### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2026-03-13, version 4.7*

Rubbish app and service always forgets my log in details and takes forever to fix it then you have to phone someone in support

### 2/5 — Unnecessarily painful

*2026-03-11, version 4.7*

No Apple Pay. No Google Pay. Just why?

### 1/5 — We know what you owe, we just won’t tell you.

*2026-03-10, version 4.7*

There’s cameras everywhere. I had to pay a tunnel charge. The app says I owe but won’t tell me how many times. So I had to check my gps data to figure out if and when I was in the active times. Then there’s no Apple Pay facility. Dreadful. I can’t stand London and this app has confirmed that opinion for me.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2026-03-09, version 4.7*

Does not work. Does not trigger payments. Does not allow for reduction in fees. Ended up having to pay £21 for all days because there is no way to figure out if they are going to charge you correctly or if you will just receive a PCN. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Sad demise of society

*2026-03-01, version 4.7*

A poorly made app, website, and phone service that appears to exist only to scam people out of money. How can we rob the poor of what little they have left? And make it excruciatingly painful? I know just the thing…

### 1/5 — TFL

*2026-02-28, version 4.7*

Where shall I start? Ok I’ve entered into a congestion charge zone and now I want to pay before I get fined. I’ve tried paying online and I don’t know my account number. So I thought maybe try the app and guess what, it’s just as bad as the corrupt government we have trying to run this country. Cream every penny from a tax paying working citizen. Why shall we pay if we cannot get access into our on account?

### 1/5 — Embarrassing

*2026-02-26, version 4.7*

Personally if I managed this service I would resign. The website is painful at best and to log in after creating an account it asks for a customer ID which doesn’t seem to exist unless you ring and ask for it. Thought the app would be better than the website which it was but frankly still terrible, no receipt, can’t clearly see what you have triggered in terms of charges or what you actually have to pay, it’s all guess work. I would question the legality of poor use of public money.

### 1/5 — Poor app

*2026-02-15, version 4.7*

Says to update software but doesn’t update and just keeps asking for password. Just goes round in circles. Very poor but typical for the government test it before you release it for god sake !!! Armatures

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-02-15, version 4.7*

I would not even give it 1 star. Too many problems to list. I cannot even use it now as the app has frozen.

### 1/5 — What a joke

*2026-02-15, version 4.7*

Piss take

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-02-13, version 4.7*

I thought it would make life easier but I ended up wasting more time, getting frustrated, uninstalled the app and ended up doing it online instead.

### 1/5 — Genuine Governmet Scam

*2026-02-04, version 4.7*

I’ve tried to create an account so many times for auto pay as it’s cheaper, but obviously they want you to pay more so non of the email confirmations go to your email and when you get a verification link for your email, nothing comes up. Forced to pay higher charges than the auto pay method and when you forget, obviously slap you with fines. Fed up of this app. Genuine incompetence when it comes to customer service or usability.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-02-01, version 4.7*

This is just another money grabbing scheme by the quango that is TFL.

Have tried to sign up on multiple occasions but never get the validation email.

what a broken system!!!

### 1/5 — it’s almost like they don’t want you to pay

*2026-01-28, version 4.7*

What an absolute terrible bit of software. Can't accept passwords it's confirmed suitable, won’t accept copy and paste in some circumstances, want to know too many personal details such as mother’s maiden name (because the British government doesn’t have much or trapped record with people’s personal information), it doesn’t tell you when payments have been missed since tell you when you’ve been into London in a congestion or in a ULEZ area. It seems like it’s set up to frustrate and confuse.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-01-23, version 4.7*

Unable to create an account and awful service

### 1/5 — Dreadful and misleading

*2026-01-11*

BEWARE!
‘IS DUE’ does NOT mean you owe a payment!

I rarely need to travel in London, and therefore check each time what I will need to pay. I decided to set up Autopay for this via the website, to simplify things. Seeing that there was an App, I subsequently installed that because using the website was staggeringly clunky, long-winded and unreliable: having registered and paid for a Blackwall Tunnel payment online, eventually, after several failures, I received no email confirming registration or payment until some hours later. Logging in to pay again on the return journey should have used Autofill details but wouldn’t - eventually I found the account details via my Passwords app and copied them across manually.
I set up Autopay, but no transaction occurred. It turned out that Autopay wasn’t fully set up. So I did it again, this time successfully, I think. I downloaded the app in the hope that things would be smoother but sadly not. Logging in again required manual copying of details. Fortunately, it did at least seem to know who I was. I decided to manually pay the second tunnel charge so looked up what was due, by choosing the car I had registered. It showed:
Congestion Charge - IS DUE
ULEZ - IS NOT DUE
Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnel charge - IS DUE.

I was confused as I was sure we hadn’t entered a CC zone - but decided it best to pay, in case I’d made an error, and work out why later.

It turns out that what ‘IS DUE’ actually means is ‘applies to your vehicle’ - not that you owe some money right now. I had not gone into the CC zone - but the words misled me into making the £18 payment on top of the tunnel charge. No message to say ‘You have not been in a CC zone yet today - do you wish to continue?’

I am now struggling to get a refund.

### 1/5 — To much information

*2026-01-04, version 4.7*

Only pay one day in advance and no receipt for payment and why do I have to give so much information just to pay for a change.name address email. Mind your own business.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-01-04, version 4.7*

You have to work very hard to build an app this bad. You may have noticed but paying for things with a phone is incredibly straightforward these days. Somehow you have created an app that makes paying for something you can’t not pay for idiotically difficult.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-01-03, version 4.7*

Government ripping people off due to net zero bs policies another iron in the fire
To destroy the uk

### 1/5 — TfL are scamming Londoners

*2026-08-16*

App is absolutely trash and a scam making money out of Londoners . They cancelled my autopay without notifying me then sent me 3 £180 fines which they insisted I had to pay.

My autopay account can’t be reinstated and asks me to pay off my balance despite being £36 in credit, and every time I try and go through the process of sorting it out it doesn’t work and tells me something went wrong.

I’ve emailed them about the issues and only been provided with a number in response. Once I rang the number they assured me to just pay off the balance despite me trying to explain to them I was in credit. Then every time they said they would transfer me to a pay line the phone cut off. This happened 3 times.
My auto pay has still not been sorted. So if I forget to pay I’m fined £90. Now I can’t even log into the app and have no way of recovering my password.

This is the single worst app on the store and should be removed immediately and TFL need to be investigated for the abysmal service they are providing to Londoners.

I am disgusted.

### 1/5 — Worst App

*2026-06-29*

Wont accept visa cards, only payment method is via creditcard, why nothing else? I needed to pay for 3 days and had to manually type all of my data for each day and pay each day seperately. And the payment didnt even worked.

This app is a complete disaster. Every Parking lot in Germany has a better payment method then this.

### 1/5 — Gives misleading results

*2026-06-29, version 4.7*

The app will tell you need to pay a charge regardless of whether you actually entered the congestion zone or not.

It looks at the DVLA records to determine if your car meets the criteria to be charged. Which is probably all cars now! Making the app kind of pointless.

I don’t think there is a way to check if you entered a chargeable zone and need to pay. Makes me wonder how many people have paid when they didn’t need to.

### 1/5 — Very poor App

*2026-05-09, version 4.7*

So many things wrong it beggars belief, when putting in your registration number it suggests you need to pay congestion and tunnel use, even if you didn’t use them on a given day.
After setting up an account, you cannot assign your registration numbers to it, you have to enter the registration each time.
The user account number is superfluous, should be keyed by email, everything else is.
Doesn’t surprise me though given everything Khan has done, if you have a car it’s best not to drive in London anyway, don’t go unless you have to!

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-04-24, version 4.7*

Awful app, company just trying to rinse everyone’s pockets with fines then make it difficult to pay

### 1/5 — Embarrassing

*2026-04-05, version 4.7*

Words fail me. It is almost as though tfl are deliberately making it difficult for drivers to pay the charges so that they can levy fines!

### 1/5 — Disgusting

*2026-03-29, version 4.7*

I forgot to pay and the next day I remembered that I have to pay to go through the tunnel and two days later they sent me a letter saying I was being punished. This is disgusting behavior. And how can you have to pay for a tunnel when the tunnel was built with taxpayers' money???!!!

### 1/5 — Wont accept card payments

*2026-03-25, version 4.7*

Considering this country charges you for breathing I was rather surprised they would not accept my money. But then I forgot if I don’t pay them within 2 weeks the fine gets doubled. Go London!

### 1/5 — TFL “every journey’s a balls up”

*2026-03-18, version 4.7*

Making things difficult for working people as per usual. Imagine you’re an old Doris and you’re not up to date with technology, you have to go around the houses to make a one off payment. Sadiq Khan is a disgrace should never even been considered as “Mayor of London” he’s a conniving grubby little parasitic molerat.

### 1/5 — Terrible App/Terrible Service

*2026-03-18, version 4.7*

App makes you input all your details manually when nearly every app or website allows you to auto input your details, doesn’t allow you to use Apple pay in 2026!!!!
Tried to create an account but on confirmation it said something went wrong and none of my details were stored so I better finish this review and get cracking with that again

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nickel

*2026-05-21*

Fonctionne parfaitement lors de mon séjour à Londres auto pay nickel

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-07-29, version 4.6*

Way easier than doing it online and you don’t have to sign up for an account!

### 5/5 — Don’t bother with this

*2025-05-30, version 4.6*

After completing and giving my personal info and bank details and authorizing auto pay . You get a message OOPS SOMETHING HAS GONE WRONG
St8 to my bank and cancelled them so they cannot take any payments - seems scammy to me .

### 5/5 — Penalty

*2023-10-21, version 3.8*

I paid my penalty successfully. Unfortunately I’m not happy if that but that option is very comfortable and easy.
P.s. I recommending if you pay successful your payment to put your email address for your proof in case something happens.

### 5/5 — Klappt brutal Jungs

*2022-08-06*

Digga Jungs, die App ist zu nice. Hatte erst bedenke weil England wirklich Schmutz ist aber die App ist Goat

### 5/5 — Charged twice for adding the same car

*2021-10-25*

While setting the Auto pay account with my vehicle details, it assume the £10 annual charge for each vehicle added ( to right) problem was when adding hubby’s car I took my off by mistake… the result was my car being charged the another £10 Auto pay annual charge soon I put it back in and it took only 2 minutes for this system to take £10 out of my pocket . Charged me twice for same car. Please review this ASAP
( gave 5* as this crap won’t let me submit my review with only 1*)

### 4/5 — No problems setting up

*2023-08-07, version 3.7*

Simple app with simple instructions. It took me about 5 minutes to set up an account and set up auto pay. The only delay was getting the account verification email which took 10 minutes to come through. After that the full validation email came in quickly. The proof will come when I need to use it.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2022-06-10, version 3.4*

I had to download this app to pay the ULEZ and congestion charge due to the TFL site being down and it seemed to work ok for me. Pretty quick and straightforward to use. Only negative is that I needed to pay for two days and had to do two separate transactions rather than being able to choose two calendar days in one transaction.

### 3/5 — Better than their awful website

*2025-09-14*

After losing a few hours trying to pay a congestion charge from my PC I decided to try this app despite its bad reviews. The first thing it did was detect my device (iPad) was in Landscape mode and told me to use their website instead! I wisely cancelled that misdirection and continued (still in landscape mode) and was finally able to pay the congestion charge. Don’t bother creating an account for use in future if you only infrequently fall into the CC zone trap as they will obsolete the account after 25 months of inactivity.

### 3/5 — Better to use the website since

*2025-08-03, version 4.6*

No Apple Pay support, it’s easier to use the website since at least then my browser can auto-fill things
