My letters take days and days to be delivered to my loved ones and the letters that I receive from my loved ones are usually a week old. They are prompt with delivery. I had an issue with one facility not accepting my documents so I reached out to customer service. They responded promptly and resolved the issue. Overall, I highly recommend the TextBehind app for anyone looking for a reliable and convenient way to stay connected with their incarcerated loved ones. Being locked up is very hard on the inmate because they feel so out of touch with the ones they love, especially when they can’t afford to make regular phone calls home. This app lets them know that they aren’t forgotten about and lets you correspond at a low cost for both you and the inmate. So easy, reliable, headache-free & doesn’t cost much to send letters, cards and pics to your loved ones on the “inside.” It’s really nice to have something hassle & drama free - especially when trying your navigate the Dept. of Corrections and all the other apps/websites needed just for communications alone. Anyone who’s had a loved one locked up (or themselves were) knows how stressful it can be (not to mention expensive) just to receive phone calls, send messages, mail, letters, documents, etc. to an inmate. I’m always grateful when I use an app or service that is straightforward & reliable! These folks do just that and they genuinely care about their customers. Thank you to the staff at TextBehind! API/news/list can’t be found. All pages give me some variation of this error. ### 1/5 — Greater than two weeks for a text? *2025-11-19, version 4.0.39* No help from customer service and two weeks later still says “ processed” ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work like before *2024-12-27, version 4.0.32* This app has been failing me. I used it in the years prior, never had an issue. This year 2024 however, my inmate has not received my letters and pictures due to an error on TextBehind’s end. When my letter and pictures that I do online thru their website reaches my inmate, he is not able to receive it bcuz somehow someway a staple is included. After reaching out to the facility they assured me that when they open the letter to inspect it, a staple was included. BOTH TIMES! I have reached out to text behind and they don’t want to accommodate me for this inconvenience. I asked for a refund which was denied. This is the second time this happens. I have sent about 20 photos and 6 texts over the course of almost 7 days since December 7th. It is the 13th and my lover has not gotten a single letter or picture from me. He uses a kiosk to view so I do not understand why he can’t freaking see ELECTRONIC messages from me ELECTRONICALLY. I’m starting to get very angry and impatient and am considering requesting my money back. We NEED to be able to communicate with one another especially because this way seemed cheaper than paying for calls and I work full time so I’m often missing his calls. I need help! I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE ON THIS SIDE TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS OR REDO IT TO MAKE SURE HE STARTS GETTING SOMETHING. ### 1/5 — Exploitation *2021-11-15, version 4.0.12* This app cut off one of the only modes of physical contact (mail written and delivered by hand) I had with incarcerated friends. TextBehind not only charges more for an inferior “service” than standard mail, they also have the ability to mine every piece of correspondence and destroy it or censor its content - a massive surveillance overstep. They’ve found yet another way to make money off people already stripped of almost all their rights, further ensuring that mass incarceration profits the elite. This app is destructive both to my personal relationships and society as a whole. Don’t accept extortion as if it were a nifty gift. ### 1/5 — Used to be brilliant - not anymore! *2018-04-13, version 2.2.0* I used to be able to send money from the UK to my loved one in the US. The service was suspended indefinitely last year and I now have nowhere else to turn as you can’t buy money orders in the UK. So disappointed and let down by this app!
