely well. It is the right tool for the job. Superb design and attention to detail. Great Siri integration. I had been hankering after dark mode. It’d be even better with the ability to copy any string to the clipboard with one touch, so you wouldn’t have to tap-and-hold. As a bonus, a Today Widget version would present transformations of whatever was currently on the clipboard without a visit to the app. ### 5/5 — Works great! *2018-07-07, version 1.0* Works great! This app strips text formatting as well, which is perfect! In other words, if you paste in bold or italicized text, this app makes it normal unformatted text! :) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Share extension doesn't work *2018-12-05, version 1.3.1* From the native Notes app, I selected the word "worldwide,” then selected Share, and then the share extension for this app. I wanted it to transform to “WORLDWIDE” and selected that option. Not only did it not transform my text, but it deselected it upon return to the note as well. Total waste of $0.99. smh ### 2/5 — Disappointed there isn’t Shortcuts support *2019-03-28, version 2.0.1* The features for this otherwise-useful app says it has Siri Shortcuts support. When adding to siri within the app, it allows you to create trigger phrases for Siri to process text in the clipboard, but when I create workflows in Siri Shortcuts, there are no Text Case actions available. I bought this app hoping to use it to process text in Siri Shortcuts. ### 3/5 — Could be more confident *2023-12-08, version 2023.2.2* Christopher. Your developer privacy website is 404. I’m gonna give it 3 stars. 3 isn’t bad, right? ### 3/5 — Super app *2018-09-06, version 1.2.1* When I have a garbled style in a text file this app is perfect for imposing a uniform format. The app is simple to use, and features are being added over time. ### 3/5 — Very Useful Utility, Just Needs A Little Work *2018-07-07, version 1.0* This is the type of thing I’d use daily with a little adjustment. The biggest issue is that Capitalize doesn’t recognize multiple sentences, so only the first word of a paragraph is capitalized with other sentences transformed to lowercase. I think the results could also be better ordered with more commonly used items first. For instance: Capitalize, Title Case, Uppercase, Lowercase, URL Encoded, Reversed, Mocking Spongebob (whatever that one means?!). There’s also an additional case I’d love to see solved for that I run into frequently: turning copied text into a quote. So, wrapping pasted text in double quotation marks and any internal quotes in single quote marks (American English, I believe British English might be the reverse.) This is useful when grabbing text from an article to quote on social media. Another goofy/fun idea would be to turn any words of a sentence into emojis if there is an exact match. Like “The rooster and the pig drove a car.” into “The 🐓 and the 🐖 drove a 🚗”. Almost like a rebus. It’s extremely quick to use. And it’s easy to customize to your liking. It’s one of my most used utilities. It’s free but you should “tip” the developer for his work. I’ve seen mention of it as far back as 2018, so clearly no effort is being made by Apple to address it. But now, being able to call a Text Case-generated Siri shortcut from within my own handles it beautifully. I’ve spent so much pointless time trying to concoct a workaround and now my mind is at ease.
