Tried this app for about a month, got annoyed with subpar dictionary but still played and finished puzzles. Couldn’t finish today because last word was three spaces, S_H and NO letters were available to make that a word. I clicked hint and it filled as SSH. That is NOT a word. Shh would have been the appropriate spelling for such a poor word choice. The puzzle could have worked in that space with two normal words used (I had lots of bonus words), but that’s just ignorant. Next puzzle, more common words invalid so I had enough and deleted. I might try it again next year. Moving on. ### 2/5 — Text twist *2024-03-16, version 3.4* I miss the old version of text twist. They were taking shots in the dark just as I was. What does eff stand for in your dictionary of acronyms or words? I’m assuming, bad choice, but I have no other, you’re using an English dictionary? They have come up with the same suppositions I have and I’m still confused because you don’t seem to allow any type of cuss words and those are at the top of the list unless you mean effective or efficient but why would you use them and not those words or something shorter? And to tell me that bolden is not an invalid word when it even came up while I was texting, proves it is not invalid! And the dictionaries and thesauruses agree so why does your word game count them out?! It’s both frustrating and hilarious at the same time! I have thought about just deleting your game but it’s become a challenge just to see how bad your game is off when it comes to legitimate words. I find it challenging because I have studied dictionaries and thesauruses since I was four years old because I required to and punishment was extremely harsh if I decided not to do so but I loved words and thought it was a privilege, that’s what I taught and what I still believe today, over 55 years later and having devoured thousands upon thousands of books! That’s why I’m keeping at you! It’s not only a privilege, it’s a right to be taught correctly and when I was a child and I saw a problem my dad said, don’t complain, fix it! Find a solution! And that’s what I’ve spent my life doing and that’s why I say you need to fix this game! There are kids playing this game who might not know whether a word is correct or not, like I do and you’re sending them in the wrong direction and that’s not right! You should be doing this correctly or not at all. We can’t take the chance of teaching young minds incorrectly because they are the future and do you want the future in the hands of people who don’t know the right answers?! I sure don’t! Please, it doesn’t take much for your computer geniuses to correct a spelling program, right? Do you understand where I’m coming from? Where would you be today if someone gave you the wrong answers and didn’t correct it? That’s our future and our present. Edit; I’m sorry but you really need to get a dictionary and thesaurus and a correct one at that! I have been keeping track of how many words your game finds invalid and it is so incredibly mind boggling just how many words your game app says are not valid words. Words I’ve used throughout my life and I will admit I’m a bookworm and a bit of a nerd, but I’m perfectly fine with that because I don’t see it as a flaw and I’ve never cared what others thought about me. However, I do care about children and their education and getting it right and giving them every chance they can get! Because a mind is a terrible thing to waste and our future is in their hands but more than that, they deserve the right to be properly informed! Wouldn’t you agree?! I’m sure you feel that way, just as I do and everyone should. I know this is a game but it should still be done correctly because it’s not a game to you, it’s your job! And you should do it right! It’s not like I’m asking for much. Just the use of correct words that are real words but yet you’ll accept dong and I can find only one meaning for that, lol. You make me laugh while you frustrate me! I personally don’t appreciate the letters being added, I want to solve the puzzles on my own, without any assistance from your program. I actually feel insulted by the clues and it irritates me. So is there a way we can dismantle the clues in the app? I could have sworn I used to play a game called Text Twist, but it was a completely different style. There were letters in bubbles and you had to make as many words as possible in a set amount of time. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — dangerous malware ads *2025-09-22, version 3.41* i accidentally clicked an ad while playing and it made my whole internet browser instantly unusable with a pop-up i couldn’t get out of. really messed up and irresponsible. i hate this app and would recommend no one use it, i had to delete my browser and all of my stored data and bookmarks with it. and that’s just my browser… i have no idea what more damage that “ad” is doing on my phone. ### 1/5 — “Invalid Word” *2024-08-09, version 3.41* I don’t know who’s running this App but I’m getting a picture… how ridiculous are you? You have to click hint for you to type the word you have entered several times. (Ex: Time was the actual word) but Text Twist would not allow me to enter the letter (M), so I had to click on hint which prefilled the letter (M) to move onto the next game.
