I think everything’s OK. I get kicked out again and every time I try to post my thing I get kicked out too sometimes when I go back and it’ll show up again, but it’s a hit or miss. I’m not sure why, but this should be fixed. ### 3/5 — Great AI voices but scan feature needs work. *2024-06-10, version 1.6.137* I really like listening to the AI voice ‘Nova’. However, when I scan pages into my phone the app crashes and when it doesn’t crash and it successfully scans the page, it’ll make up words that aren’t words and misplace text so sentences don’t make sense. I’m not sure if that’s just a compatibility issue with my archaic iPhone XR, maybe? The other issue is I wish I could set ‘Nova’ as my default voice instead of choosing her every time. The interface is relatively user friendly and all in all it’s a great app. I look forward to seeing what else it can do and I hope it works out for you if you’re giving it a try! Maybe it’ll work better on a newer iPhone! ### 4/5 — Love it but there are some notes *2024-04-26, version 1.6.133* I like it it move the text to a new text file it shows the image and everything, the sound of the women is wonky and she joins the letters and eat the words so fast sometimes but it’s understandable the man’s voice is better. Another negative thing about it is that the things in between brackets are always ignored there should be a feature where the user should have it ignore the brackets or read inside it. ### 2/5 — Battery hog, ok otherwise *2024-01-30* Have a newish iPhone 14 Pro but with 5h of background reading it used up 66% of the battery. Gets quite warm too. Doesn’t pause playback with Siri announcements. Works ok apart from that. AI voices sound fake and no where near as good as speechify. You can’t tell the difference between a human and the AI. Truly impressive. Natural reader, dream reader, and others don’t even compare. I will never use another app for this. I love the way it organizes the library Negatives: However, it randomly pauses sometimes. Understandable. It’s using the internet to interpret the text. But they need to dedicate more resources to this. It’s a problem sometimes. A bigger problem than other apps. It reads footnotes. I wish there was an option to cut out footnotes, page numbers, superscripts for citations, etc. The margin crop feature doesn’t seem to work Wish list for future updates: I would love it if they had the ability to download the entire book audio so I can listen on the train on my way to work. This is a feature most apps don’t have so this isn’t the fault of ReadBit I would love a chrome browser extension I wanted to put down some minor criticisms but I will never use another app for this. Even with those criticisms, this app is by far the best. I hope to see the company grow so they can add new features. I would even pay more for the features if they set up tiered subscription or something.
