### 4/5 — 🙂👍🏼

*2023-11-05, version 4.7.2*

🙂👍🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 4/5 — Great app

*2020-12-02, version 4.7.2*

I have use this app for quite some time. I find the dictation is very adaptive, and accurate especially compared to the ones that generically come with my electronic devices. It’s a quick learning curve, I’m sure I have not yet run through all the options.

I find this an excellent tool for capturing ideas, making quick notes, sending hands-free email, I mean no typing LOL. Happy with my purchase look forward to updates in the future.

### 4/5 — Still has a few issues

*2020-08-05, version 4.6*

Cantering it all up ; coloured backgrounds and texts in colour , in sections like a PDF that’s paged an a few more , I’ll let em know , too ..

### 5/5 — This is a Gem of a find for a writer...

*2020-04-14, version 4.6*

I like the way it interacts with the writer, giving suggestions as you type, it’s like having a proof reader by your side.

Well done developers.
James Hadley.

### 5/5 — Word Processing made easier.

*2020-02-02*

I enjoy using this app. Makes keeping thoughts, ideas and even giving an outlet to vent frustration or anger.
I like the ease of downloading text to my word processor, Word Perfect.

### 5/5 — Make Writing Easy Again!

*2019-11-16, version 4.5*

I have been using TextKraft for years, it's a simple app that works well with the iPad, and you can easily download and upload text to your main device for editing. It's great for short scribbling sessions as well as long ones!

### 5/5 — Nice

*2019-10-06*

Very good

### 5/5 — Best for my purpose

*2019-09-18*

After trying more than two dozen similar apps, this one is the one I use most. Simple yet powerful.
Thank you

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2019-06-26, version 4.4.1*

Une application très complète et polyvalente. Facile et agréable à utiliser et à un coût très accessible.

### 5/5 — Textkraft Pro

*2019-04-09, version 4.4*

An excellent tool for the writer on the road.

### 5/5 — It is the KINK!, I mean, KING!

*2019-03-05*

It remains at the top of the heap. All that is written below remains applicable. Incremental improvements in function and stability, this app will not crash, and it will always get the job done. I love this app
By the way, I use this app on a old, iPad 2. You know, the second iPad following the first? This app supports my ancient iOS, 9.3.5. Groovy, yes? Also, on a iPhone 6S Plus. Dig it?

Use it ---love it.

My needs are simple. A text editor that will create and modify TXT dox. It is so good at that task, hands down. The App also works SEAMLESSLY with Dropbox helping me keep track of hundreds of recipes. BONUS for supporting (the much maligned) RTF and the over hyped, MS documents of various flavors.

Super Groovy is the, on the fly, text size modification, ala, Pinch-n-Zoom. My presbyopia-eyes (not, Bette Davis eyes) need the instant magnification. Magnificent.

Others have said their thing about this app in other, well, applications. In my case, I stopped spending, money, and time looking for the perfect text manipulator BECAUSE it is maintained and improved.

### 4/5 — Textkraft is great

*2018-12-28, version 4.3.1*

Great app

### 5/5 — Nice place to write, very simple and no long learning curve.

*2018-09-23*

For me, the only thing that would make this better is photo support.

### 5/5 — Good translation tool.

*2018-06-07*

Excellent tool.

### 5/5 — My First Choice for All Writing

*2018-03-23*

I have tried and discarded many writing applications before setting on the one serious application for a writer.

### 5/5 — The perfect app

*2018-02-12, version 4.3*

It's actually a pleasure to use this app. Everything is where I expect it to be and it has all the features you wish an iPad keyboard had, not to mention you can have light text on a dark background. Please whatever you do don't get rid of the arrow keys they've saved my sanity so many times. Danke.

### 4/5 — Good - BUT

*2017-12-29*

Got this for Xmas.
Was hopeful, but wary of price and review gaps - years apart.
Well, all listed features work.

I was very pleased, until I discovered pressing enter/return doesn't create a proper indent! The app forces us to use TAB. I hate TAB. Smashwords hates TAB. Please fix so we can choose in options to use enter/return key to create new paragraphs WITH indent.

Second issue, there is no page-break mark. I can not figure how to make a new chapter. The Info section mistakenly lists line-breaks as chapters. No one uses line-breaks for a new chapter! I use line-breaks to jump forward in story time or change character POV in same chapter.

Needs a bookmarking/tagging feature for long works to make it easier to navigate novels.

Would like file, folder and subfolder management to be a bit more like Scrivo Pro.

I appreciate the color themes. I am currently using blue. Would like you to add black text on soft grey background and white text on purple.

Please add support for import/edit/save/export Open Document Format. Odt is a free format. I have dozens of .odt files I'd like to migrate to mobile Textkraft.

Fixing these issues will raise my rating and get a Twitter mention.

For others reading, the basic fonts are here. Arial, Georgia, Palatino, Times New Roman, Open Dyslexic and more.

I'd ask the devs to allow multiple fonts per document. Title in one font, body in another. Handwritten letters in stories in a handwriting font. Add more handwriting fonts. There are many free ones.

Lastly, Textkraft has auto-recovery. Don't think it's listed. The app crashed during a practice run. When I reopened it, it brought back what I'd written from autosave backup like Open Office does. Very grateful for that!

Please look into the crashing. I did not write much. Using iOS 10 on brand new iPad.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor transfer of old documents

*2020-03-01, version 4.6*

When I upgraded and paid the extra $$$, all of my old documents did not transfer so I’ve lost a lot of writing which meant a lot to me. Goodbye TextPro. You better not ask for an annual subscription fee. Using good old word software is more reliable.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing, not worth the hype

*2018-04-25*

I want my money back! When I opened the app many of the features were not as they were described. For instance, the text editing was limited. The undo section is not limitless.

I could not get rid of a white strip that stayed at the top of my document.

It needs a chapter list for easy reference.

The UI is not intuitive. It seems like it would be, but it’s not. If you’re looking for a good writing tool with text edit, I recommend looking elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Crashes with google docs

*2017-03-01, version 4.1*

I could never get it to open my google docs so I can't say it's helpful for me.

### 1/5 — Schreibkraft

*2014-10-02, version 3.0*

I HATE the keyboard, LOVED the previous keyboard. I have convinced several people to try your app, and they all bought it, based on the old keyboard.
Please bring back the keyboard, or at least give us the option between the two.
I haven't had a chance to explore much of the new features, but I like the ones I have tried.

### 1/5 — It doesn't work

*2013-10-14, version 2.0.8*

You just get nonsense suggestion in all languages. At least those I know: english, german, french

### 1/5 — nachetterpas

*2013-01-03, version 2.0.5*

### 2/5 — This used to be a 5-star app but no more

*2019-04-12*

This used to be a really good app, I rated it 5-stars and used it most every day.
Infovole changed the the cloud access so everything has to be accessed through iCloud, destroying one of the nicest features of Textkraft; simplicity of accessing third-party cloud services. Since the introduction of using iCloud as an intermediary to third-party cloud services the simplicity is no longer a feature. For example, accessing files on OneDrive takes many more steps using icloud than the previous Textkraft versions

### 3/5 — Nice features, busy interface

*2016-01-11, version 3.3.1*

This is of the breed of apps that aspire to be more straightforward than a word processor, but still be feature rich. This has a good number of features including fonts, spell check, exporting, formatting, easy ways to insert quotes... The layout of the buttons is not intuitive and too cluttered with too many icons that are less than intuitive.

Beings that this is an app dealing with words, the developers shouldn't feel shy about letting some of the option buttons also be words to facilitate use.

### 3/5 — Awkward "Upgrades"

*2014-10-03, version 3.0*

Agreed with Lokijuhydd3, I'm missing the old version's keyboard. Everything was much more accessible. Also not a fan of flatness on my word processors, the old themes were actually really great! I probably wouldn't have updated if the previous version worked on iOS 8....

Other than these issues, the processor is one of the best in the store.

### 3/5 — Not a Word Processor

*2012-03-03, version 1.3.1*

Be careful! I found this app after a search for "world processor". This it's not, even though you could believe it based on the description. It is a mass text editor with almost no formatting. Very good at suggesting words and dealing with other languages. Interface with the Apple bluetooth keyboard is good, and many special characters are available, although I'll have to find a keyboard map to know what is available. It's not a bad app, just not a word processor.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incompatible

*2024-08-08, version 4.7.2*

In my opinion Textkraft 5 is a poor replacement for the trusted iOS version of Textkraft 4. All the flexibility of Textkraft 4 is no longer present in the new version making it less attractive to use (unless one uses an outdated iOS version). One may as well use the standard Pages word processor which comes as a free issue with iPad and iPhone.

### 5/5 — The best app for writing on iPad

*2023-02-11*

The iPad sans keyboard is not necessarily the best environment for doing a lot of typing. Textkraft really makes the most of the medium to make it a much smoother experience. I recommend!

### 5/5 — Works great on my iPad snd keyboard

*2022-11-02*

Love the ease of use and multiple pages!

### 5/5 — Textkraft: Indispensable, versatile, powerful -- for the real writer

*2022-07-23*

I've been using this editor for years and can't get away from it. Packed into it is a vast array of resources a user might need for dealing with every possible aspect of plain text production and processing, from proofreading dictionary to search and replace, to easy highlighting of a word, a sentence or a whole section (along with one-click saving of the entire document to the copy buffer).

Export of the text to other apps through the select menu and saving to services such as Dropbox is efficient and effortless. Big bonus: import into Textkraft can make use of an additive option, in which each successive import adds text at the end of your current document. More features yet ... too many to describe here.

I can't imagine text editing coming as easily and dependably as this in any other app.

### 5/5 — Awesome Text Editor

*2022-02-20*

I couldn’t ask for a better text editor for my iDevices.

### 5/5 — Love using this App.

*2021-10-01*

How can I have title page ?

How can I have a title page ?
Love using this App , but tell me how can I title my page ????

### 5/5 — Grandmama

*2021-07-02*

My everyday “go to” app. Best app on the market. I’ve been using it for years. Support is awesome.

### 5/5 — Excellent resource for creative writers!

*2021-06-15*

Haven't used TextKraft Pro for several years. Just tried it out and it still does what I foremost request in a writing app--finds synonyms! It suggests synonyms and other related words as I type. Also provides links to external dictionaries and more. All right below at my convenience!

### 5/5 — To the stars and future stars

*2020-12-12*

I found this app to be a tool that does not chip or break. Everything that I need is at my fingertips. To use will show you it’s true. This is a quote from another writer, but it can be used for my thoughts too.

### 5/5 — Gaensel

*2020-07-14, version 4.6*

Still the one I use for all of my writing in English and German. No iPad should be without this app!
Writing deals with words. There are many simple ways in this app to find the words, and indeed, knowledge to find and use the right words to communicate well.
Superlative for writing. Trouble free file sharing, saving and opening. Unfortunately no more stars are possible.
